I have an auto loan with Prestige Finance. I currently have paid the principal amount in full. I have accrued late fees on the account which are all that remain. The Finance copy keeps emails me asking for full payments as if i owe a full month 's car payment, they are also listing it on the website when I log in that I am past due 60 days and stating they will report to my credit. They can not report late fees again to my credit and since the principal amount it satisfied for my loan how can they charge me a full month payment? I have been told this is illegal and I desperately need clarification. I have attached a picture of the principal balance and a portion that shows I am paying fees only. Thank you, XXXX XXXX
Prestige contacted me via text and phone during my work hours. Being that I work in a collection call center. I advised them that all communication needs to be done after XXXX. I have received about 10 text messages and a handful of phone calls since I told them this. I just got a warning at my job for my phone going off today with them contacting me. I asked for the legal department information and he said it was an accident.

I am submitting this complaint regarding inaccurate credit reporting, improper deficiency balance claims, and wage garnishment related to an automobile loan serviced by Prestige Financial Services. The vehicle associated with this account was voluntarily surrendered pursuant to a written agreement, not repossessed. Despite this, Prestige Financial Services has reported the account to consumer reporting agencies as a repossession, which is inaccurate and misleading. Under Section 623 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ), furnishers of information are required to report information that is complete and accurate. Reporting a voluntary surrender as a repossession misrepresents the nature of the account and damages my credit profile. In addition, Prestige Financial Services has pursued and obtained wage garnishment for an alleged deficiency balance.…
My car was totaled back in XXXX of XXXX. I had full coverage but no gap. I later learned that my car wasn't paid in full and that I owed upwards of {$4000.00} from Prestige not from my insurance company. Long story short, after a few phone calls we established the balance and over the years they've garnished my paycheck here and there. The judge term began on XX/XX/XXXX with a starting balance of {$3700.00} per the account statement emailed to me by Prestige Financial. I'll attach the statement below but they've called when there was a lapse in my employment of set up payments to which I would ask about them update the balance on my credit report and I could never get a direct answer until about XXXX months ago. I was told over the phone that they will not update my current balance on my credit report to reflect what I've paid via garnishments.…

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally dispute a hard inquiry that appears on my credit report associated with your company. I am submitting this complaint regarding an auto loan assigned to Prestige Financial Services after purchase. I purchased a used vehicle in Indiana from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX Indiana and later titled and registered the vehicle in Illinois. The loan carries an extremely high APR of 24.24 % and includes costly add-on products that were financed into the loan, including a {$2000.00} service contract and a {$790.00} GAP waiver. These add-ons significantly increased the amount financed and total cost of the loan. I do not believe these products were clearly explained as optional or that I was informed I could obtain GAP coverage elsewhere at a lower cost. As a result of these add-ons and interest, I am paying nearly double the value of the vehicle over the life of the loan. The total amount financed was {$18000.00}, while the total payments exceed {$34000.00}. I have recently experienced financial hardship and contacted the lender for assistance.…

On XX/XX/year>, I issued a written Three-Day Cure Notice identifying specific outstanding deficiencies, including proof of Truth in Lending Act disclosure delivery at consummation, documentation evidencing funding of the transaction, documentation establishing Prestiges ownership or servicing authority, and any assignment or chain-of-title records. Prestige did not cure these deficiencies within the cure period.…

On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased a vehicle from XXXX XXXX XXXX. a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The dealership environment was highly concerning and unprofessional. The facility appeared unsafe, ( bullet hole marks through their glass and building ) And throughout the day staff behavior raised red flags. I had XXXX on XX/XX/year> and was off work for a month recovering. During my leave, I was supposed to receive 67 % of my paycheck, but that did not happen. The doctors office delayed submitting my paperwork, which caused my payments to be held up. When I finally received a payment two weeks later, it was only half of what I was supposed to receive. By that time, I was already struggling financially, behind on my bills, and my bank account was in the negative. I contacted my car loan company to explain the situation, but they told me I no longer qualified for any assistance because I missed my XXXX payment. I had already informed Prestige Loan about what happened, yet the representative I spoke with today repeatedly brought up the missed payment and implied that I simply failed to pay. XXXX XXXX has been reporting an inaccurate auto loan balance to the credit bureaus for multiple months despite its own internal records reflecting the correct balance. According to XXXX XXXX customer portal and statements, my correct loan balance as of XX/XX/year> is {$17000.00}, and a payment of {$690.00} was successfully received and applied on that date. However, Experian and TransUnion continue to report an inflated balance of {$19000.00}, which is approximately {$2000.00} higher than the accurate balance. As a result, I have been unable to meaningfully resolve or dispute this matter. The continued reporting of this account has caused significant emotional distress. I have experienced ongoing anxiety, stress, and mental strain due to concerns about my financial standing and creditworthiness.…

Prestige made the arrangement with my husband however began trying to collect the funds on XX/XX/year> 6 different times. This caused our account to become negative so when the XXXX came, they said we did not uphold our end of the agreement. They then began sending text messages and I have specifically told them NOT to call me during XXXX and XXXX since I am at work. I have copies of text messages where they refuse to communicate with me anymore and solely want to speak with XXXX. We told them we would pay on 1/2 both past due amounts and we would pay XXXX on the XXXX. We expressed that setting up an arrangement is not in our best interest as they have not kept their end of the bargain. We just want them to stop harassing us and allow us to pay our debt in peace.

I am submitting this complaint as an escalation and continuation of CFPB Complaint # XXXX because the companys response was incomplete, misleading, and did not address the key legal issues raised. I dispute the legality of the repossession, the handling of the account, and the accuracy of the information the company has reported and provided. On the date of the repossession, I had not received any legally required Maryland pre-repossession notices. Prestige Financial later stated that notices were sent but the only documents I received were dated after the repossession occurred. My vehicle was repossessed by Prestige Financial without proper notice, even though I had active automatic biweekly payments set up. I did not receive any legally required pre-repossession or post-repossession notices within 5 days. I was never told the vehicle was at risk, and my payments were accepted but applied only to interest, not principal, which made me appear more behind than I actually was. In XXXX and XXXX, I contacted the company multiple times to request payment arrangements and more time. I sent emails explaining that my payments were being rejected by my bank and that I needed until a specific date to resolve it. Prestige did not respond to these communications and later claimed they could not contact me due to a cease and desist, which I never submitted or authorized. This prevented me from receiving notices or any warning before the repossession. After the repossession, the company refused to tell me where my vehicle was located.…
