I accidentally entered the wrong bank account information to payoff my car on XX/XX/XXXX. I got messages XX/XX/XXXX that the payment failed. However, somehow, only ~ {$11000.00} of it failed. NMAC accepted a payment for ~ {$6000.00} from an erroneous bank account. I immediately paid off the ~ {$11000.00} so that I would not be stuck with interest. Somehow, however, this payment triggered an account closure, of which I was also informed on XX/XX/XXXX. The account was still considered " FULLY PAID '' and " CLOSED '' until today - XX/XX/XXXX. Thus, I was unable to remedy the issue to correct the bank account entry issue, and pay what I actually owed. I made several phone calls and opened several chat windows with agents at NMAC to ask them to reverse the erroneous payment and reopen the account. They told me to wait XXXX hours sometimes, and sometimes they told me to wait up to a month.

Complaint Date : XX/XX/XXXX I am filing this complaint regarding Nissan Motor Acceptance Company LLC ( NMAC ). NMAC is reporting my former auto lease as OPEN with a balance of {$6500.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. The lease was terminated and the vehicle returned in XX/XX/XXXX. Nissans own End-of-Lease statement states the lease was brought to a close and refers to a closed lease account. Despite this, NMAC continues reporting the account as OPEN. This is inaccurate and materially misleading under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. An account that has been terminated and for which the collateral has been returned can not be accurately characterized as OPEN. NMAC has already responded to CFPB previously but has refused to correct this inaccurate reporting. Requested Resolution : Immediate update to CLOSED / TERMINATED OR Permanent deletion of the tradeline If not corrected, I intend to pursue litigation under the FCRA for willful noncompliance.
