They're customer service was completely AI, uncaring and inflexible.

Im in between jobs and literally broke and literally havent eaten in days. I got someone to cashapp me 50 bucks I needed it in my card so I transferred it to my XXXX card to use it for groceries. I went and it was declined and I had to put everything back and waste the last bit of gas I had. Because XXXX took out the money from my card to pay the advance without my consent or without me knowing. I had another bank account that I was using to pay their advances and was going to pay it as soon as I was paid. If I had the money already I wouldve paid it but I dont so they took my only grocery money and refuse to pay me back. The person I talked to twice on chat I believe their name was XXXX was extremely rude and unhelpful. I called asking for a supervisor they said they would take my info and call me back and never did.

reported an unauthorized charge on my account, and as a result, my debit card was canceled. Since that time, I have been unable to obtain a replacement digital or physical card. I have contacted customer support multiple times over the past XXXX weeks, and each time I am told that my case has been escalated and to wait XXXX business days. Despite complying with these instructions repeatedly, no resolution has been provided. At this point, I do not have access to a digital card, nor am I able to request or receive a physical card through the app. As a result, I am effectively locked out of accessing my own money. Additionally, the alternative withdrawal options provided are not reasonable or accessible : There is a {$2000.00} monthly withdrawal limit, which restricts my ability to access my full balance. I am unable to transfer funds to an external bank account due to an outstanding XXXX balance, which further prevents me from accessing my funds.

I am filing this complaint against Dave Inc. for failing to honor a legal revocation of ACH authorization. On [ XX/XX/26 ], I formally notified Dave Inc. via their in-app support chat that I was revoking authorization for an upcoming debit scheduled for [ XX/XX/26 ] in the amount of [ XXXX ]. Under Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( Regulation E ), 12 CFR 1005.10 ( c ) and NACHA Operating Rules 2.3.2, I have the right to stop payment by providing notice at least three business days before the scheduled transfer. Despite providing this notice, Dave Inc. representatives explicitly stated the payment was 'not eligible for revocation ' because it was a 'one-time authorization. 'This is a direct violation of federal law which does not allow companies to contract away a consumer 's right to stop a payment.

I sent them a message to revoke ach access because that is my legal right as a consumer and instead of them doing so they deny my request stating that the cash advance ( XXXX ) is a one time process every time. They continuously try to make loopholes to not follow through and will not delete my debit card from their database. I stated that this is a direct violation of my rights and they have also disregarded that so i am now reporting them because I dont know what my other options are. Ive tried disputing a fraudulent transaction with XXXX multiple times now from a wire that was made at the end of last year for XXXX. And submitted police reports and other evidence supporting my claim, and theyve denied it more than 3 times without a valid reason behind it. This has been a nightmare going back and forth with. The customer service and the way Ive been treated is absolutely horrible.

I downloaded the app Dave, began the signal process then when it revealed it had fees ( after having me provide account and routing numbers for my bank, presumably to offer me an interest free loan ) I declined and uninstalled the app. They signed me up for their subscription anyway and began charging me a monthly fee. The company demands endless additional personal information before they will return my stolen money.

While I acknowledge that I have had late payments, the actions taken by XXXX feel excessive, punitive, and lacking transparency. My ability to obtain an advance has been significantly restricted, and it has become much harder for me to qualify. I have not been provided with a clear explanation of the criteria being used, how eligibility is determined, or what specific steps I must take to restore my previous standing. Additionally, I am deeply concerned that I may be experiencing discriminatory treatment. The way my account has been restricted feels targeted and unfair. I am requesting a formal review to ensure that XXXX policies are being applied consistently and without regard to race. Consumers are entitled to equal treatment under the law, and any form of disparate treatment raises serious concerns.

I am submitting this complaint regarding repeated unauthorized debit card transactions by the merchant Dave , Inc., despite my prior revocation of authorization and a stop payment placed with my bank ( XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX charged my debit card {$35.00} after I had already revoked authorization for them to debit my account in XX/XX/XXXX and after my bank ( XXXX ) had blocked the merchant. I disputed this charge with my bank, and that dispute is currently open. On XX/XX/XXXX, the same issue occurred again. I temporarily unlocked my debit card for approximately one second in order to complete an unrelated purchase at a different merchant. Immediately upon unlocking the card, Dave processed a {$15.00} debit, even though authorization had already been revoked and a stop payment was still in place and was confirmed again on XX/XX/XXXX.

I am writing to report Dave.com for a violation of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ) and 12 CFR 1005.10 ( c ) regarding my right to revoke ACH authorization. On XX/XX/year>, I formally notified Dave via email to revoke my authorization for any future ACH and debit transfers from my XXXX account. Despite my clear legal request, Dave has intentionally delayed the process by creating " unreasonable barriers to revocation. '' As of today, XX/XX/year>, Dave support has sent five separate requests for redundant verification after my initial email. I have already provided : My full legal name and details. Confirmation of my date of birth. A picture of my government-issued ID. A selfie for identity verification. Even after providing these sensitive documents, Dave support continues to ask for additional information, effectively blocking my right to stop payments. This is a " dark pattern '' intended to keep access to my bank account.

I ask several times for them to revoke authorization to withdraw funds, and they keep telling me they won't. I have removed them from plaid and they still find a way to get the money. I was intending on stopping and late paying back because of financial difficulties, but these practices are making me think otherwise. Dave Inc was placed on my credit consolidation account. Their account was discontinued as they were placed on my account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. After XXXX had already contacted Dave Inc to let them know that the Dave Inc account was going to be resolved through credit consolidation, Dave Inc went in my account WITHOUT my permission and took ALL the money from my account. I reported them to the bank and the XXXX XXXX XXXX. They want me to send my XXXX over the Internet but has a history of confidential personal information leaks so I did not send it. I'm not paying them when the account is getting resolved through the credit consolidation company. They have been steady harassing me about my XXXX information and won't stop. I need them to stop because the bank and the consolidation are going to handle the situation.

During the period from XX/XX/year> onward, unauthorized transactions were made through XXXX XXXX using funds connected to my Dave Banking account. I did not authorize these transactions and did not have possession of my phone at the time they occurred. Once I became aware of the activity, I contacted both Dave Banking and XXXX XXXX immediately to report the unauthorized transactions and request a refund. I provided all requested information, including transaction details and an explanation that my phone had been lost or stolen. Despite reporting the issue promptly, the companies failed to properly investigate the unauthorized activity and did not issue a refund. I repeatedly requested documentation showing how the transactions were authorized and confirmation of when my money would be returned, but I did not receive a clear explanation or fair resolution.

Funds deducted from my account although Im currently in the middle of an active bankruptcy and Dave was informed and provided with my bankruptcy case number. I reached out a few different times to refund the funds they drafted from my account, was told that the matter was being escalated. I did receive one email for the bankruptcy information, but no further action was taken. When I followed up regarding the email, the representative stated that the matter was being escalated. Now account is suspended so I cant contact customer service.

This month, I needed to pay by debit card, and authorized them to run my virtual card through my Dave checking, the account I use to make the ACH payment each month. The payment got declined, so I called customer service to find out why. They told me to use my physical card and I tried. That transaction also declined. I chatted with a representative on the Dave app. They said the company was flagged as fraudulent. Dave said they could not approve the transaction, and no transaction would go through for XXXX XXXX XXXX, even though I have been making monthly payments to them through this account for almost one year. Due to this being a debt resolution law firm, it is causing me undue financial hardship and stress. The monthly payment is {$320.00}. This is the first time I have had an issue making this payment.

Well by the time I got off of work XXXX of the transactions were now approved for {$150.00} and {$150.00}. They were to XXXX food restaurants in states over XXXX miles away. The Dave support team keeps denying my disputes stating they were authorized. There is not a way to talk to a live person about this. They just keep sending me a denial letter. Then today I also get an email stating the account is over drawn. I havent used it other than to take a paycheck off of it.

I received a cash advance from Dave in the amount of XXXX XXXX with a required repayment period of five days. At the time of the advance, I was charged a total of XXXX XXXX in costs. This included a fee associated with the advance itself and a monthly membership fee that is charged regardless of whether a loan is taken. Given the very short repayment period, the total cost to borrow XXXX XXXX for five days was XXXX XXXX, which is a significant portion of the amount borrowed. After reviewing these charges, I contacted Dave to raise concerns about the fees and the repayment terms. After I raised these concerns, my account was deleted. When I attempted to access the app again, I was prompted to enroll as if I had never had an account. Because my account was deleted, I no longer have access to my loan records, fee breakdown, or repayment information.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received a Dave XXXX advance totaling {$300.00}, with fees bringing the settlement amount to {$300.00}. I authorized Dave to debit a single payment of {$300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. That debit failed due to insufficient funds. After that, Dave made XXXX unauthorized withdrawals without my consent : {$5.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, {$5.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, {$5.00} on XXXX, and {$2.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. These withdrawals were made using both XXXX and XXXX debit. I did not authorize multiple or variable withdrawals, and I did not authorize any payments after XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Dave via in-app chat to revoke authorization and stop further debits. Dave acknowledged my request but stated they cant complete this request and later stated theres no stop. Dave also refused to refund or credit the {$17.00} already taken, and my balance still shows the full {$300.00}.

No merchant authorization documentation was provided. The company did not supply transaction authentication records, IP address data, device fingerprinting, or other evidence demonstrating customer approval of the charges. A request for reconsideration and supporting documentation was made, but the company maintained its denial without providing the requested information.

I revoked authorization for electronic fund transfers from Dave in writing, citing the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E ( 12 CFR 1005.10 ( c ) ). Daves representative repeatedly statedincorrectlythat revocation of authorization does not apply to a single scheduled electronic debit and refused to honor the revocation, relying on internal policy and contract language rather than federal law. Regulation E allows a consumer to revoke authorization for any electronic fund transfer scheduled for the future, including a one-time debit, at any time prior to the transfer occurring. Contract terms do not override federal law. Despite clear written notice, the representative refused to confirm removal of payment authorization and ended the chat without resolving the issue. I am not disputing the existence of the debt.

So I had a suspicion that my bank account was slowly draining. I asked my bank provider ( Dave, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to investigate it. They said they only saw my XXXX subscription ( {$10.00} ) and my auto loan ( {$300.00} ) I pay those every month. Anywho, I knew something was off, they insisted that there was absolutely no suspicious activity on my account. Granted I was actively checking too, I couldnt see any. Then I get my 6 month statement, I have 24 total transactions starting on XX/XX/scrub>XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from a company called XXXX. The transactions were almost daily, ranging from {$20.00} to {$100.00}! And the ONLY solution they provided me was a new card. I had over {$860.00} stolen from me, all charges from Florida, I live in NC and never even been to Florida.

As I was completing the process of signing up, the app abruptly closed me out and gave me a screen saying my account is on hold for security purposes and that someone would reach out by email. I have yet to recieve an email but yesterday on XX/XX/XXXX I noticed I was charged XXXX dollars for the app yet I haven't been able to access the account still due to security purposes. I have tried calling but they have no help line you must have a card number to even get to talk to someone, but I have no daves card number to give them. I have sent an email to a help center but they have done nothing but ask me for pictures to verify that im who I say I am.

The bank account that was debited was never authorized by me for ExtraCash repayment. I did not add, update, or approve this account in the Dave app, nor did I provide written, electronic, or verbal authorization for Dave to modify my banking information or withdraw funds from this account. Despite the lack of authorization, Dave altered my banking information and withdrew funds. This constitutes an unauthorized electronic fund transfer under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ) and Regulation E. I contacted Dave to dispute the transaction and requested an immediate reversal.
