I am disputing a medical collection account reported by Americollect Inc. for {$500.00}. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a debt validation request via certified mail, which was delivered and confirmed. I requested full validation of the debt, including an itemized statement, proof of the original obligation, and verification of all reported information. As of today, I have not received proper validation of this debt. Despite this, the account continues to be reported on my credit file. Additionally, the account contains inaccurate and incomplete information, including invalid or missing dates reported across credit bureaus. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy and completeness of the reporting. I disputed this account with the credit bureau, and it was marked as verified, despite the presence of inaccurate data and lack of proper validation from the debt collector.

I disputed inaccurate duplicate reporting on my credit file regarding accounts listed by Americollect.Multiple accounts are being reported for the same alleged medical debt, each showing a balance of {$1000.00}. These entries appear to be duplicate listings of the same account, which makes the total amount reported inaccurate and misleading. I previously disputed this issue with the credit bureaus and requested that the company verify the debt and provide documentation showing that each listing represents a separate and valid account. I also requested a breakdown of the amount and proof that I am legally responsible for each reported balance. The company did not provide sufficient documentation or proof that the accounts are separate, yet the duplicate entries remain on my credit report. This duplicate reporting is unfairly harming my credit and financial standing.

They sent me a bill for medical debt that is not my responsibility. I had XXXX XXXX insurance through the state of Wisconsin that should have covered the bill. It is illegal for a provider to send a bill to anyone with medical insurance through the state of XXXX. The provider had my medical insurance information and so did the collector. Last year they posted it on my credit report illegally and it was reported as charged off. As of XXXX it is reported as open and I am now being harassed for the money by their attorney. They extensively damaged my excellent credit score and continue to find new tactics to collect a debt that is legally not mine. They should be taking this up with the insurance company that underwrites my policy through the state of XXXX.

I took my XXXX XXXX XXXX daughter to XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX. She was literally in a fetal position in the floor board of my truck. This bill is for what was out of pocket AFTER my insurance paid. The doctor did absolutely nothing and I just think this bill is ridiculous. The doctor literally came in the room and pushed on my daughters stomach a couple of times. No testing, no IV, no labs or imaging. They checked her XXXX and said it was acid reflux for pain in her stomach. I had to take her to our family doctor and get a referral for a specialist. I just feel this dollar amount is excessive for the doctor not doing anything.

To Whom It May Concern, I am contacting you regarding the above-referenced account. I do not believe this balance is valid, as my insurance plan should have covered these charges in full or in part. Before I take any further steps, I am requesting the following : A full insurance re-billing and claim reprocessing Detailed itemization of the charges, dates of service, and the provider involved A written explanation of why insurance was not billed properly or why coverage was denied Until this insurance review is completed, I am requesting that you stop all mailed collection notices and any further collection activity, as permitted under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This account must remain on hold while insurance is being re-evaluated. This is not an admission of liability. I am disputing the validity of this debt and requesting proper verification and insurance correction.

The medical providers and collection agencies have reported my medical bills to credit reporting companies and XXXXparty debt collectors in a way that I believe violates my privacy rights. I did not authorize them to share detailed information about my medical treatment or bills beyond what is minimally necessary, yet they have disclosed enough information for multiple collectors and credit bureaus to report these debts as medical collections. I am concerned this goes beyond what is allowed under health privacy laws and the limits on what can be shared for credit reporting and collection purposes. Because they have shared and used my medical information improperly and then reported these medical collections inaccurately, I am not asking for a correction or update. I am asking for these medical collection tradelines to be completely removed from my credit reports.

On XX/XX/year>, I contacted the debt collection company ( Americollect ) to dispute an incorrect balance they claimed I owed. The company reported that I owed {$1600.00} for medical services. However, according to my insurance Explanation of Benefits ( EOB ), my actual financial responsibility for the XX/XX/XXXX service was only {$300.00}. I never agreed to pay the full {$1600.00}. I requested validation of the debt and informed the company that the amount they are trying to collect is inaccurate and misrepresents the true amount owed. Despite this, they have continued to pursue the incorrect balance. I believe this violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) because they are attempting to collect an amount that is not valid and not supported by my insurance records. I am requesting CFPB assistance to have the incorrect balance corrected and to ensure the collector provides proper validation and updates their records to reflect the accurate amount.

I called Americollect today. They verified my information and I told I had no idea what the debt was for and she asked for my credit card because she said the system they used needed me to pay them. I told her I wasn't paying them for information they already had, she kept trying to talk over and the last thing I heard was her saying that's our system and you have to pay, I said no and hung up. I didn't even get a letter from them just several voicemail a day.

I am filing this complaint because Americollect is attempting to validate and report duplicate medical debt for the same emergency room visit, which is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). I've been receiving calls for years from Americollect, and I have asked them many times over the years to stop calling because they could not provide any information about the debt they were supposedly trying to collect, they would not even confirm who they were contacting- they wanted me to verify my identity without any information from them. Each time I answered a call and refused to provide information unless they told me what debt they were calling about, the calls would stop for a while and then start again. In the last 6 months they have begun calling from multiple numbers because I began just blocking them as my requests to stop contacting me never worked. Often the numbers look like regular people calling and are not identified in caller ID as Americollect. On XX/XX/year>XXXX I sent them a letter via US Mail requesting they validate the debt they kept calling about.

I received a letter in the mail from americollect stating I owed {$100.00} regarding my sons hospital visit on XX/XX/XXXX. After the visit, I received a bill from the hospital and was advised I was able to set up a payment plan to pay off what was not covered by insurance. I enrolled in the payment plan and completely paid my balance off beginning XX/XX/XXXX with the last payment being on XX/XX/XXXX, bringing my balance to {$0.00} owed. Once I received a letter from americollect demanding payment, I responded in an email demanding collection efforts cease and proof of payment be provided. Sent On XX/XX/XXXX, and received on XX/XX/XXXX, a letter in the mail states I owe a {$0.00} balance and nothing is due, yet they are still demanding I owe THEM {$100.00}. There was no email response to my dispute. And this letter is very contradictory and improper to request money not owed.
