I am disputing a debt being collected by Aldous & Associates on behalf of XXXX XXXX. I cancelled my membership in person at the XXXX, TX location on XX/XX/year>. Despite this, I was later contacted for an alleged balance that should not exist. After cancelling, I stopped receiving member communications and even received a promotional email on XX/XX/year> offering me to sign up again for {$1.00}, which confirms my membership was no longer active. I also made multiple attempts to contact both the local gym and corporate office, but received no resolution. I have already submitted a dispute previously, but nothing came from it. Additionally, I was threatened that my credit would be negatively impacted if I did not pay, despite the debt being invalid. I am requesting that this account be immediately removed, all collection activity cease, and any credit reporting related to this matter be deleted.
I dispute this debt in its entirety and selected debt is not yours because I do not owe any valid obligation. I enrolled in a gym membership with The XXXX in XXXX XXXX after being told that the first 30 days would be free and that my monthly rate would be {$130.00} thereafter. This representation is also reflected in the gyms advertising. However, I was charged {$270.00} on the XXXX day, labeled as a " down payment '' which reflects XXXX months of dues and contradicts the representation that the first XXXX days would be free. This billing structure was not clearly disclosed and is extremely misleading, but also not discussed at the time of signing. The contract itself is also internally inconsistent. It lists a XXXX XXXX XXXX of {$130.00}, while also requiring a {$270.00} down payment and 24 monthly payments of {$130.00}, which does not clearly disclose the actual total financial obligation.…
To Whom It Concerns, Im contacting you because an account with my information suddenly appeared in your system and is now being reported to the credit bureaus. Before I make any decisions or take any responsibility for something I dont fully understand, I need clarity and documentation. I am disputing this account and requesting validation under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This is not a refusal to pay. I simply need proof that the information youre reporting is accurate, that I am the correct person, and that your company has the legal right to collect or furnish the account. Right now, what you have provided is not enough for me to confirm anything. To properly review and verify this matter, I am asking for the following : 1. A breakdown of what this alleged balance is based on, including dates and itemized charges. 2. Documents showing where this obligation originated and how your company obtained it. 3.…

I am submitting this complaint regarding a fraudulent collection account that has been reported under my name without my authorization. I discovered a collection account listed on my credit report that I do not recognize and did not authorize. I have never entered into any agreement or financial obligation with this creditor or collection agency nor the company theyre acting on behalf of. This account appears to be fraudulent and may be the result of identity theft or reporting error. The name used is a name I have not went by since XX/XX/year> when I got divorced. My credit has always had fraud alerts and security freezes, I was never contacted for any accounts in Florida as I am a Texas resident. I have disputed this account with the credit reporting agencies ; however, it remains on my report and continues to negatively impact my credit profile. The creditor also continues to harass me with phone calls and text message.…
I am disputing a {$370.00} collection from Aldous & Associates regarding a XXXX XXXX membership. I canceled this membership via telephone in late XXXX. I do not have the exact date of the call as it was over two years ago and the merchant failed to send a confirmation email, which is a common predatory practice reported by many other XXXX members. I only recently discovered this on my credit report and contacted the collector on XX/XX/XXXX. I specifically requested the XXXX XXXX XXXX ' and internal account notes from the original creditor ( XXXX XXXX for late XXXX to verify my verbal cancellation. The representative refused to provide this specific validation. Furthermore, the representative used deceptive tactics by telling me I needed to 'cancel again ' with VASA to stop charges, despite the account already being in default and collections.…

In XX/XX/XXXX my former landlord XXXX XXXX XXXX issued a {$310.00} security deposit statement containing improper charges including an undocumented {$490.00} turnover fee, estimated utility charges dating back to XX/XX/XXXX before my XX/XX/XXXX move-in date per my lease contract, and an unauthorized admin fee. I emailed XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX requesting they pause sending to collections as the charges were disputed. They ignored this and sent to Aldous & Associates P.L.L.C. anyway. Aldous & Associates P.L.L.C. sent a collection letter XX/XX/XXXX stating : 'If you write to us by XX/XX/XXXX, we must stop collection on any amount you dispute. Issue : Disputed debt improper charges and unclear cancellation process What happened : I am disputing a debt that has been sent to collections related to a service with XXXX. I attempted to cancel my services in good faith using the same communication method the business used to communicate with me, which was via text message. My cancellation request was sent, and I received no indication that the message was not received or that this was not a valid method of cancellation. There was no bounceback message, no automated response, and no notice stating that cancellations could not be processed through that channel. I later learned that the business claims cancellations must be submitted via email only. However, this requirement was not clearly communicated in a way that would reasonably inform a consumer that a cancellation attempt through their existing communication channel would be ignored.…

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding a debt collection account that is currently being reported on my credit file and has not been properly validated despite my request. I previously requested validation of this alleged debt pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. 1692g. The collection agency has failed to provide adequate documentation verifying the existence of the debt, the amount owed, or their legal authority to collect it. Despite this failure to validate the debt, the account continues to be reported to the credit reporting agencies. Reporting information that can not be verified is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, specifically 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2, which requires furnishers of information to provide accurate and verifiable information. Additionally, continuing collection activity without proper validation may constitute a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.…

I have already informed them that I do not recognize this account and requested that they stop contacting me. Despite my request, they continue to call and send collection notices demanding payment. I do not believe this debt belongs to me, and their continued attempts to collect are causing unnecessary stress and harassment.

I am filing a complaint regarding a XXXX XXXX membership that was improperly continued and later sent to collections through Aldous & Associates. On or about XXXX XXXX I went in person to my XXXX XXXX location to cancel my membership. At the time I did not have access to email. I explained this to the staff and requested that my membership be cancelled in person. The staff refused to process the cancellation and told me it could only be done by email. Those charges were later sent to collections through Aldous & Associates and have now affected my credit. I previously filed a complaint regarding Aldous & Associates , PLLC and their improper reporting and collection practices. I am now filing this additional complaint using the companys own response as part of the record. I have also filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and my State Attorney General using the exact information Aldous provided in their CFPB response. In their official CFPB response, Aldous did not provide any documentation validating the debt. Instead, the company simply stated that they would treat this as a dispute and reach out to the original creditor, XXXX XXXX. This response confirms exactly what I stated in my original complaint that Aldous does not currently possess the documentation required to validate this alleged debt. It has now been approximately 90 days since my initial written request for proper validation.…

I am submitting this complaint regarding a debt collector who has been attempting to collect an alleged debt from me. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), a debt collector is required to send a written notice of the debt within XXXX days of their initial communication with a consumer. In this case, I was contacted by the debt collector regarding the alleged debt, but I never received the required written notice in the mail within the timeframe required by the FDCPA. This notice should have included important information such as the amount of the debt, the name of the original creditor, and my rights to dispute the debt. Because the debt collector failed to provide the legally required notice, I believe this may constitute a violation of the FDCPA. I am requesting that this matter be investigated and that the collection account be removed from my credit report if it is found to be in violation of federal law.…
