A cosigned a vehicle lease with my daughter with the time was XXXX XXXX XXXX and in college. The terms of the lease for XXXX years were met and paid in full without being late. She did go over on mileage, which I paid in full and then was hit with a disposition fee that I disputed with the dealership and Ally financial. Ultimately Ally Financial sent me a settlement offer for {$260.00} which I paid in full and they still continued to request money after cashing my check. Ally Financial customer service placed me on hold for many hours to never give me a explanation as to why they still requested money after sending and cashing my check on their settlement offer how these people are permitted to do business is discouraging and criminal.

My auto loan with Ally Financial was recently Paid in Full ( I paid a total payoff of {$21000.00} on a {$20000.00} principal ). However, Ally is currently holding an illegal credit balance of over {$1000.00} due to unearned Forced-Placed Insurance / Collateral Protection Insurance ( CPI ) premiums that they refuse to refund. When I purchased the vehicle, my original sales contract clearly showed " N/A '' for dealer-provided insurance, and I was not notified that Ally had force-placed CPI on my account. I acknowledge there was a brief gap in my personal coverage from the date of purchase until XX/XX/XXXX. Ally is legally entitled to the prorated CPI premiums for those specific uninsured days. However, I secured my own continuous auto insurance starting on XX/XX/XXXX. Because I was never informed of the CPI placement, I did not initially realize I needed to send Ally my proof of insurance.…

The bank failed to properly investigate under Regulation E and is refusing to reconsider with new evidence. My husband 's debit card was lost in XX/XX/XXXX. I requested a replacement card. The bank company told me I needed to create a separate profile for my husband my to order my replacement card -- despite us previously only having one profile when we first ordered debit cards. I requested for the card to be closed and he would open his profile to order a replacement debit card. On XX/XX/XXXX, while I was grocery shopping, my transaction was denied for insufficient funds. I checked the bank app and saw XXXX separate ATM transactions : {$980.00} ( posted XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and {$280.00} ( posted XX/XX/XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ). I called the bank and disputed the transactions. I was told the bank would contact me for further documents. I asked if we needed a police report and was told no.…

I am the successor in interest for a vehicle loan following the death of the primary borrower. The company has confirmed receipt of all required legal documents, including the death certificate, executor paperwork, and assumption authorization. I have been in constant contact with the bank and have made several payments which were successfully withdrawn from my account. Despite this, the company has placed the vehicle in active repossession status and assigned it to a tow company, demanding a lump-sum payment of {$3800.00} to stop the recovery. The bank refused to grant a hardship extension or a temporary stay of repossession while they process the paperwork they already possess.I have made four urgent attempts to resolve this this week calling twice on Monday, XXXX, and twice on Tuesday, XXXX specifically requesting to speak with a supervisor. Despite the extreme urgency of an active repossession, no supervisor was made available, and I have received zero return calls.…
Ally Financial offered payment extensions twice in exchange for specific payments to bring account current. First offer : made required payment, contacted company after it posted, extension was denied. Second offer : same outcome made required payment as instructed, extension denied after posting. Each time I was told to check back after payment posted and was then told extension was not approved. When I requested late fee waivers totaling over {$1100.00}, I was told waivers are not permitted, yet company offered token {$30.00} waivers. When I threatened to file regulatory complaints, company escalated to XXXX and promised decision in XXXX days. Decision came back denied. I have made over {$4000.00} in payments since XX/XX/year> including {$500.00} today. Company is engaging in a pattern of promising relief to obtain payments then denying that relief. I have chat transcripts documenting these promises. Late fees now total {$1100.00} on top of {$1500.00} past due.…

I am the sole borrower on an auto loan serviced by Ally Financial that has recently been paid in full. I am submitting this complaint due to concerns regarding an unauthorized deferment applied to my account, Allys failure to provide documentation supporting that action, and their inability or refusal to provide complete, consistent, and accessible account records. A deferment appears to have been applied to my loan ; however : I did not authorize any deferment No third party had authority to act on my account There is no documentation of any deferment within my account records Despite multiple requests, Ally has failed to provide : Any documentation showing who requested or authorized the deferment Any verification or authentication records supporting that action Any billing statements necessary to confirm how the deferment affected the loan In addition, Ally has provided inconsistent account records, failed to produce requested documents, and restricted access to documents that…
In XX/XX/XXXX, I missed a payment due to financial hardship. I then entered into a XXXX catch-up payment plan with Ally Auto, which required increased monthly payments to bring the account current. From approximately XX/XX/XXXX through early XXXX, I made the required catch-up payments ( around $ 638 monthly versus my regular ~ {$470.00} payment ). Ally later confirmed that the catch-up plan was completed. However, despite completing the plan, my account has continued to reflect a past-due status. I was informed that my payments were applied to prior months rather than advancing my account as expected under the catch-up plan. As a result, my account has been treated as continuously delinquent since XXXX, and I have been required to make multiple payments within short timeframes, which was not part of the agreement. I have contacted Ally multiple times by phone and messaging and submitted a written dispute requesting correction, but the issue remains unresolved.

My spouse and I filed XXXX XXXX bankruptcy in XXXX and received a discharge on XX/XX/XXXX. Despite that discharge, Ally continues to display a recurring Bankruptcy Account Disclaimer every time I log in to Ally Auto Online Services. The disclaimer states that XXXX records reflect that XXXX or more accounts linked to my online access is/was involved in a bankruptcy and requires me to click I Agree before proceeding. This has continued years after the bankruptcy discharge. I sent Ally a written demand by certified mail requesting that it remove the recurring disclaimer, correct any internal coding or flag causing it to appear, update its records to reflect the discharged status of the bankruptcy, and confirm in writing that the issue had been corrected. Ally received and signed for that letter on XX/XX/XXXX. I gave Ally XXXX business days to correct the issue. That deadline passed on XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the same bankruptcy disclaimer was still appearing on login.…
Re : CFPB Complaint # XXXX Date : XX/XX/year> To Whom It XXXX Concern, I am formally disputing the response provided by Ally Bank , as it does not address the core issue of my complaint. My concern is not simply that a contract exists, but that I am currently paying for a Mechanical Failure Service Contract that has proven to be unusable and has provided no meaningful benefit. Within approximately XXXX year of financing my vehicle, I was required to pay {$4600.00} out of pocket for injector repairs. This occurred shortly after exceeding the mileage limitation under the service contract. As a result, the coverage I believed I had purchased did not apply when I needed it most.…
I am filing a formal complaint against Ally Bank regarding the handling of an unauthorized transaction dispute, the restriction of my bank account, and what I believe is a serious lack of transparency and fair access to my funds during the investigation process. On XX/XX/2026, I reported an unauthorized {$3500.00} transaction from XXXX NY that was charged to my Ally Bank account. This transaction was not authorized by me, and I immediately reported it to Ally as fraud. Ally opened a dispute investigation under dispute number XXXX. On XX/XX/2026, Ally issued a provisional credit of {$3500.00} to my account. I also received a written letter from Ally dated XX/XX/2026, stating : While we complete our research, youll have full use of this money. However, despite this written statement, Ally has kept my account locked and inaccessible, preventing me from using my account, accessing my provisional credit, or having practical use of the funds they credited.…
I am currently dealing with a serious issue regarding my car and the status of my account. When I originally purchased the vehicle, there was an error on the contract involving the VIN number that was provided by the dealership. I was told by the dealership that they would take care of all the necessary paperwork, so I was not responsible for handling or verifying those details myself. To make matters more complicated, the dealership where the purchase was made is no longer in business, so I am unable to go back to them to correct or address the issue. As a result of the incorrect VIN and registration issues, my car was taken to a tow lot, and I was unable to retrieve it because it was not technically registered under my name. Ally Auto then repossessed the vehicle from the tow lot, and it is currently in their possession. Despite no longer having the car, I am still making monthly payments on the loan.…
As I am nearing the completion of my car loan from Ally Auto, they are suddenly claiming that my account has over {$3000.00} in late fees. However when I reviewed each and every payment since 2018, I found that, on their own website, it shows the correct amount of Finance charges along with Other charges of {$0.00} and Late charges of {$0.00} for every single payment. I called and asked to speak with a supervisor in order to resolve this issue. It took 5 calls and 3 hours of my time until I was finally called back. The supervisor then claimed that they could not waive the fees as I asked because I had asked for fees to be waived before, which I had not done. The only thing that was out of the ordinary was that I took their offer to postpone payments as a part of their COVID disaster plan. Otherwise, I paid every month without fail for the duration of the loan. This treatment by this company is appalling and disturbing.…

Ally froze my account for suspected fraud and has started an internal investigation that has no timeline and i can only be questioned or updated by calling daily and spending over an hour on the phone. I have done nothing wrong and its been nearly a month with no resolution and my funds being held. Ally also has my car loan and I cant pay it because they have me locked out so its now in collection after only a month and one payment not being made. I need this resolution to happen asap. Im not wealthy and live check to check so im in a bad spot because of this. I've escalated and begged and answered all the questions but it just keeps going
I tried to purchase a leather jacket from XXXX for XXXX as well as protection on that jacket. I never received the item and can not contact the merchant though i have tried several times. I disputed the charges as fraud because the item was never sent and appears to be a scam. After XXXX days of waiting for my banks resolution to investigate it, they say they never got a response from the merchant on reversing the charges ( probably because its a scam ) and refused to give my money back. This is a follow up of complaint ID : XXXX
I am submitting this complaint regarding a remaining deficiency balance of approximately {$800.00} on my auto loan with Ally Financial following a total loss of my vehicle. My insurance provider paid the majority of the loan balance, leaving only this remaining amount, which appears to consist largely of accrued interest. I am currently experiencing financial hardship and am not in a position to pay this remaining balance. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter directly with Ally Financial by phone. On several occasions, I was transferred between multiple departments and representatives, including escalation, but was unable to reach a team that could properly review or resolve my request. I was previously advised that my situation would be handled, but no resolution or follow-up has been provided.…
On XX/XX/year>, I had called ally and negotiated my balance to be settled in full for {$7100.00}. I had stressed to them how important it was that I have the settled in full letter before XX/XX/year>. They assured me it would be no issue. I was transferred to a company called ACI pay to do the bank transfer. The person on the other line verified the name and address on the bank account, then proceeded to make XXXX different transactions to make the full paid amount to the agreed upon settlement of {$7100.00}. Upon checking the receipts that were emailed to me, after noticing that the money had not left the account, I noticed they put the wrong name, and several different wrong addresses for the bank transfer, therefor it was returned. I called Ally and explained to them what happened, I was then transferred multiple times and informed my account was closed.…

Company Name : XXXX XXXX ( and Ally Bank as the involved servicer ) Product : Vehicle loan or lease Description of Incident : I am filing this complaint against Axis Chevrolet for unauthorized credit access and deceptive financing practices in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ). On XX/XX/year>, I visited XXXX XXXX to purchase a vehicle. Prior to arrival, I had secured a formal pre-approval from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I explicitly informed the finance department that I would be using my own financing and did not grant permission for the dealership to shop my credit to other lenders. Despite my clear instructions, XXXX XXXX proceeded to run a hard inquiry on my credit report without my written consent. Furthermore, they refused to honor my XXXX XXXX pre-approval and instead forced me into a financing agreement with Ally Bank.…
I purchased and financed a vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX, through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The loan was fully paid off on XX/XX/XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX issued a notarized lien release confirming that there was no remaining balance and no security interest on the vehicle. After the loan was paid and the lien released, a new contract appeared in XX/XX/XXXX with Ally Financial. I did not sign or authorize this contract. Any electronic signature associated with this agreement was not authorized by me and may have been reused from a prior transaction. On XX/XX/XXXX, Ally Financial acknowledged that this account was under fraud investigation, reassigned it to the dealer, and requested that it be removed from my credit report. Despite this, my vehicle was repossessed. This repossession occurred while the account was under fraud review and after Ally had already acknowledged issues with the validity of the account.…
Ally Bank has repeatedly restricted, unrestricted, then re-restricted my checking account and is currently holding approximately {$10000.00} of my funds. My account was suddenly frozen without prior notice, and I am unable to access, withdraw, or transfer my money. I have contacted Ally Bank multiple times regarding this issue, but I have not been given a clear explanation for the restriction or a definitive timeline for when my funds will be released. This lack of transparency and access to my own funds has caused significant financial disruption - including my mortgage payments. At this time, my funds remain inaccessible, and Ally Bank has not provided a reasonable resolution or timeframe. This is not the first time this has occurred, and I no longer have confidence in Ally Banks ability to safely manage my funds.
I completed a lease buyout with Ally Financial in XX/XX/XXXX. Despite the loan being paid off, the lien has not been released to the XXXX XXXX DMV. Beginning in XX/XX/XXXX, I made multiple attempts to resolve this issue by contacting Ally Financial. I have spent significant time on the phone, including being transferred multiple times and placed on extended holds without resolution. I eventually spoke with a supervisor who confirmed that the lien would be released. As of today, the XXXX XXXX DMV still shows Ally Financials lien as open on the current title. This is preventing issuance of my vehicle title, while a new lien from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX remains pending and can not be finalized until the prior lien is removed. I have specifically requested confirmation of an electronic lien release to the XXXX XXXX DMV and the date of transmission, but this information has not been provided.…
I am filing a formal complaint against Ally Financial regarding the repossession of my vehicle and their failure to provide proper communication or opportunity to resolve my account. I purchased my vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX and remained in good standing until XXXX, when I experienced financial hardship after my fianc lost his job. In XX/XX/XXXX, my fianc passed away, which further impacted my financial stability. Despite this, I took responsible action by going to court and paying {$6200.00} to bring my account current. Following that, I entered into a payment arrangement of {$430.00} due on the XXXX of each month starting XX/XX/XXXX. I successfully made every payment on time or early through XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I lost my job and experienced temporary financial hardship. I still made a payment of approximately {$440.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. Although I fell behind for XXXX, I had secured XXXX XXXX benefits and intended to bring my account current immediately upon receiving payment.…
On XX/XX/XXXX, a vehicle transaction was processed through a dealership ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and financed through Ally Financial. I was not provided the opportunity to review or approve any retail installment contract or add-on agreements. The only documents shown were limited DMV/title forms. During the process, I was sent a one-time PIN and instructed to read it back. I was not informed that this PIN would authorize legally binding agreements, nor did I enter it myself. I was then asked to sign blank signature fields, and I believed I was signing only the visible documents. On XX/XX/XXXX, after receiving notice of the loan, I contacted Ally Financial because the financed amount ( {$22000.00} ) was significantly higher than expected, and no contracts had been provided. I later obtained documents showing my name and signature on agreements I never reviewed or authorized, including add-ons totaling {$4300.00} ( service contract and GAP ).…
Ally savings closed my account because I accidentally linked my mother in laws account to my account. I was trying to save the {$20.00} wire fee and send her money from her son who had passed away and left money in our account. They closed my account but never told me when they would send me my money. I have been on the phone with them three times for over 45 minutes. They still haven't given me a timeline on when I will receive my funds. It's been 18 days.

Ally Financial is still reporting an auto loan on my credit that was closed in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX I haven't pulled my credit report in a long time and did not realize it was still on there. I contacted Ally Financial to remove it and I was told that it would be removed and if there was any issues, they would reach out to me. I have not heard anything and it is still showing up. I was actually denied a loan because this loan is still reporting on my credit report.
I am writing to formally document my experience regarding my account. In XXXX, when my payment became due, I made a payment and contacted Ally to explain that I was having issues with the payment process. During that time, I asked if they could adjust or move my payment date, but I was repeatedly told that this was not possible and that I needed to bring the account current. I also attempted to set up a payment arrangement, but the representative informed me that my account was not past due, so no arrangement could be made. All of these efforts occurred prior to XX/XX/year>, when my account was reported. I made multiple attempts to resolve this issue before it was reported. However, each time I contacted customer service, there were no records of my previous calls. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was consistently told that none were available. This lack of continuity and escalation made it extremely difficult to resolve the matter.…
