Re : Formal Dispute of Inaccurate Credit Reporting FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally dispute the accuracy of information your company has furnished to the credit reporting agencies regarding the account referenced below. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, specifically 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), a furnisher of information is prohibited from reporting information to a consumer reporting agency if that information is known to be inaccurate. At this time, I have reason to believe that the account you have reported does not meet the standard of accuracy and completeness required under federal law. The information being reported is inaccurate and/or incomplete. I am requesting that you conduct a thorough investigation of this matter.…
I signed a lease for an apartment, but before the lease start date I notified the landlord by email that I would not be moving in. I never took possession of the unit, never received keys, never moved any belongings in, and never set foot on the property as a tenant. After I gave notice, the landlord was able to find another person to take over the lease. Because the unit was re-rented, there should not have been any loss of rent for the time they are now trying to charge me for. I am now being charged for the first two months of rent, and that balance was placed into collections, even though I never moved in and the unit was taken over by someone else. In addition, the price listed on their website was not accurate or clearly presented. The advertised amount did not specifically state that the price was per person, which was misleading and failed to clearly explain the actual rental charge.…
I am filing this complaint against XXXX regarding a fraudulent account reported under my identity, allegedly opened in XX/XX/year>. I have attached my Identity Theft Affidavit and Federal Trade Commission report as supporting documentation, which clearly establishes that I am a victim of identity theft and that unauthorized parties used my personal information without my knowledge or consent. According to the sworn affidavit and report, I did not authorize this account, did not receive any benefit from it, and any associated agreement, signature, or obligation is invalid, fraudulent, and disputed. The continued reporting and enforcement of this account constitutes ongoing harm and a failure to properly investigate and correct fraudulent activity. I am formally demanding a full accounting of this alleged debt and the complete chain of title.…
In XXXX, I signed a lease agreement with the apartment complex ; however, I never took possession of the rental unit. I did not receive keys, did not complete a move-in inspection, did not activate utilities, and never occupied the property at any time. I continued residing at my family home during this period. Despite this, in XXXX a collection account for approximately {$2500.00} was placed on my credit report for this lease. I have disputed this account multiple times with the credit bureaus, but it continues to be verified without proper investigation. I also requested validation of the debt, including proof of possession, occupancy records, and an itemized breakdown of charges, but this information has not been provided. This account is being reported as a valid rental debt despite no tenancy or occupancy ever occurring. I believe this is inaccurate reporting.…
I recently reviewed my credit report and discovered collection account listed as CARTER-YOUNG INC XXXX XXXX which I do not recognize and do not believe is accurate. I have not received proper validation of this alleged debt as required under 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( FDCPA ), which mandates that a debt collector provide validation of the debt upon dispute. Furthermore, under 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( b ) ( FCRA ), furnishers of information are required to conduct a reasonable investigation and report accurate and complete information to the credit bureaus. To date, I have not received any documentation such as the original signed agreement, complete payment history, or proof that these accounts have the legal authority to collect this alleged debt. The continued reporting of unverified and potentially inaccurate information is causing harm to my credit profile.
CARTER- YOUNG INC. XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) {$1000.00} CATER- YOUNG INC. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX ) {$1100.00} As of XX/XX/XXXX, a federal court vacated a CFPB rule that would have banned most medical debt from credit reports. The court found that the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq., permits reporting coded medical debt. Currently, credit bureaus voluntarily exclude paid medical debt, debt under {$500.00}, or debt less than a year old.

I looked at my credit report and a collection charge that I've been trying to dispute for years is still on my report. It is an apartment rental that says the account was opened in XXXX. I've never lived in this place or had anything to do with it. I also lived in a different city at the time of the opening of this account. I called the original company- they didn't have too much information on it, and told me to call the collectors. After speaking to the collectors to explain I don't know the company nor have any affiliation to them, the collectors pulled up documents. The documents stated that I had applied with a co-signer, but I have never applied to the place. I have lived at a place in the same city in XXXX with the same co-signer and I'm not sure if that's where someone got my information, but I was living in a townhouse in XXXX with no intention of moving since it was bought.…

I disputed this debt and requested validation, including proof the debt is mine and that XXXX has authority to collect. They failed to provide proper validation but continue reporting it. Additionally, I was not informed that my insurance was invalid prior to receiving services. The document I signed only mentions possible additional fees and does not clearly disclose costs or confirm coverage. Had I been informed, I would not have proceeded. This debt is inaccurate and should be removed.

I am submitting this complaint against CARTER-YOUNG INC because , after I notified the company that XXXX was attributing another persons collection account to my credit report, the company did not meaningfully assist in correcting the problem. The collection account at issue is for {$6200.00}, with XXXX XXXX listed as the original creditor. The account is associated with XXXX XXXX, not me. My name is XXXX XXXX, and I am a different person. I have never had a middle name. My complaint is that this debt, which belongs to XXXX XXXX, was placed by XXXX on my credit report through a mixed-file / misfiled reporting error. I contacted CARTER-YOUNG INC to explain that this was not my debt and that it was appearing on my credit report by mistake. Instead of helping resolve the matter, I was essentially told that if it was not my account, I should not worry about it. However, the account continued to appear on my credit report and continued to harm me.…

The alleged debt arises from disputed landlord-tenant charges assessed after the end of a residential lease. The charges consisted of improper fees and amounts attributable to normal wear and tear, which I formally disputed in writing shortly after receiving the final statement. I requested documentation and validation of the charges, including an itemized breakdown and proof that the amounts claimed were legally owed. The company did not provide the requested documentation or validation. Despite the ongoing dispute and lack of supporting documentation, the company referred the account to a third-party collection agency. The collection activity relates to amounts that are not owed and were disputed prior to being sent to collections. I have made good-faith efforts to resolve this matter and to obtain supporting information. The companys failure to validate the debt and its decision to pursue collection on a disputed amount is the basis of this complaint.
I am filing a complaint against Carter-Young , Inc. regarding an invalid rental collection being reported to my credit reports. The alleged debt is for an apartment application fee from The XXXX XXXX. I never lived at this property, never signed a lease, and never took possession of a unit. An application fee does not constitute a consumer debt and is not legally collectible or reportable to the credit bureaus. I disputed this account with the credit bureaus. Carter-Young responded by claiming the information was verified but failed to provide any documentation such as a signed lease, proof of occupancy, or a legally itemized balance. Reporting this account violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because the information is inaccurate, unverifiable, and misleading.
I disputed an alleged debt with Carter-Young, Inc. and requested validation under the FDCPA. Carter-Young failed to provide proof that the debt was legally assigned or transferred to them. Despite the debt remaining disputed and unvalidated, Carter-Young reported this account to all three credit bureaus. Reporting a disputed and unvalidated debt constitutes unlawful collection activity under FDCPA 1692g ( b ) and inaccurate furnishing of information under FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 3 ). Carter-Young continues to report this debt without establishing legal standing to collect. I am requesting that Carter-Young cease collection activity, delete the account from all three credit bureaus, and provide written confirmation that the account is closed.
