Beginning XX/XX/2026, I contacted my loan servicer ( CRI ) four times by email because I am unable to access my online account. When attempting to create an account, I receive errors stating either that my information does not match records on file, or that an account already exists. Attempts to recover a username or reset a password loop back without resolution. I have tried multiple email addresses and phone numbers as suggested. I am currently living in XXXX. My phone carrier does not support calls to U.S. numbers, making CRI 's phone support and the Federal Student Aid line completely inaccessible to me. I also can not use CRI 's live chat feature, as it requires logging in which is the problem I am attempting to resolve. Each of CRI 's four email responses has consisted of generic troubleshooting steps I had already completed, or directions to call a phone number I can not reach. No human representative has reviewed my account.…

My federal student loans were transferred from XXXX to Central Research Inc. ( CRI ) in XX/XX/XXXX. I did not receive proper notification of this transfer or my repayment obligations. In its response, CRI acknowledged that communications were sent to an incorrect email address and that mailed statements were returned as undeliverable. This demonstrates that I did not receive proper notice. Additionally, there were discrepancies in my identifying information, including incorrect name and contact details associated with my account during this time. It is concerning that this information has now been corrected, as it suggests inaccurate data was being used when communication attempts and credit reporting occurred. Despite having evidence that communication attempts were unsuccessful, CRI proceeded to report my account as 90 days past due to the credit reporting agencies in XX/XX/XXXX. I was unaware of the repayment obligation prior to this reporting.…
I had a federal student loan and XXXX was my servicer. After years my account was moved to CRI. When it was moved to CRI my payment changed from {$230.00} to {$300.00} due to a 24 month increase policy they have which was ok. This month ( XX/XX/year> ) I received a letter from CRI stating my loan was miscalculated and my new payment was {$450.00} a month. When I tried to get written documentation of how this mistake happened, how the new payment was calculated and how come my payment had increased 200 % in less than a year, CRI told me they dont have any track record so no documentation could be provided.

This debt is associated with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, an institution that permanently closed on XX/XX/XXXX, following documented systemic financial fraud and a total loss of federal Title IV eligibility. The inclusion of this debt on my credit profile is inaccurate and predatory based on the following federal findings and institutional failures : 1. Proven Misappropriation of Federal Funds In XX/XX/XXXX, the U.S. Department of Education ( ED ) fined XXXX & XXXX {$4.00} XXXX and cut off all Title IV aid. The EDs investigation found that the university " illegally took more financial aid than it was due '' and " misused Title IV funds to the detriment of its students.…
CRI/ federal student loans started sending me bills for student loans they say they bought from XXXX. I sent a certified letter asking for accuracy, validity, and enforceability of this account. With the security problems with XXXX being hacked my personal information may be exposed and just wanted this information provided. I sent a letter to them requesting information to and no response from the but still sent me another bill in the mail but no response to the dispute.
I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved student loan servicing error. My loan account was impacted by a known system error communicated by my loan servicer ( CRI ), which caused my account to revert to a prior repayment status and display an incorrect, significantly higher payment amount. I was informed by the servicer that : The issue was a system-wide error The Department of Education is aware and working on remediation My account would be corrected My credit would not be impacted A formal letter of explanation would be sent I was later told the issue was expected to be resolved by XX/XX/year>. That date has now passed, and : My account balance and amount due are still incorrect I have not received any written communication or formal explanation No clear timeline for resolution has been provided My account continues to reflect a falsely inflated amount due Despite this, I have continued to make my normal monthly payments in good faith.…

I am submitting this complaint regarding inaccurate and unverifiable credit reporting by my federal student loan servicer, Central Research , Inc. ( CRI ). CRI reported a serious delinquency ( XXXX XXXX past due ) to the credit bureaus without my receiving proper written notice prior to adverse reporting. I have requested documentation of : The date any delinquency notice was sent The address used The method of delivery ( mail or electronic ) Proof of any consent to electronic delivery To date, no such documentation has been provided. I disputed this information with the credit bureaus, including XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. In each case, the account was verified by the furnisher, yet no meaningful explanation or documentation was provided. I also requested the method of verification from the credit bureaus. However, I did not receive a compliant response identifying the documents reviewed, the method of verification, or how the delinquency and notice requirements were substantiated.…
I am frustrated by the fact my Student loan repayment plan ( XXXX ) has been reversed to a standard repayment plan without my knowledge, permission or notice of error by CRI. I checked my account and noticed the increased repayment amount for my loans and called the servicer in late XXXX. They first informed that the normal {$220.00} will still auto-debit on the XX/XX/year> in accordance with my known plan rate. This did not happen. I followed up on the issue by phone call on XX/XX/year>XXXX to know when my account would be corrected. They then provided the option of reenrolling in the XXXX XXXX at an increased monthly payment rate, and this simply can not do as the site explicitly states that the payment amounts for my plan would not increase for 24 months while being on the plan. The other option was to simply not pay and risk a late payment mark on my credit report.…

I never attended the school, nor did I complete any college-level coursework. Additionally, I never graduated XXXX XXXX and enrollment at this institution requires a XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX. Because I was ineligible to attend the school, I should not have any financial obligations or loans related to this account.
I am submitting this complaint regarding inaccurate credit reporting associated with my account reported by Central Research , Inc. My account number is XXXX and my name is XXXX XXXX XXXX My underlying student loan account was current prior to XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted my loan servicer and requested a deferment/forbearance. Records of this request should exist in the servicing notes associated with the account. However, the request was not processed at that time due to a servicing or system error. Because the deferment request was not processed when it was originally submitted, the account was subsequently reported as delinquent, including 90 days late in XX/XX/XXXX and 120+ days late in XX/XX/XXXX. These delinquencies were reported to the credit bureaus even though a deferment request had already been submitted on XX/XX/XXXX.…

I am disputing the reporting of a 90-day delinquency for XX/XX/year> and XX/XX/year> on the following account : Account Name : CRI / XXXX XXXX XXXX Account Number : XXXX Your agency is currently reporting that the account was 90 days late in XX/XX/year> and again in XX/XX/year>. At some point during XXXX, my student loans were removed from deferment status, and the servicer of these loans was also transferred. CRI became the effective servicer of the loans on a date that has not been clarified to me, however the notification was sent to an address I was no longer residing at, and an email account that has been active for 10+ years, both of these statements were confirmed on a call on XX/XX/XXXX. Due to the failure of proper notice, I have been unable, and frankly confused about how to pay my student loans as my XXXX account was no longer active. Upon investigation into my credit report it became clear to me CRI was now the servicer to which I was not aware, and they were also reporting multiple late payments across every loans for various months, effectively tumbling my personal XXXX XXXX XXXX points, making obtaining financing, credit, and even residence difficult or impossible to obtain.
I am submitting this complaint regarding the inaccurate derogatory reporting of my federal student loan accounts furnished under the authority of the * * U.S. Department of Education * * and reported by * * XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX * *. These accounts are currently being reported as delinquent or derogatory despite the fact that I was enrolled in school during the time period in which the alleged delinquency occurred. I submitted documentation verifying my enrollment status, which should have placed the loans in an in-school deferment status. Despite receiving this documentation, the furnisher responsible for reporting the account failed to update the loan status to reflect my enrollment and the credit reporting agencies failed to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation after receiving my disputes and supporting documentation. Reporting these loans as delinquent while I was actively enrolled in school is inaccurate and fails to reflect the true status of the account.…
I am filing a complaint regarding unauthorized increases to my automatic student loan payments by my loan servicer, XXXX. My agreed-upon automatic payment amount was {$270.00} per month with My Great Lakes/Nel-Net that was then transferred over to XXXX. Beginning in XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX increased the amount withdrawn from my bank account to {$350.00} per month without any prior notification, explanation, or authorization from me to modify the payment amount. These higher withdrawals continued for multiple months. I did not receive any communication explaining the change until XX/XX/XXXX, when XXXX sent a letter stating that a recent review of my account identified that my payment tiers had been misidentified, which resulted in a miscalculation of my monthly payment amount. This situation is concerning because : XXXX changed the amount of my preauthorized automatic debit without notifying me in advance.…
I recently became aware that my federal student loan servicer had changed as part of the federal student loan servicing transfers. I was not properly notified that my loans had been moved to a new servicer. The contact information the servicer had on file for me was outdated, and I did not receive any correspondence or communication about the transfer of my loans or any required payments. Because I did not receive notification of the servicer change or payment requirements, my loans were reported as delinquent to the credit bureaus. This caused a significant drop in my credit score of approximately XXXX points. Once I became aware of the issue, I immediately contacted the servicer and took action to address the account. My account has now been placed in forbearance while I work with the servicer to resolve the situation.…
I saw on my credit report that my score dropped significantly as I was trying to get a new car and mortgage and then my student loan which was in deferment was marked XXXX days late from a company I had no knowledge about. When I contacted XXXX financial they said they transferred it over to different company in XX/XX/year> and sent me a email stating so. When I told them never received anything or knowledge of it was told they couldnt do anything about it as they no longer have the account. When I contacted the new company they said they they couldnt help because it was already reported so wasnt there problem. I have never been late on any payments and explained that to them as I was still trying to figure out my account with them
In XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I was notified by Credit Karma of an account that was opened and they wanted me to verify it was me. This is when I discovered someone had somehow used my identity to get a student loan with little to no effort. There was XXXX separate loans that occurred at the same time and I filed a complaint with the FTC for Identity Theft and also filed a Loan Discharge Application with The Department of Education. I then provided this information to CRI of which they were totally an absolutely unhelpful in the matter. They would only tell me what college the loan was for and that it was " me '' who did it. I told them it was not me and was identity theft and provided them via email all of the proof showing that it was not me and that they needed to remove the loan that was falsely under my name was it was an act of identity theft and even after I provided all of the information asked of me they refused.…

The loan servicing company placed my student loans in forbearance without notifying me. When I called, they told me that my loans were still accruing interest and payment were not being made. When I went into my online portal, I attempted to submit a one time transaction to make up for the difference in what they were representing on my " minimum payment ''. I have a financial plan set out that relies on a specific dollar amount to be paid on a regular basis so that I can pay off my loans by a specific date ( XXXX ). So, here are the complaints : 1. My loans were placed in forbearance with NO communications to me. 2. After loans being placed in forbearance, my minimum monthly payment and auto debit decreased by several XXXX dollars. There was no notification of that change. This change did 2 things : 2.a. First, it stopped making payments on various loans. These loans are now accruing interest with no payment although I desire to make payment. 2.b.…
I am a XXXX completing an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Under 34 CFR 685.205 ( a ) ( 3 ), my loan servicer is required to grant me mandatory forbearance because I am serving in a medical fellowship program leading to board eligibility. CRI has zero discretion here. This is a federal regulatory obligation, not a courtesy. Approximately 40 days ago, CRI removed me from forbearance without notice. I did not receive written notification that my forbearance was expiring. I was not informed of my right to renew under mandatory forbearance. CRI simply let it lapse and generated roughly {$700.00} in charges against my account. I remained continuously eligible for mandatory forbearance throughout this entire period ; nothing about my training status changed. I want CRI required to answer three specific questions : ( 1 ) Did CRI send me written notice that my forbearance was expiring? ( 2 ) On what date, and by what method?…
I am writing to formally dispute the reporting of XXXX and XXXX late payments for the above-referenced account, which appear on my credit report for XXXX, XXXX and XX/XX/year>. These derogatory marks are inaccurate and do not reflect the true status of my loan during that period. In XX/XX/year>, I submitted a request for deferment due to financial hardship following job loss. That request was approved, and deferment was confirmed to be in effect from XX/XX/year> through XX/XX/year>. I have included a copy of my confirmation of approval sent to me on XX/XX/year>. As such, this account should have been placed in deferment status before the late marks were reported. Reporting it as XXXX and XXXX days delinquent is inaccurate and harmful to my credit profile.
