This CFPB complaint is also a formal request for debt validation to Eastern Account System under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and a dispute of the accuracy and completeness of the account under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). My attached letter outlines the documents required to lawfully validate the alleged debt, including the original signed agreement, proof of ownership or assignment, the purchase or transfer agreement, and a complete accounting of the balance. To assess the legal standing and enforceability of this debt, I have also requested the following : The Date of First Delinquency ( DOFD ), as recorded by the original creditor and used to determine default and charge-off status. The date the account was charged off. The date the account was acquired or assigned to Eastern Account System, along with any documentation confirming the nature of the transfer.…
I am writing to formally request debt validation for a collection account mentioned in a letter I recently received. Under my rights through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), I ask that your office provide clear proof that the debt is valid. This should include the name of the original creditor, the amount owed, a full payment record, and proof that I am responsible for this debt. I am making this request to ensure the information being reported is accurate and not the result of a mistake, fraud, or confusion. While waiting for proper validation, I ask that you pause all collection activity and reporting related to this account, as allowed by law.

I am filing a new complaint regarding Eastern Account System due to inaccurate and inconsistent reporting of a collection account on my credit report. Eastern Account System has provided conflicting information regarding the balance of this alleged debt. In their prior response, they stated the balance is {$1300.00}. However, my credit report reflects a balance of {$320.00} for this same account. This discrepancy renders the account inaccurate and unverifiable under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Additionally, XXXX claims notices were sent and not returned undeliverable, but this does not constitute proof that I received proper validation as required under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). I do not recall receiving proper notice and was not given a meaningful opportunity to dispute prior to credit reporting.…
When I previously lived in XXXX XXXX. I had a dumpster supplied to my rental for trash removal from a local company in town called " XXXX XXXX " after approximately a year I was visited by a representative from " XXXX XXXX XXXX informing me that they had purchased XXXX XXXX and I would now be dealing with them. A year went by and then the price increases began, when I called to cancel them they said the paper I had signed was a XXXX year contract and if I cancelled service I would owe over {$2000.00}. At the same time they were trying to get me to sign a new contract for XXXX yrs. but only holding the discount price for XXXX yr. When I signed the paper with their representative originally nothing was ever mentiond about a contract for XXXX yrs. I was a tenant at will on the property and never would have knowingly signed.…
I am filing a complaint regarding inaccurate credit reporting by Eastern Account System. This account is being reported on my credit file and is disputed in its entirety. I have previously requested validation of this debt and have not received proper documentation to support their claim. Despite this, the company continues to report the account to credit bureaus, including Experian, without providing sufficient verification. I am requesting that the company provide : The original signed contract or agreement Complete payment history Proof of my legal obligation to this debt Documentation showing they are authorized to collect and report this debt If they are unable to provide this documentation, I am requesting that they immediately cease reporting and request deletion of this account from all credit reporting agencies. I am also requesting that the credit bureaus ensure that only accurate and verifiable information remains on my credit file.…
I noticed a collection account being reported on my credit report that I do not recognize and do not believe belongs to me. I formally requested validation of this alleged debt, including a copy of the original signed agreement, full account history, and proof that I am legally responsible for the account. The company has failed to provide sufficient documentation to verify that this debt is mine. Despite the lack of proper validation, the company continues to report this account on my credit report, which is negatively impacting my credit. I am requesting that this account be investigated and removed immediately if the company can not provide proper verification that this debt belongs to me.
I am disputing an inaccurate collection account arising from alleged unreturned XXXX equipment. I returned the modem/equipment and have documentary proof of return and delivery. Despite this, XXXX continued to treat the equipment as unreturned, allowed the account to be placed in collections, and verified the debt as valid to XXXX after I disputed it. I previously contacted XXXX directly and provided proof that the equipment was returned. XXXX ignored or failed to properly investigate the evidence and did not correct the reporting. As a result, false negative information remains on my credit report and has caused significant credit harm, including a major drop in my credit score. I request the following relief : 1. Immediate investigation by XXXX compliance department XXXX. Deletion of the inaccurate collection account from TransUnion and any other credit bureaus to which it was reported XXXX. Written confirmation that the account balance is {$0.00} and no debt is owed XXXX.…
I have been receiving text messages with a hyper link for payment but no explanation of what the payment is for. I called the company and spoke with XXXX about the text messages and she needed to verify my information and identity. I was then informed that it would be a {$1.00} fee for the information.
Subject : Complaint Against Eastern Account System Improper Collection Reporting and Failure to Provide Documentation To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this formal complaint against Eastern Account System regarding improper handling of a collection account that is currently affecting my credit report and financial standing. On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid in full a debt originally associated with XXXX. This account was sent to collections due to an error on XXXX part. Prior to this, I never received any written notice, validation letter, or communication from Eastern Account System regarding this alleged debt, as required by law. I became aware of this collection only after it appeared on my credit report. Immediately upon discovering it, I contacted Eastern Account System and paid the balance in full. At that time, I was assured that they would provide me with a written letter confirming the resolution of the account and assist in removing the collection from my credit report.…
I am disputing this account because the company has failed to provide proper validation of the alleged debt. I requested verification, including proof of ownership, a signed agreement, and an itemized statement of charges, but no sufficient documentation has been provided. Despite this, the company continues to report and/or attempt to collect this account. Additionally, the documentation provided contains inconsistent and conflicting information. I received multiple statements showing different account numbers and phone numbers, which raises serious concerns about the accuracy and reliability of their records. This inconsistency suggests the account has not been properly verified and may not be valid. Reporting a debt without proper verification is inaccurate and misleading. Without sufficient documentation, there is no proof that this debt is valid or that I am legally responsible.…
This is a follow-up on previously closed claim : XXXX Below is the company response : Company 's Response Eastern Account System takes great pride in our approach, the way we communicate and maintain compliancy. Eastern Account System is a third-party collection agency that works on our clients behalf. Eastern Account System is not the original creditor. Eastern Account System sent a notice allowing time to dispute, pay or validate the debt prior to credit reporting. ( 60+ days ) The account was paid after it was reported to the bureaus. Eastern does not do pay for delete ; this violates our contract with the credit bureaus if we remove entries without just cause. An exception has been made and it has been requested to have the account removed from credit reporting. Please allow time for the bureaus to update your records. The negative report was removed by XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ), however it remains in the XXXX record as of XX/XX/XXXX..…
First I had mailed the equipment if it was lost in the mail that is beyond my control. Also the amount I supposedly owe ( despite me returning the equipment ) isn't the same amount it says I owe on my collections so I would like clarification for that it states I actually owe {$430.00} and not the amount that was sent over for my verification of debt. Also I would like verification that you all had tried to reach out to me as I have no mail from you all or received any contact and according the Fair Credit Reporting act before attempting to collect any debt you all must have tried to do so. Also when I returned the equipment to XXXX I reached out via phone and let them know in advance when to expect it, so as I stated if it got lost in the mail that is beyond my control.
XX/XX/year> Called to check into the account that XXXX mobile had turned into collections, as I have never opened or help an XXXX mobile account XX/XX/year> spent several hours on the phone with XXXX getting bounced from person to person, trying to locate the account that they turned into collections, with multiple agents telling me that I do not have any sort of XXXX XXXX account. XX/XX/year> after multiple attempts I was finally able to reach Eastern Account Systems. The agent there was not able to find my account via my SSN or Phone number, but eventually found the account using an address that was reported in my Credit report for the account in question. I informed them I have never lived at that address, or even in the state of Massachusetts. To which they replied oh, so this is fraud? I told them it looks that way. They then offered to settle the debt for {$910.00}.…
On XX/XX/year>, I contacted XXXX to resolve an alleged {$150.00} equipment balance and to get a QR code to return any equipment if a return was required. During that chat, XXXX reviewed my closed account and told me there was no equipment to return. After I provided the box serial number, XXXX then told me that the equipment was not added to my account, that I did not need to return it, and that the charges would be waived within 5-7 days. XXXX also told me to keep a screenshot of the chat for future reference because chat support could not send email confirmation. This is reflected in the chat transcript and screenshots I have attached. Despite that, Eastern Account System XXXX XXXX is still reporting or attempting to collect this {$150.00} balance. I disputed the item with XXXX and attached the XXXX chat evidence.

I discovered this collection account only by reviewing my credit reports. Eastern Account System is reporting a collection for a XXXX account that has a {$0.00} balance. I have verified with the creditor that no debt is owed. I have disputed this twice with the credit bureaus. XXXX has already investigated and permanently DELETED this item as unverifiable. However, XXXX and XXXX refuse to correct my report and are now " re-aging '' the account by updating the status dates to XX/XX/year>. This is a willful violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ).
A collection account is currently listed on my credit report without proper verification. I exercised my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) by requesting validation of the alleged debt ; however, the creditor or collection agency has not provided any credible documentation proving that the debt is mine, that the balance is accurate, or that they are legally authorized to collect it. Despite the absence of proper validation, this account continues to be reported on my credit file. This constitutes a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), which mandates that all reported information must be accurate and verifiable. Reporting a debt that has not been validated is both misleading and incorrect.

On XX/XX/year>, I sent a debt validation request via certified mail to the collection agency. The letter was delivered and received. I requested full validation of the alleged debt, including the original signed contract, complete payment history, itemized charges, and proof of legal authority to collect. The company failed to respond within the required 30-day period. Despite this, the account continues to be reported and/or collected. This is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( b ), which requires the collector to cease collection activities until proper validation is provided. I am requesting immediate deletion of this account from all credit reporting agencies.
I am submitting a complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding a XXXX XXXX account ( Account Number : XXXX ) for an alleged balance of {$270.00}. This is my second complaint. In my first complaint, the agency responded that they would cease all collection activities and stop reporting this account to the credit bureaus. However, this statement was not true. The account remains open and is still being reported on my credit report. Additionally, I have contacted the agency multiple times requesting documentation related to this debt. Each time, they promised to send the documents via email, but I have never received anything. I believe this behavior is misleading and unfair. I request that this matter be investigated and that appropriate action is taken to ensure the account is properly resolved and removed from my credit report. Thank you for your assistance.
I am writing to formally document and assert that Eastern Account System , Inc. has engaged in conduct that violates federal law, specifically the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq. Eastern Account System , Inc. has repeatedly contacted my employer on multiple occasions regarding an alleged debt, causing disruption and harassment in my workplace. Additionally, they have disclosed information about this alleged debt to my landlord. These actions constitute unlawful third-party communications and improper disclosure of personal financial information. Under the FDCPA, debt collectors are prohibited from communicating with third parties about a consumers debt without prior consent, except for limited purposes such as acquiring location information ( 15 U.S.C. 1692b ). This account was fraudulently opened under my name, and I have no knowledge of or association with the address linked to this account. I have never lived at that address, nor have I authorized any services or financial obligations related to this account. I have disputed this account multiple times ( at least three separate disputes ), yet it continues to be reported on my credit file without proper validation. During a previous communication, I spoke with a representative who acknowledged the issue and advised me that the account would be removed within a few days due to it being identified as fraudulent. However, no action was taken, and the account remains on my credit report. I have never provided consent for this company or any third party to collect a debt on my behalf, nor have I authorized the use or sharing of my personal information in connection with this account. The reporting of this account is therefore inaccurate and unauthorized.…
Eastern Account System indicated I owe {$600.00} as an unpaid balance for XXXX XXXX. I disputed the amount and asked to verify the debt, but they did not provide these details. I am attaching my statement balance from XXXX XXXX ( which includes all XXXX programs ) that indicates I only owed them {$160.00}.
I am a long-time XXXX XXXX loyalty member. Following a service disconnection, there was a communication gap regarding a final balance and equipment returns. XXXX sent a balance of {$790.00} to collections ( Eastern Account System ). I have since acted in good faith and returned all equipment, which XXXX has officially acknowledged and processed. This return reduced the actual balance to {$270.00}. Despite this, the original, inflated amount of {$790.00} is still being reported on my credit profile. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), reported information must be accurate. Since over 65 % of the reported debt was for equipment XXXX now possesses, the current collection entry is inaccurate and misleading. I have attempted to resolve this with finity directly, offering to pay the {$270.00} service balance in full immediately in exchange for a Debt Recall to correct my credit record. XXXX has refused this reasonable request from a loyal customer.…
I am a student working two jobs, including a night audit shift ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and a second shift ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I have explicitly notified Eastern Account System ( XXXX ) that calls during these windows are inconvenient and interfere with my work and sleep. Despite this, XXXX has continued to call my personal phone during these hours. I have contacted the original creditor ( XXXX ), who noted my account stating that I am prepared to pay the {$130.00} balance in full immediately in exchange for a full deletion of this derogatory mark. XXXX has refused this resolution and continues to ignore my notice regarding inconvenient calling times ( FDCPA violation ). I am requesting that this trade line be completely deleted from my credit reports due to these statutory violations and harassment.
