I am writing to formally request debt validation for a collection account mentioned in a letter I recently received. Under my rights through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), I ask that your office provide clear proof that the debt is valid. This should include the name of the original creditor, the amount owed, a full payment record, and proof that I am responsible for this debt. I am making this request to ensure the information being reported is accurate and not the result of a mistake, fraud, or confusion. While waiting for proper validation, I ask that you pause all collection activity and reporting related to this account, as allowed by law.
On XX/XX/year>, I sent a written request for validation of an alleged debt to Halsted Financial Services. In that letter, I requested documentation proving that I am legally responsible for the alleged account, including documentation bearing my signature. The company has not provided the requested validation. Instead of responding to my validation request, the company continues sending collection emails to my email address. In reviewing these communications, I noticed serious inaccuracies. XXXX email is addressed to my correct name, while another email sent to the same address is addressed to a completely different individual named XXXX. This indicates that the company may be mixing consumer identities or attempting to collect debts that do not belong to me. Because of these inconsistencies and the companys failure to provide validation of the alleged debt, I dispute the account entirely.…
I am filing this complaint regarding a collection claim from Halsted Financial Services , LLC for {$2200.00}, allegedly related to a XXXX XXXX XXXX account that was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( account number XXXX ). To be clear, I do not recognize this debt, and I never authorized this reporting or collection in any way. The fact that this collection is still ongoing is extremely frustrating and mentally draining. I am being wrongfully harassed over an account that is not mine. Ive had no prior knowledge of this debt, and the lack of proper communication and documentation from Halsted Financial Services has only added to my frustration. This kind of treatment, where I am made to feel like a criminal for something I did not do, is unacceptable. It's unfair to be subjected to these actions, especially when I'm already aware of my rights under Florida law, specifically within XXXX XXXX, which provides protections against unlawful debt collection practices.…

XXXX been receiving emails multiple times a day, including weekends, about a debt. The debt was already on my credit report, but recently XXXX been getting an email about it every single day so I believe that my information was sold to a company. XXXX never signed up to receive ANY email from the company, but at the bottom they are giving me the option to opt-out when I never signed up.
Halsted Financial began contacting me only after my Apple Card account was deleted from all three credit bureaus due to XXXX XXXX Bank XXXX failure or refusal to verify the tradeline. After the bureaus deleted it, the account was suddenly transferred or sold to Halsted Financial, which appears retaliatory and designed to continue collection activity despite the prior deletions. Halsted then began sending me repeated text messages threatening that my account would be reviewed for referral to a law firm in my state if I did not respond. These messages were sent before any mailed validation of the debt and continued even after I sent Halsted a certified dispute/validation letter. They have not responded to my letter, but they continue threatening legal escalation through XXXX. This conduct violates the FDCPA, including threats of legal action they have not validated, continued collection after a dispute, and deceptive implications that attorney involvement is imminent.…

I have discovered two collection accounts on my credit report from " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' ( managed by XXXX ) that I do not recognize and have never properly validated. The account numbers end in XXXX and XXXX. I have now received a collection notice from a third-party collector, Halsted Financial Services ( XXXX # XXXX ), attempting to collect on this unverified XXXX account. I am demanding strict validation of this alleged debt under the FDCPA. This debt buyer has failed to provide : 1 ) The original wet-ink contract bearing my signature. 2 ) The full chain of title showing the legal assignment of the debt from the original creditor ( XXXX XXXX ) to XXXX XXXX. 3 ) An itemized accounting of the balance including how fees were calculated. Without this strict proof, they have no legal standing to collect or report this derogatory information.…
A debt collector ( Halsted Financial ) disclosed my debt information to a third party ( my mother ) via text message on XX/XX/year> from two separate numbers, including naming the creditor ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and providing a portal link that allowed her to view my balance and personal information using only my date of birth and a reference number that was already provided in said text. In addition to text messages, Halsted Financial sent a PDF document containing details of my alleged debt to a phone number belonging to my mother, further disclosing my personal financial information to a non-authorized third party. I have never provided this phone number to any parties involved in this case. This disclosure was made without my consent and appears to violate the FDCPA. I am requesting investigation and remediation. This disclosure caused distress and confusion for my family. I did not authorize Halsted Financial to communicate with any third party about my debt.…
