Key bank sent out a promotion flier - {$500.00} cash bonus with the requirements upon a checking account opening. I brought the flier to the bank and opened an account and met the requirement and double checked. I opened the bank account in XX/XX/XXXX. {$500.00} cash bonus was supposed to come in XX/XX/XXXX. ( 3 months after opening the bank account ). Until now ( as of XX/XX/XXXX ) Bonus hasn't come in and I have talked to the agent many times, visited the office and talked to a manager, emails back and forth, the problem does not get solved and I only kept hearing them saying the problem is being handled until now. but now my follow up calls and emails are ignored and I do not think they are willing to resolve the case.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing about a letter I received from KeyBank stating I may be charged a XXXX XXXX monthly inactivity fee on an account I opened in XXXX during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have not used this account since it was opened and the debit card associated with the account is expired. After receiving the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to contact the bank using the phone number provided in the letter and by using the online contact option. I called multiple times and received no answer. The online contact option also did not work. Because I could not reach anyone, I was unable to resolve this matter before the bank indicated it might begin charging a monthly inactivity fee. I request that you stop any future inactivity fees, refund any inactivity fees already charged, and close this account if possible. Please confirm in writing that the account has been closed and that no further fees will be assessed. Sincerely XXXX XXXX
XXXX XXXX KeyBank Issue : Fraud / Unauthorized Transactions Complaint Description : I am filing this complaint regarding unauthorized transactions that drained approximately {$4900.00} from my KeyBank account. On XX/XX/XXXX my phone was stolen and my XXXX and KeyBank accounts were drained. I did not authorize these transactions and immediately reported the fraud to the bank once I became aware. My dispute started on a Friday and ended Monday. I missed my rent payment and I can barely feed my children, I really depended on that money. I was charged on XX/XX/year>, {$2000.00} from XXXX and {$2900.00} from XXXX. Ive never used any of these companies. Despite reporting the fraudulent activity promptly, the bank denied my claim and refused to reimburse the stolen funds. Shortly after disputing the transactions, the bank also closed my account, leaving me without access to my banking relationship and without resolving the fraud claim.…
I am filing this complaint against KeyBank for failure to honor a {$400.00} new account promotion. I opened my account on XX/XX/XXXX at the XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and met the requirement of {$5000.00} in direct deposits by XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, a banker called me from the branch phone number ( XXXX ) to ask if I had received my bonus. When I said no, she promised to call back in one hour but never did. I returned to the branch on XX/XX/XXXX. A different banker confirmed that no promotion code was attached to my account, implying a clerical error by the original banker. This banker promised a resolution by the next day. On XX/XX/XXXX, he called to inform me the bonus was " denied internally '' with no further explanation. I have fulfilled every requirement of the offer. KeyBank is refusing to pay based on an internal administrative error made by their own staff.…

I am filing a complaint regarding a material change to my account at KeyBank that resulted in ongoing monthly fees. We noticed XXXX XXXX monthly fees charged to our account. On contacting KeyBank, they advised us that our account had been changed. The new account required that the owner retain a balance of XXXX. If this was not met, a XXXX XXXX monthly charge was accrued. We did not receive notice of these changes. The bank stated that they sent XXXX postal mail to provide this notification, which we did not receive. The bank also states that notification was provided via email to the primary account holder. However, these communications were not reasonably distinguishable from routine or promotional emails and did not effectively communicate a significant account change. As a result, fees were applied over an extended period without our awareness, for a total of approximately {$400.00}. Once discovered, we contacted the bank multiple times.…
I paid off my home equity line of credit. Its been more than 60 days paid off. I am requesting my signed and notarized documents for reconveyance so I may go to the county and pay the reconveyance fee myself since keybank wants to charge me {$600.00} to do it when it costs {$300.00} at XXXX XXXX. They are refusing to send the documents and claim that its because my balance is not paid off, as they added the {$600.00} reconveyance to the loan without my knowledge or consent and then claim its not paid in full. Its shady and I just want my documents as per Washington state law. Its causing me financial harm as I am wasting for this XXXX release to close a new heloc with someone else to fund the doin paying for my new home loan but they are holding up the whole process by refusing to give me the documents I am allowed to request by Washington state law. Its been more than 60 days paid off.
I made a deposit on XX/XX/XXXX and was told the funds would be available on XX/XX/XXXX. The funds were not made available on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the bank and was told that the funds would not be available until XXXX, and that I signed an acknowledgment of this when I made the deposit. When I made the deposit I was verbally told the funds would be available on XX/XX/XXXX, and the teller had me sign electronically. When I called the bank on XX/XX/XXXX, I was told, well you signed the notice. I signed the notice based on the teller saying that the funds would be available on XX/XX/XXXX, not XXXX. I would have presented the checks to the bank they were drawn on had I known about the extended hold. The teller had me sign the acknowledgment electronically without allowing me to view the document prior to signing, and the bank gave me a dismissive, too bad response when I complained about this practice on XX/XX/XXXX.…

On XX/XX/XXXX, my XXXX account was hacked and {$1700.00} was charged to my KeyBank debit card ending in XXXX. Within XXXX hours, I contacted both XXXX and KeyBank. XXXX completed their investigation quickly, confirmed the transaction was fraudulent, and issued a refund. Their resolution number is XXXX. The refund was assigned XXXX XXXX, but according to XXXX, the funds remain frozen because KeyBank initiated a chargeback investigation. On XX/XX/XXXX, KeyBank issued a provisional credit for the same amount pending investigation. However, no refund from XXXX was ever deposited into my account, as the refund remains on hold due to the chargeback status. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from KeyBank stating that no error occurred and that the provisional credit would be reversed on XX/XX/XXXX.…
I am requesting the immediate removal of the following account from my credit report : KEYBANK NA I do not recognize this account and did not authorize it. This account is reporting inaccurate and negative information that is harming my credit. I have previously been a victim of identity theft, and this appears to be a continuation of unauthorized activity. I have attached my FTC identity theft report as proof. I am requesting that this account be investigated and deleted from my credit report immediately.
I filed for unemployment benefits. Someone stole my identity changed my address to their address during the claim so the KeyBank debit card shipped to their house instead of mine. They withdrew XXXX XXXX XXXX total, mostly from the same ATM near their address. KeyBank confirmed they have transaction logs proving this, but now says my account is closed and refuses to refund me. I filed police reports as instructed, submitted all required identity verifications through unemployment, and even sent them the police reportthats the only reason they released any money at all. They opened a separate fraud case, approved payment tracers, and reissued me about XXXX XXXX dollars. But thats not even half of what Im owedthey promised the rest over time and never delivered. Unemployment says go back to KeyBank ; KeyBank says its unemployments problem. This runaround was designed to stallneither wants to own it, even though KeyBank issued the card, logged every ATM withdrawal, and confirmed fraud.…
On XX/XX/year> I deposited a check for {$3300.00} and a hold was placed on the check for what I feel to be an unreasonable and unfair amount of time. The check is less than the amount that they would need put a hold on and it is a Business check drawn off of XXXX XXXX XXXX. Holding a check for 7 days for validation is unfair and unreasonable.
Situation I received a bill in XXXX for over {$200.00} ( annual fees + late fees + interest ). I believed this credit card account was closed years ago. I never activated the replacement card sent to me and never received statements. The replacement card has no annual fee. All charges come from the old, unused account, which I believe is unfair. Request Waive late fees and interest. Close this credit card account to prevent future charges. If necessary, I am willing to pay the annual fee only.
Hello Ohio Dept of Commerce, I was referred to you by a Key Bank customer service representative ; if you can refer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I received a Key Bank gift card some years ago ( maybe 6 years ago ). The gift card amounts to {$700.00}. When I tried using the card a few times last year, and also this year, all of my transactions were denied. I called Key Bank today to find out about my remaining balance on the gift card- and they mentioned that the {$700.00} was sent back to the Comptroller of Ohio back in XX/XX/XXXX, as the card was inactive. The expiry for this gift card is XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX. The card is still active, but the funds were mistakenly sent back to the Ohio comptroller. The Key Bank representative mentioned that since this card was never registered or used, the {$700.00} balance was sent back to the Ohio comptroller. She mentioned that I need to contact the Ohio Dept of Commerce regarding refunds and/or any next steps.…
I am filing a complaint regarding the reporting of a 30-day delinquency in XX/XX/XXXX on my home equity line of credit with KeyBank. XX/XX/XXXX coincided with the beginning of the COVID-19 national emergency and the passage of the CARES Act, which encouraged lenders to provide payment accommodations and protect consumers credit reporting during this unprecedented period. My account has otherwise maintained a strong payment history since the loan originated in XXXX. This isolated late payment occurred during the period of significant disruption associated with the onset of the pandemic. I requested that KeyBank consider removing this late mark as a goodwill adjustment in light of the CARES Act framework and the extraordinary circumstances at that time. KeyBank declined my request.…
Sometime prior to XX/XX/XXXX, someone requested a debit card for my account and was able to gain access to it. This was an account that I thought I had closed several years ago but had sat dormant for years with an ~ {$950.00} balance. On XX/XX/XXXX, this person managed to change my PIN for my debit card. Per KeyBank, this is possible in person or via the telephone after providing PII including full legal name, address, DOB, SSN, etc. On XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX they made ATM withdrawals totaling {$940.00}, including from KeyBank owned ATMs. On XX/XX/XXXX they deposited a bad check for {$1600.00}, then withdrew money and made purchases totaling an additional {$100.00}. The check was charged back on XX/XX/XXXX, a legal copy was mailed to me with " Return Reason D Closed Account '' stamped on it. The withdrawals and check charge back pushed the account balance below {$0.00}.…
Starting about XXXX months ago, our bank, KEYBANK started returning payments made directly to KeyBank for our mortgage payment. We would then resend the payment and sometimes they would accept it. Sometimes they wouldnt, we ask the DOJ to help us in Oregon and they did get the company to give us a breakdown and state that yes theyve been receiving payments, but their system didnt work right therefore they have been returning payments. Therefore we are behind payments and now were behind XXXX months behind with a bunch of extra {$30.00} a month charge. We have tried time and time again and its all documented to contact their representatives, but they never pick up the phone and once in a while, theyll return a call from us, but just leave a message and once I try and call them back they never pick up and the recording states that the person handling our loan is out of the office.…

In XX/XX/year>, I attempted to open a bank account with KeyBank, online. I do not live near any of their branches. After speaking with their reps over the phone, I was assured that this was a good process to do, so I opened the account online, received my bank account numbers, and within days the account was suddenly closed down without explanation. After this incident I attempted to open a new checking account at a local bank to me, and was informed that KeyBank had placed a Identity Fraud warning onto my XXXX XXXX XXXX banking report ; this inaccurate report has prevented me from maintaining banking system access. Over the last few months, I have repeatedly called KeyBank, KeyBank XXXX department to attempt to resolve and have their inaccuracy removed from this XXXX report to no avail. Their call centers, manned by foreigners, has XXXX clue what XXXX XXXX XXXX reports are, and refuses to speak with me since I do not have an active account with them.…
RE : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a denial for unclear reasons on numerous occasions. It appears that it was due to a purported inability in verifying identity. The adverse action letter vaguely states, " Unable to verify identity '', however, the lender does not specify any details or allow a way to reconsider the decision. The XXXX just directed me to wait 30 days and then reapply. I did so multiple times with the exact same outcome. In fact, I even submitted a notarized statement of identity - all to no avail! Federal law requires that consumers have a right to fair and transparent lending practices. I request that the lender provide me with a fair and transparent opportunity to apply for its lending products. I am happy to provide a copy of my government-issued ID card and other documents that should satisfy lending requirements.…
My KeyBank credit card was charged on XX/XX/2026 XXXX which is over 600 % of credit utilization guidelines. My credit limit is only XXXX dollars which is a secured credit card. I have no over limit coverage on this card. The transaction should have never been processed. My card served as a card on file which I paid the rental car a deposit hold of my XXXX dollar credit limit. This is considered predatory lending. I reached out spoke with someone they told me to wait until my next bill cycle. The billing cycle came and went and the transaction is still there. I did not authorize this transaction. The company that presented the charge was supposed to send me a final bill because my credit limit was not enough to pay them. Now my credit store dropped by XXXX points due to this unfair credit utilization over 600 %. Which is predatory lending rates. I wish for my credit card company to remove this charge.

After the funds cleared and I used {$2900.00}, and then made a wire to XXXX to purchase assets and store, KeyBank froze my account and requested I sign a sworn statement regarding the source of funds. I complied and signed this statement at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX Direct Line : XXXX Branch Line : ( XXXX on [ XX/XX/year> ]. Despite my full cooperation, KeyBank has closed my account and is refusing to release the remaining {$12000.00} to me or initiate a return to the issuing bank ( XXXX ). They are demanding the sender initiate a refund, which is causing an unreasonable delay. I am requesting that KeyBank immediately release these funds or provide a formal verification of the return to XXXX so the funds can be recovered.

On XX/XX/XXXX I was opening checking account using a promotion code for {$300.00} to be paid after {$2000.00} direct deposit within XXXX days. The website directed me to go to the branch in person. At the branch in XXXXXXXX XXXX the manager XXXX XXXX told me that I should receive the confirmation in XXXX business days from XX/XX/XXXX. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I received no indication that I am enrolled, while my time to satisfy bonus requirements shrunk from XXXX days down to XXXX and keeps getting shorter, since no confirmation is to be expected according to customer service. I am told to deposit {$2000.00} to " buy '' confirmation. This is unethical and it sounds like extortion to just get verification of an offer I was naive to believe and opened and funded my account. It is also false advertising, since XXXX day period is already down to XXXX days.
I deposited {$4000.00} dollars into my key bank account to cover my XXXX and XXXX XXXX payment on XX/XX/year>. The money was confirmed cleared to originating account on XX/XX/year>. am filing a complaint regarding an unauthorized fraudulent transaction on my KeyBank checking account. The transaction posted without my authorization, and I immediately contacted KeyBank to report it as fraud. KeyBank opened a fraud claim and advised me that the case status is pending and assigned to a fraud case worker. However, despite clearly communicating that this situation is causing immediate financial hardship ( inability to pay rent and essential living expenses ), KeyBank has refused to provide provisional or temporary courtesy credit. I was told KeyBank may take up to XXXX business days before issuing provisional credit, with no consideration given for hardship or urgency, even though the transaction is unauthorized and under active investigation. Why this is a problem This refusal leaves me without access to my own funds while the bank investigates fraud that I did not cause.…
The company is attempting to collect and report a debt in an incorrect amount. In XX/XX/year>, I contacted the company and requested validation of the alleged debt, including documentation proving ownership of the account and an itemized breakdown of the balance being collected. Despite my request, the company failed to provide sufficient documentation to support the amount they are attempting to collect. The balance being reported does not match the original creditors records and includes amounts that have not been properly explained or verified. I have made good-faith efforts to resolve this matter directly with the company, but they have continued collection activity and reporting without validating the debt. I am disputing the accuracy and validity of the amount being collected. Ive also paid off the account and wrote a good will letter

In XX/XX/XXXX, I deposited a valid check into my checking account.
