Debt collection· Attempts to collect debt not owedTX

I was deliberately targeted, manipulated, and defrauded by XXXX XXXX during a predatory HIGH PRESSURE sales presentation in XXXX XXXX in late 2024. Their sales representatives made multiple false verbal promises including guaranteed resort access, resale value, and the ability to generate rental income from points. Every single XXXX of these promises was a XX/XX/XXXX designed to coerce me into signing a contract on the spot. My credit was pulled without my full understanding as part of their coordinated scheme. I was given no real opportunity to review the contract, no meaningful explanation of terms, and was pressured into signing through deceptive and manipulative tactics that constitute fraud. Now Monterey Financial Services is attempting to illegally collect {$10000.00} on a debt that never should have existed. I have already sent a formal FDCPA debt validation letter to Monterey Financial via XXXX certified mail.

I am disputing this debt because it is not a valid debt that I owe. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was charged {$800.00} and a separate {$49.00}, and I was also placed into a {$3100.00} credit agreement tied to a {$4000.00} modeling portfolio/photography package. At the time of signing, I was shown only selected portions of the documents on a screen and was not given a meaningful opportunity to review the full agreement before signing. When I asked to return later to review the documents and consider my options, that request was denied, and I was told the deal would not be available later. During the sales process, I was verbally led to believe that modeling work or opportunities would be provided. After I later received the full materials, I found written terms that materially contradicted how the transaction had been presented, including language stating that the company was not an agency. On XX/XX/XXXX, I disputed and attempted to cancel the transaction in writing.

I am filing a complaint regarding inaccurate and incomplete credit reporting by Monterey Collection Services. This account is being reported with missing and inconsistent information. Specifically, the original balance is not properly listed, and key account details such as payment history and account terms are incomplete or absent. Despite this, the account continues to be reported as a valid collection. As a debt buyer, Monterey Collection Services is required to maintain and report accurate and verifiable information. The lack of complete account data raises concerns about whether this debt has been properly validated and whether the information being furnished is accurate. I dispute the accuracy and completeness of this account and request that Monterey Collection Services provide full documentation supporting the validity of the debt, including the original creditor, account balance, and chain of ownership.

I made the required payments in good faith based on this representation. Despite this, I continued to receive ongoing billing for the device. When I contacted XXXX, I was told I would need to locate and speak with the original salesperson from years ago in a different state, which is not reasonable or possible. I have repeatedly requested documentation, including a signed contract or agreement, itemized billing, and proof of financial responsibility. Debt collection· False statements or representationMO

I am disputing a debt being collected by Monterey Financial Services that I believe is inaccurate and has not been properly validated. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received written communication from the original creditor, XXXX, stating that a cancellation fee of {$640.00} was due. This fee was calculated based on discounts received minus payments made. The same communication also stated that the wellness plan was canceled due to a change in ownership, not at my request. I did not receive further follow-up communication at that time, as I was outside of the country. In XXXX, Monterey Financial Services began attempting to collect a balance of {$1100.00}, claiming it represents the remaining months of the plan. This directly contradicts the original creditors prior written statement regarding both the cancellation reason and the amount owed. I have disputed this debt and requested validation multiple times.

For the past several months, I have been attempting in good faith to resolve a valid debt with Monterey Financial that is currently being handled by their collections department. The current balance was recently quoted to me by phone at approximately * * {$9200.00} and change * *. During this time, I have made repeated efforts to settle the account by both * * email and phone * *, including requesting a written hardship repayment arrangement that would freeze future interest and allow temporary monthly payments of {$100.00} until my current work contract resumes in approximately 90 days. Despite these repeated attempts, I have consistently been met with delayed responses, statements that it would take 48 hours for review, aggressive and dismissive collection call behavior, and circular or unclear answers that do not actually resolve the issue or provide written repayment terms.

I am filing this complaint against XXXX XXXX and their servicer, Monterey Financial Services, regarding a predatory " bait-and-switch '' leasing scheme. On XX/XX/year>, I contacted Monterey to prevent any negative credit reporting and to set up a payment arrangement due to temporary financial hardship. During that call, I spoke with a Monterey representative who advised that I could establish a payment plan that would secure my account and protect me from negative credit reporting while I worked through a short period of unemployment. Im filing this complaint because I see two collections from Monterey Collection Services on my credit report for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$1900.00} and another for {$13000.00} and I honestly have no idea what these accounts are or why theyre showing up under my name. Ive spent almost a year trying to get answers, and at this point its extremely frustrating. Ive never received anything in the mail, no validation, no proof of ownership, nothing showing that these debts are even mine. If these accounts are supposed to be mine, then I should have at least gotten some type of notice. Instead, Ive been left completely in the dark while they continue to report negative information about me. This whole situation feels like a huge violation of my rights as a consumer, and to be very honest, it feels disrespectful to my intelligence and my integrity. I just want this handled properly and fairly.
