Company : First National Bank of Omaha ( FNBO ) Product : Credit Card Issue : Credit balance refund not issued Complaint : I am filing a complaint regarding a delayed credit balance refund on my credit card account with First National Bank of Omaha. On XX/XX/year>, I requested a refund of a credit balance in the amount of {$11000.00} resulting from an overpayment on my account. Despite this request, I have not received the refund. I have contacted the company again and was told that there is a high volume of requests, but no specific timeline or resolution has been provided. It has now been over XXXX days since my request, which is an unreasonable delay for a credit balance refund. I am requesting that FNBO immediately process and issue the full refund of {$11000.00} via ACH, and provide confirmation of the refund. I would also like confirmation that this issue has been resolved.

I opened the card while at XXXX XXXX and entering the park. I was offered a promotion in which is would receive {$150.00} statement credit if I spent {$500.00} within the first 30 or more days. I used the card in excess of {$500.00} in the first 30days and only received a credit of {$100.00}. I called and inquired as to why I did not receive the full {$150.00} credit and was told they would research and call me back. I called two more times after that because no one called me back. I am now approaching 30 days past due because they refuse to honor the promotion. I attached a screenshot from the FNBO website showing the promotion as well.
In an effort to build my credit towards the goal of home ownership, I signed up for a credit card with this company in or about the year XXXXBack then their websites had many issues and was very hard to navigate, login etc.I setup autopay and verified that it was noted on the payment screen. After using the card and accruing a balance I did receive monthly communications from FNBO about my monthly statement and payment reminders. The reminder email only said 'if you have already made a payment please disregard this notice ' I disregarded the notice because I had setup autopay. Fast forward to the next month where they reduced my credit limit and slapped my credit report with a delinquent notice dropping my score XXXX points and destroying my progress and work towards home ownership. I called to rectify this with FNBO and they told me my autopay was setup but it takes 30 days to activate and would work on the next billing cycle.…

I received a copy of the statement by email. Due to the issues with receiving initial documentation and the lack of care by customer service when calling to obtain that documentation, I decided to pay the account in full and close it.…

On XX/XX/year> I purchased {$25.00} worth of gas at a XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY. I only purchased {$25.00} of gas in the am and was provided with a receipt which had no date or time. I disputed the bill and was advised that I should go to the gas station to dispute the additional charge. Subsequently, I was advised that XXXX had submitted proof to the company that I had made a second purchase there that day in the evening. I never made another purchase there on the same day. The only time I was there was during the day. I do remember that there were problems with the pumps that day and that I needed to go into the store to make the purchase. I believe that I was erroneously charged for a purchase that day which was never made.
In XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for a credit card at XXXX XXXX in XXXX with a representative assisting me in person. During the application process, I was not informed that the card included an annual fee for the first year. At the time of application, I specifically told the representative that the address on my drivers license was not a valid mailing address for me and that I do not receive mail there. Despite this, the representative used that address and did not enter my correct mailing address. As a result, I never received the original credit card or any related billing statements. In XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted FNBO to report that I had not received the card. I was told that the original account would be closed, a new card would be issued, and that no balance was due. A replacement card was then sent to the correct address and received in XX/XX/XXXX. I did not activate the replacement card until XX/XX/XXXX.…

On XX/XX/year> around XXXX I attempted to deposit money via the atm. First round it spit out all my money. So I got XXXX crisp {$100.00} bills and deposited them just fine. It then asked if I would like to deposit more. I said yes. I attempted to deposit another {$300.00} of various different bills. The machine jammed and spit my money out. This time it only spit out {$290.00}. At this point the ATM is lagging and I can hear the deposit machine running but not sending any more money out. Eventually, the ATM seems to malfunction and tells me the ATM is no longer working. I wait a few minutes to see if it comes back up or if it will spit out my {$900.00} remaining dollars. It never does. I go to a different FNBO ATM to deposit the {$290.00} XXXX received back from the first ATM. I called and was told it was closed due to fraud, but I explained there were no fraudulent charges on the card, only one charge and I made that. They would not explain to me why it was closed for fraud but told me to reapply. I reapplied but was denied even though i have an XXXX credit score. I called back, was told I was denied because I had applied multiple times.…

On XX/XX/year>, I visited a car dealership in the XXXX, New York, called XXXX. I checked my credit to determine if I could secure a car loan, but the owner informed me that the approval process would be lengthy, so I decided to leave for a few hours. When he called me back, he confirmed that I had been approved for the loan without any issues. Over the next few months, I received a letter in the mail from a credit card company called FNB of XXXX. The letter stated that I had an overdue balance. Confused, I contacted the bank to inquire about the overdue balance. They explained that the letter indicated that I had used the credit card I was approved for to purchase a car, but I had never actually applied for the credit card. I never received the loan funds from the company it was just in the account which they created. I opened this account at Scheels on XX/XX/29 to get a discount on a coat. I asked to close it before the end of XXXX, and they said yes as long as after the XXXX. When I went to close it on the XXXX I saw a {$1.00} charge from XXXX on the XXXX. I have a reoccurring {$1.00} charge on my primary card for this so assumed it accidentally went to this card somehow. So, I paid it and called to close the account. I was assured it would be closed so I never looked back. I then saw my credit score dropping and couldn't figure out why. I looked at my bank, and it said there was a dispute from FNBO for a {$7.00} charge due to interest from a {$1.00} charge on XXXX. I didn't even recognize the bank because I only had the Scheels card for a month- so if they sent me an email it likely went to spam.…
First National Bank of Omaha ( FNBO ) issued me XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXhat always gives XXXX points for purchases considered TRAVEL. On XX/XX/year>, I made a purchase from XXXX for {$210.00} charging it on my FNBO card. FNBO did not give me the XXXX points, only XXXX. When I inquired FNBO customer representative XXXX stated that XXXX was listed by FNBO as a TRANSPORTATION ORGANIZATION, but was not considered to be TRAVEL. This makes no sense at all. Furthermore, XXXX is a business organization that exclusively deals with travel, such as auto/driver membership, mass transit tickets, hotel reservations, auto rentals, boat cruises, etc. In this case, TRANSPORTATION should = TRAVEL.

I again requested account statements and transaction history for the closed account. During this call, the creditor confirmed that account records exist but refused to provide any documentation. They stated that because a XXXX was issued, they are not allowed to send any documents other than the XXXX, citing guidelines from the Internal Revenue Service. They also stated that providing statements would be like collecting a debt, and therefore they would not provide them.…

.My complaint is with First National Bank of Omaho ( FNBO ). I have asked on many occassions to not store my method of credit card payment. I have recordings of a FNBO rep telling me that there is no store method of payment. Since FNBO is a financial institution, they are more likely to be hacked. I'm asking not to store my method of payment which is every month.

I am submitting this complaint as a new-development update regarding First National Bank of Omahas continued refusal to correct the harm caused by a credit limit reduction that followed my complaint activity and arbitration demand. Prior to checking into XXXX XXXX, I was informed by their Sales Coordinator- XXXX XXXX XXXX their nightly rate was {$110.00}. I stayed XXXX nights, and my total rate should have been {$670.00} ( {$110.00} * XXXX ). But XXXX overcharged me by {$580.00} and provided a fraudulent invoice of {$1200.00}, at an effective rate of {$200.00} per night which was not what was agreed to prior to checking in. As soon as this overcharge was placed on my FNBO card, FNBO was notified immediately of this {$580.00} theft by XXXX, and yet, FNBO has remained complicit in XXXX 's fraudulent activity and has refused to claw back this {$580.00} while also refusing to have this matter decided by an arbitrator even though their self-serving consumer agreement contract contains an arbitration provision. I paid the entire balance on the FNBO card except for the stolen funds which FNBO should have disputed and clawed back, but unfortunately, remains unresolved, hence, the filing of this complaint.
The balance on my last statement- XX/XX/year>- was {$25.00}. Payment was due XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX my account was credited {$25.00} On XX/XX/XXXX my account was credited {$0.00}. Thus, by XX/XX/XXXX the previous balance was paid in full, with a balance due of {$0.00}. Yet, on XX/XX/XXXX, the bank sent me an email stating " Payment Not Received by Due Date ''. This is WRONG. The bank intentionally did this so that it can ILLEGALLY add late fees and interest.
On XXXX I purchased a XXXX XXXX monitor through XXXX. On XXXX I returned the purchase in accordance with XXXX requirements. To date XXXX refuses to refund even though a ) they promised first without sales tax. b ) Then a refund with sales tax as the state of Florida stated that in fact sales tax is state property and must be returned to the customer. c ) Now FNBO has investigators who lack investigation skills as they only understand the XXXX XXXX refund receipt but can not read the XXXX promises and State of Florida sales tax statement.
Had an account with FNBO XXXX credit card. Had a parking charge dispute that never got resolved. I paid account off and closed the account. 30-60 days later I applied again. Received denial email. Called and was told because i already have an account. Explained I closed month or 2 ago. Then was told I couldn't apply again for 18 mos. Asked for the policy pertaining, was denied to see policy. Transferred to Supervisor who told me I was denied because they only go by account opening dates and Never close date. None of the reasons make any sense to me.
After I used my card and having been using my debit card without issue from my FNBO checking account. Randomly with no warning on XX/XX/year> FNBO freezes my entire account so I can not access any of my money or make any transactions. This has already happened before just a few months ago and I filed a complaint in XXXX XX/XX/year>. FNBO randomly freezing my account with no prior warning is completely unacceptable especially now this is the second time.
I requested to consolidate XXXX credit card accounts. FNBO accepted and gave me a balance with autopay. They paid one of the accounts off digitally and sent XXXX checks to a wrong address. They just auto-billed me for the full amount of the consolidation and I still have the XXXX cc accounts that were not paid down. Now I have to pay double the payments, or it negatively affects my credit. They expected me to receive the checks and take them to my cc company? They wanted me to solve their mistake, and now I am being billed interest on both the consolidation and XXXX card accounts that they did not resolve or pay off. Their communication and customer service in real time was absolutely horrible.

I made a large purchase recently and shortly thereafter, my card was locked. I submitted all documentation requested ( license, tax return, and social security card ). Since my card was locked, I was not able to cash out the {$460.00} in rewards that had posted to my account. I was told that I had to wait until XXXX unlocked my account. Well, XXXX ended up closing my account and all my points were forfeited. I had no chance at all to redeem the rewards that I rightfully earned.
The collection agency XXXX XXXX statement that I am not paying my debt is not accurate. The account owed was to the creditor First National Bank of Omaha and has reached a payment settlement agreement with my debt settlement company XXXXXX/XX/XXXX and is currently being paid every month since XX/XX/year>2025. I hired them to settle my debts and started paying as of XX/XX/year>2025. They have reached an Agreement with First National Bank of Omaha to settle the amount owed. The Collection company was never hired by First National Bank of Omaha as they just bought the information on my debt from a listing company.
