In XX/XX/XXXX my husband and I enrolled with Freedom Debt Relief to manage our credit card debt. However they failed to disclose the fact that my credit cards were not included in the program even though it was implied at the beginning. It was not until I was served with a summons stating that a lawsuit was filed against me for collection on one of my cards in XX/XX/XXXX that we got the bad news. We had been sending them all the letters prior to the lawsuit from the creditor about not not making my payments which they had told us to stop making payments for. When we called to notify them of the lawsuit they told us that they were unable to include my cards in their debt relief program.without giving us a reason why. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

I enrolled debt from multiple creditors to freedom financial debt relief in XXXX of XXXX I dont know the exact dates on some of these statements that I am going to list but I know what month these have occurred. First they guarantee settlements in XXXX months. Ive enrolled XXXX creditors, and only XXXX of them have settlements. The remaining XXXX are either on what they call a strategic hold or they have not even started yet and its already XX/XX/XXXX. So its been over a year. I called in XXXX and XXXX of XXXX about debt collectors threatening legal action. I asked them if theyve been making payments to further explain how the method works and they told me they let them get delinquent to get a lower rate, but also told me that it will never get as far as me getting sued by my creditor through third debt collector. I asked them to explain what these paused notifications mean and they just didnt make sense to me.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Freedom Debt Relief and their handling of my enrollment into their debt relief program, which resulted in the repossession of my vehicle due to what I believe was a serious misrepresentation of their services. In XX/XX/year>, I enrolled my auto loan into Freedom Debt Reliefs program after speaking with XXXX of their representatives. At no point during the enrollment process was I informed that secured loanssuch as my car loanwere ineligible for their program. Had I been made aware, I would never have proceeded, as my vehicle was essential to my livelihood. After my car was repossessed, I contacted Freedom Debt Relief to understand what went wrong. I verbally requested transcripts or documentation of my initial enrollment conversation, but they stated they were unable to provide them. They have since placed the blame on me, despite the lack of clear disclosure and guidance during enrollment.

Debt or credit management· Didn't provide services promisedIN

Complaint : I am submitting this complaint against Freedom Debt Relief for making material misrepresentations regarding the services they would provide, charging fees prior to achieving settlements, and failing to perform as promised. At the time I enrolled in their program, Freedom Debt Relief represented that they would negotiate with my creditors to settle my debts and that they would assist in the event collection actions were filed against me, including having counsel appear or otherwise provide meaningful legal support. These representations were a significant factor in my decision to retain their services. However, after enrolling in the program and making payments, Freedom Debt Relief has failed to fulfill these promises. Specifically : They have not effectively negotiated settlements with my creditors as represented. Creditors have continued collection efforts, including the filing or threat of lawsuits.

I am enrolled in a debt settlement program with Achieve. I recently became aware that a third-party debt collector contacted Achieve regarding an alleged debt that is nearly XXXX XXXX XXXX, time-barred, not enrolled in my program, and under my maiden name. I received an email asking if I wanted to settle and add the debts to my debt settlement program. I never authorized Achieve to communicate with any old debt collector regarding debts of such an old age, nor have I ever acknowledged that this alleged debt is valid or even mine. I still do not know what these debts are for. I am filing this complaint regarding a fraudulent account being reported on my credit report under the name Achieve Personal Loans. This account does not belong to me, was not authorized by me, and is the result of identity theft. The account was also included in my bankruptcy and discharged. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Achieve Personal Loans directly. I was informed that Achieve has not had access to or ownership of this account since XXXX and that the account was sold to XXXX XXXX. I then contacted XXXX XXXX and informed them that this account was tied to identity theft and included in bankruptcy. XXXX XXXX advised me that the account was returned to the original creditor. Despite these statements, this account continues to reappear as verified on my credit report, even though neither company claims ownership or reports servicing the account. I enrolled in a debt relief program with Freedom Debt Relief ( processed through XXXX ). The company settled only one of my debts, but they continued to withdraw significant funds from my XXXX bank account beyond what was reasonable for the limited services performed. They then informed me that they would not work on any additional debts unless I paid them even more money upfront. This violates the intent of the Federal Trade Commissions Telemarketing Sales Rule ( TSR ), which prohibits debt relief companies from collecting fees before they settle or reduce each debt. The company settled only one account but has collected far more money than the fees associated with a single settlement. They are now requiring additional payments before performing further services. This is deceptive and causes significant financial harm.

Between XXXX and XX/XX/year>, I engaged with Freedom Debt Relief regarding enrollment in their debt-relief program. Before providing my banking information, I repeatedly requested written copies of the Client Services Agreement ( CSA ) and complete fee disclosures, including : the total percentage charged on enrolled debt, how and when fees are earned or deducted, legal representation coverage terms, and confirmation of when creditor outreach begins. Despite several written requests ( attached ), the company refused to provide the CSA or a generic version of it until after I submitted my bank draft authorization. They stated the agreement could only be generated once my banking information was entered. This effectively required me to agree to drafts before being allowed to review the actual contract terms a practice that appears to violate the FTCs Telemarketing Sales Rule ( 16 CFR 310.4 ( a ) ( 5 ) ), which requires clear written disclosures before any payment authorization.

Company promised to settle and payoff the 3 credit cards involved and after collecting money to do so for 2 years they didn't pay off any of them and they charge fees that used all the money collected to negotiate the debts. when one of them sued me they were requesting twice the amount to settle the account and at that point stopped contributing to the program that only collected their fees and did not paid off a single account enrolled and only kept my money and ruined even worse my credit score that they promised would be improved and the debts paid within the amount of time that i contributed. Freedom debt relief did not do what they promised to do and after running out of the money saved to settle accounts and they kept all of it as their administrative fees that they promised were only payable AFTER settling accounts.
