On XX/XX/year>, Citizens Bank initiated an ACH debit of {$1800.00} from my PeoplesBank account for an external transfer to my Citizens Bank account. The funds were successfully debited from my XXXX account. The credit to my Citizens account failed, and Citizens Bank stated that they initiated a return of the funds back to XXXX under claim number XXXX. XXXX has confirmed that they have the XXXX XXXX number and searched their ACH and EFT systems using the trace number, account numbers, name, SSN, and date ranges, and confirmed that they never received the returned funds. Since the return did not settle to XXXX, the {$1800.00} debited on XX/XX/year> must still be held on Citizens Banks side. Citizens Bank has not provided proof that the return settled or identified where the funds are currently being held. I am requesting that Citizens Bank provide proof of settlement for the ACH return or identify the current ledger location of the {$1800.00} and return the funds to me.

Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to file a formal complaint and request assistance regarding ongoing identity theft that I have been experiencing since XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, my New York State learner permit and other personal documents were stolen from my mailbox at my local XXXX post office. For nearly two months, I did not receive any mail. After repeated attempts to resolve the issue, the United States Post Office informed me in writing that the mailbox had been vandalized. Since that time, an unknown individual has been using my stolen identity to commit financial fraud. This person has opened multiple bank accounts and applied for credit cards in my name. More recently, they contacted the post office and placed a hold on my mail, which has prevented me from receiving important correspondence. On XX/XX/XXXX, the fraudulent individual went to my mobile carrier store and used my identification to obtain a replacement SIM card.

My escrow account was recalculated and payment increased effective XX/XX/year>. I incorrectly entered the date as XXXX. When I realized my error I had my bank ( I use online bill pay service ) issue another check to make up the difference. I also called them to let them know I knew and had corrected the error. AT NO TIME did they say, oh well too bad you can't do that. We'll be sending your check back. Today I opened my mail to find they returned my initial payment. I assume that they'll also send the other payment back. This is RIDICULOUS! Now, I have to come up with an additional {$4000.00} to make the payment while all these checks travel around.

I can not see how much of the loan is paid, or if I am getting credit on the loan with my regular auto payments.

In XXXX, I was informed by a representative that I could make payments within the same month as long as they were made after the XXXX. Based on that guidance, I followed instructions and made my payments accordingly. XXXX payment was made in XXXX, and XXXX payments were made in XXXX during a single call on or around XXXX XXXX. These payments were processed by a Citizens Bank representative while I was required to call in and did not have the ability to make payments independently. After these payments were made, I was later informed that I had been removed from the trial payment plan because payments must be made in the specific month they are due. This requirement was not previously communicated to me and contradicts the guidance I was given in XXXX.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding ongoing difficulties with my Citizens Bank XXXX XXXX account. I have been unable to access XXXX and other essential online banking features because the phone number linked to my profile is outdated. While the bank was able to update part of my phone number, the original number still remains in the system. This outdated number is still being triggered for XXXX and other key features, preventing me from enrolling or verifying transactions. I contacted customer service several times and was told to visit a branch. After XXXX visit, I was redirected to the original branch where I opened my account. Despite spending over XXXX hours there, the staff still couldnt fully resolve the issue. Furthermore, I find it extremely unprofessional that the customer service agents do not have the ability to delete the outdated phone number. Instead, they rely on a chat with the back office via a chat box, rather than directly resolving the issue.

On XX/XX/scrub>XXXX XXXX XXXX I received an email from Citizens Bank about a new checking account that I opened with them. The email stated it was a 'One Deposit Checking ' with no opening deposit amount. In the email I was given an applicant ID. I was sent the disclosure forms and agreements in a separate email. I had never heard of Citizens Bank so I did not click on any links and immediately looked up the bank and called their customer service line. We exchanged information and they verified that there was an account opened in my name. I was promptly transfered to a supervisor who quickly resolved the issue and terminated the account. The supervisor then advised me to report fraud with the 3 major credit bureaus and then file a complaint with ftc.gov. The supervisor at Citizens Bank gave me a confirmation number for the closing of the account and I gave him my contact information if they had further questions or concerns.

Private client of my bank w/ savings/checking of over $ XXXX, annuities over $ XXXX. They said I needed EARNED INCOME to qualify. I clarified : a JOB? Yes! they said. My XXXX XXXX account was sold to Citizens Bank at the beginning of 2022. Since then, I have had several issues and have been mostly dissatisfied. I approached XXXX this year and they have reopened an account for me. I want to transfer the balance of my Citizens Bank account to XXXX. I called to do so and was told that my funds were frozen. I asked what steps I should take to unfreeze the account and move forward with the transfer. Nobody will tell me. Since Monday, I have spoken to 2 people from the customer service number and I called the last branch I was in. Nobody can tell me what the problem is or how to solve it. I tried calling the XXXX and XXXX number ( XXXX ) XXXX but that department is closed because of unforeseen circumstances (?!? ). If I knew what the problem was, I could probably solve it, but no one will tell me. I am told that a letter will be sent to me. They " supposedly '' sent me a check earlier this year as I had paid more than I owed on my credit card.

On the XXXX, which is the day I set up auto pay and forgot, I was charged {$230.00} from my savings to make a payment on my credit card, but there was nothing to pay, so it just shows XXXX in the green. I called the Citizens credit card assistance number on the back of my card, and I was told that the {$480.00} still hasn't posted, so they won't send me {$250.00} that I am owed, and the credit card balance is still on {$16.00} because my {$480.00} hasn't posted, but the app says it has. Basically, I have {$480.00} that's been taken and not even applied to my bill, and an additional {$250.00} overcharged and being withheld. I have a series of bills coming up, so I need this money. The money I sent on the XXXX should have posted by now, so I believe something is going on.

I am filing this complaint regarding Citizens Banks denial of a fraud claim involving {$36000.00} in unauthorized debit card transactions on my account. My debit card and mobile phone were stolen, and shortly afterward multiple fraudulent transactions were made using my debit card information. I reported the theft and the unauthorized transactions to Citizens Bank promptly and filed a fraud claim. Despite the clear circumstances of theft and unauthorized activity, Citizens Bank denied my fraud claim and has not provided adequate documentation or evidence explaining how it concluded that the transactions were authorized. Under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ) and Regulation E, financial institutions are required to conduct a reasonable investigation when a consumer reports unauthorized electronic fund transfers. If a claim is denied, the bank must provide a clear explanation of the findings and make available the documentation used in its determination.

The " IRS Notice : XXXX '' letter claims a tax deficiency because I did not file XXXX Personal Tax Returns included CITIZENS BANK XXXX 1099-C Form ( Cancellation of Debt ). However, I have never had any business with CITIZENS BANK. No loan, No credit/debit cards opened, No savings/Checking accounts and no mortgage account whatsoever with the bank. In early XX/XX/year> I received a letter in the mail with an offer to apply for a HELOC with Citizens Bank. If I would take out a {$200000.00} HELOC and setup autopay, the XXXX would be decreased by 1 %. So, I took advantage and applied. I began working with XXXX XXXX ( XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) and XXXX XXXX as my loan advisors. I was granted a pre-approval on XXXX. Over the next several weeks I was asked for several documents to secure the loan, all of which I submitted. At this point, they owed me two more payments and finally returned them but accidentally made the one payment twice and then they went in and took it back and charged me {$120.00} in fees and now they have a collection agency after me when someone that works for their bank gave away my father 's name and account number stole money from me and now they're coming after me... below is my initial contact with you this is still not resolved and I don't like that you guys keep closing it when it's not resolved you didn't even ask me if it was resolved.... I am tired of stressing over it My original complaint...... My father passed in 2021, for his estate I opened a checking account.

Every time I deposit money into my Citizens account, they claim that theyre waiting for the other financial institution to get back to them seven days later the money is withdraw from my account as a chargeback for no reason at all, and they overdraw my account into the negatives when I asked them what was the reason they dont give me a reason all that they had to do a charge back the check wasnt accurate mistakes were made on the check where the check was wrote out wrongly some excuse not a proper excuse, Ive called the highest of the highest in the bank to investigate, and Ive still got no response. My account constantly is frozen for fraud, even though Im the one verifying it and every time I go to verify myself over the phone, they can never pull up my account.

I have asked to be taken off and was told they could not take me off until it's paid off. I did not give permission to be on the line of credit. I tried to dispute it but the bank says that for real I can't get it taken off my credit report.
