Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have been a 100 % on-time payer on my loan account with OneMain Financial. I have made 38 payments totaling {$6300.00} on an original amount financed of {$9100.00}. Despite paying over {$6300.00}, my balance is still over {$7000.00} due to a 35.99 % APR and deceptive " add-on '' insurance products. I was charged a {$420.00} premium for Involuntary Unemployment Insurance ( IUI ) and a {$200.00} premium for XXXX XXXX XXXX. I am on XXXX and was terminated from my job in XX/XX/XXXX due to this condition. When I attempted to file a claim on the XXXX policy, I was denied benefits and told I had to be receiving state unemployment, despite the policy 's own exclusions for disability-related terminations. The XXXX policy was worthless to me. I have stopped my auto-pay for the next payment ( XX/XX/XXXX ) due to this financial hardship.

OneMain Financial issued me a written settlement offer to resolve my loan for 75 % of the balance. The offer showed a settlement amount of {$1000.00} with a deadline of XX/XX/year> and stated that no further payments would be required once paid. I accepted the settlement and made a lump-sum payment of {$1000.00} on XX/XX/year>, which OneMain accepted. This amount was consistent with the settlement offer and reflects payoff behavior. After accepting my settlement payment, OneMain failed to close the account, continued to demand additional money, and began reporting late payments and a remaining balance to the credit bureaus. When I contacted OneMain, I was told I must pay {$100.00} more for them to correct the account and credit reporting. This is the second time OneMain has engaged in this behavior : issuing a payoff/settlement, accepting payment, then later demanding more money and reporting negative credit information. I dispute any remaining balance.…
I have had a OneMain loan for some years now. I was offered all these add ons with my loan that are not worth even paying for. The company doesnt have a way of canceling these items without having to pay more monthly for ur loan. I have always paid my bill on time or early. The services that are offered do not work. I submitted to get help with damage to my car with the auto service they have and I was denied. I also tried to get the unemployment benefits when I was laid off and was on unemployment. I sent in all the paparrwotk they needed but they kept telling me to send more information. After XXXX different times I sent all the info needed. Is was not enough info. So I gave up. So the services are not any good and would like to get my money back for this. There should be records of all of this. And I could show the info I sent in and the letter I was sent back. But its a big rip off.
My loan was originated in XXXX. While the contract labels insurance as 'optional, ' I was not given a clear explanation of the total cost or the impact on my principal. Under the XX/XX/XXXX CFPB Consent Order ( XXXX ), OneMain is required to ensure these products are truly optional and that interest refunds are handled correctly. Since XXXX, my principal has only decreased minimally, which I believe is due to the interest being charged on these 'pre-packed ' add-ons. I am a XXXX teacher and this debt is being reported inaccurately, preventing me from securing a mortgage.
In XXXX of XXXX I applied for a Brightway credit card and was approved. On XX/XX/XXXX an annual {$65.00} was applied to the account and a payment of {$25.00} was paid on XX/XX/XXXX. Another payment was made on XX/XX/XXXX, as well as a final payment of {$17.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. Since XX/XX/XXXX, until XX/XX/XXXX I have made XXXX calls to XXXX requesting an actual credit card that Ive never received and each time I spoke with someone stating theyve placed an order for a new card to be sent. Also twice I was told after being placed on hold for a brief moment that the supervisor had been informed. Its really frustrating because at some point another annual fee will be expected to be paid and I had never been able to change this card to warrant an annual fee. Im also concerned because if I were to cancel this account for not receiving the card it would affect my credit negatively. I dont even have access to a virtual card number, that may make it not so bad.…

I took out a personal loan with OneMain Financial in XXXX and have made consistent efforts to repay it. However, due to the high interest and overall cost of the loan, my balance has not meaningfully decreased. Instead, I have been placed in what feels like a continuous cycle of debt where payments primarily go toward interest rather than reducing the principal. Over time, the added interest has created an uphill battle to repay this loan. Despite making payments, I am not seeing real progress, and the loan has become increasingly unmanageable. I am now experiencing significant financial hardship and am struggling to keep up with the required payments. I am especially distressed that my vehicle title is now attached to this loan. I was close to fully owning my car before entering into this agreement, and I now feel at serious risk of losing my vehicle.…
My brother in-law and I went into One Main finance got a loan. Witch I thought my brother in law was paying the loan cause it was for him. I received court papers from a det collector. Product : Vehicle Loan / Personal Loan Company : OneMain Financial Complaint Type : Incorrect Information on Credit Report / Loan Servicing / Failure to Investigate Dispute I am submitting this complaint regarding OneMain Financials handling of my loan account, including inaccurate and incomplete reporting, failure to properly investigate disputes, and refusal to provide a full and transparent accounting of my balance. I entered into a loan agreement with OneMain Financial in XX/XX/XXXX secured by my vehicle. In XX/XX/XXXX, I notified OneMain that the vehicle had been stolen and that an insurance claim was in progress. Despite being aware of this, OneMain continued to treat the account as if no loss event had occurred and failed to provide any meaningful guidance, relief, or structured process during the insurance claim period. Instead, interest continued to accrue, the balance increased, and negative credit reporting was issued.…
I previously held a personal loan with OneMain Financial ( account ending in XXXX ). Throughout the life of my loan, I never missed a payment. At some point, I engaged a credit recovery company to manage the account on my behalf, and the account was eventually settled. All payments were made on time. Despite this, OneMain Financial has reported my account as 120 days late on my credit report, which is inaccurate. I was never 120 days delinquent on this account. This false reporting is negatively impacting my credit score and my ability to obtain fair credit terms. I am requesting that OneMain Financial correct this inaccuracy and update my payment history to reflect that no late payments were made. I am also requesting removal of any derogatory marks associated with this account that do not accurately reflect my payment history. I have called OMF multiple times regarding this issue and no changes have been made.
On Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received notification that my credit score decreased by XXXX points because of a delinquency reported by OneMain Financial for a Brightway credit card that I had closed in XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately disputed the delinquency, and on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted OneMian Financial to investigate, and they reported to me this was an error on their end and told me they would fix it and report it to the credit bureau. They were charging me fees on a closed account that they had reopened. My concern is that my credit score dropped significantly as a result, and also that this issue follows having been the victim of fraud with OneMain Financial, and they had to cancel my credit card on multiple occasions and issue a new one, yet the same disputed charges continue without any way for it to be occurring on my end. I contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX about the fraud and that was also when I closed the account because of so many problems.…
I am filing a complaint against OneMain Financial regarding a repossession and deficiency balance that I believe was handled improperly and may not comply with Florida law and UCC Article 9. My vehicle was repossessed on or about XX/XX/year>. When I went to retrieve my personal belongings on XX/XX/year>, I was informed that the vehicle had already been sent to auction. I do not recall receiving any prior written notice informing me of my right to redeem or reinstate the vehicle, the amount required to cure the default, or the date or timeframe of the sale. Given the short timeframe between repossession and sale, I am concerned that I was not provided a reasonable opportunity to recover the vehicle, as required by law. I am now being held responsible for a deficiency balance of approximately {$17000.00}.…

Complaint Against : XXXX XXXX XXXX / XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Complaint Summary : I am filing a formal complaint regarding an alleged debt being collected by XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I dispute this debt in its entirety due to improper handling of secured collateral and failure to provide legally required documentation. The account appears to be tied to a vehicle that was surrendered and/or repossessed. However, I was never provided with proper documentation regarding the disposition of the collateral. Specifically : - I did not receive notice of sale or disposition of the vehicle- I was not provided an accounting of how the vehicle was sold or how proceeds were applied - The creditor appears to still retain control of the vehicle title without providing proof of lawful transfer - No deficiency calculation has been properly explained or validated Despite these major deficiencies, I am now being pursued for a balance of approximately {$11000.00}.…
I am filing a complaint regarding a vehicle purchase financed through OneMain Financial that involved a third-party warranty ( XXXX XXXX ) and the selling dealership. At the time of purchase, I was clearly informed that a warranty had been included in my loan and that repairs to my vehicle would be covered under that warranty. Based on this representation, I agreed to the financing terms and relied on the existence of this coverage. For approximately six months, I operated under the belief that the warranty was active and valid. During this time, the dealership referenced or performed repairs that were stated to be covered under the warranty. However, I later discovered that the warranty may not have been active, honored, or properly applied as originally represented. This raises serious concerns that I was misled into entering a financed agreement that included a product ( warranty ) that was either not valid, not honored, or misrepresented.…
XXXX XXXX is attempting to collect a disputed deficiency balance of {$24000.00} after repossessing and selling my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The auction sale proceeds were only {$20000.00} ( their records ), but XXXX Clean Retail value was ~ {$30000.00} in XX/XX/XXXX a $ XXXX shortfall. Under XXXX law ( KRS 355.9-626 ), the sale was not commercially reasonable, making the deficiency not owed in full. I disputed this multiple times since XX/XX/XXXX ( emails and mail ). They provided partial validation ( loan agreement + payments ) on XX/XX/XXXX, but ignored requests for auction proof ( ads, bidders, condition report ). Responses since then : only call us emails or silence. Debt remains unvalidated per FDCPA 809 ( b ).
I am submitting this complaint regarding OneMain Financials failure to conduct a reasonable investigation and their restriction of communication during an active dispute. I previously disputed the accuracy of delinquency reporting on my account. In response, OneMain Financial provided general policy explanations but failed to provide an account-level breakdown showing how the reported delinquency statuses ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX days past due ) were calculated. I have NOT been XXXX days late as reported, and they refuse to provide proof. Specifically, they did not provide : A detailed, date-specific delinquency timeline A complete transaction history with full timestamps A reconciliation between attempted payments and reported delinquency levels Despite these deficiencies, OneMain Financial stated that they considered the matter addressed and indicated they would not respond to further inquiries unless new issues were raised.…
Took out a loan 6 weeks ago approx. My loan was supposed to pay off a creditor. They sent the check to the creditor and then put a stop payment on the check. They sent out another check to the wrong creditor. They put a stop payment on the second check. I placed a complaint with the XXXX and they retaliated by not speaking to me and referred me to a customer service number, in which I could only leave a voicemail. Meanwhile, I've had to make 2 payments on the loan that should have been paid off weeks ago. I am experience financial hardship trying to maintain 2 loans. The loan they were supposed to pay is {$2000.00}.
They call multiple times a day and do not leave any messages to call them then later in the day you get a text message from them. I have been in collections for over 35 years and this is not a practice that I know of being used. The calls are coming from different offices and numbers attempting to hide who is calling
I refinanced my vehicle through a finance company in XX/XX/XXXX. After the refinance was completed, I received confirmation from the previous lienholder that the loan had been paid in full and the lien on the vehicle was released. In XX/XX/XXXX, the vehicleused as collateral for the refinanced loanwas declared a total loss. Since then, my insurance company has been attempting to issue payment for the total loss claim. However, the process has been delayed because the current finance company has not properly perfected the lien or provided the necessary documentation required by the insurance company. As a result, the insurance payout is on hold, and the loan balance has not been applied or reduced. Despite this, the finance company continues to require full monthly payments and has not paused or adjusted the account. This situation has negatively impacted my credit, financial stability, living situation, and overall mental health.…
I have repeatedly asked One Main about the possible sale of my loan to XXXX. I found an amount and zip code matching mine in the manifest for the XXXX trust for XX/XX/year> matching when my loan was made. XXXX transacts with loans and takes portions of origination fees, but i found no license for them in Texas. I've asked One Main, including their " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' repeatedly to provide the bill of sale of my loan to XXXX, the Forward Flow agreement, and for where XXXX license for transacting with loans in Texas can be found. XXXX has refused to respond to previous requests for information when contacted directly.
I am filing a complaint because of a serious concern regarding the joint loan my husband and I took out on XX/XX/XXXX, with the representative, XXXX. During the loan process, XXXX clearly explained and offered us XXXX insurance. She assured us that in the event either of us was unable to work due to injury or illness, the insurance would cover our monthly payment in full, with no repayment required, for an additional charge. Given that both of us are elderly, we agreed to this option for peace of mind, and XXXX guided us through every step, having us sign all necessary documentsincluding the XXXX insurance agreement. She went through the paperwork page by page and confirmed that all signatures were complete and the loan was ready to be submitted. I want to stress that we would not have proceeded with the loan had we known the XXXX insurance would only cover one of us. XXXX was very clear in stating that we were both protected under this policy.…
I signed up for a new credit card and I got it. I used it for about a year and I was getting more fees than I was paying for the balance. Minimum payments were basically fees. I tried to make a payment with my new debit card but they dont have any other option for payment options so XXXX cant pay the bill

All of my information that I've submitted so far is the same as the information that will be on my account. It was with one main financial and I'm more so just wanted to make this complaint to let you guys know that you're heading in the right direction because I recently saw that there was a lawsuit now against them. Not only did they not really disclose their fees and their interest rates which are absolutely astronomical I feel like, and they never slow up, they closed my account out on me after XXXX or XXXX missed payments, and then they falsely had a jury summons sent to my house to entrap me down at the courthouse with papers from One main financial to sue me, I still have the jury summons that isn't even a legit jury summons that they used to entrap me at the courthouse as well. They sold my debt off to a collector of some sort, but still continued to try to collect the debt from me themselves. They are extremely fraudulent, and the greed is through the roof.…

I have a XXXX XXXX sportage fully paid off. I signed up for title loan on my car at XXXX main all went well but when I went to the store to collect check, the woman XXXX .. who was fired like a couple weeks afterwards. Convinced me to sign up for other products I didnt want she led me to believe needed to get those in order to get the loan. She wouldnt give me the check until I agreed to the products. I didnt feel comfortable because the pay back amount was made into an amount I knew I couldnt afford with the products, but I needed the original loan no was approved for. XXXX weeks later I called to have the products removed and learned she wasnt working for the XXXX main any longer. The products were removed eventually but the interest was not removed .i feel the products were more important than the loan to them. She put high pressure on XXXX. The XXXX main in XXXX XXXX. From XXXX i have mentioned to them that my money wasnt going down that it kept going up even with me paying {$400.00} to {$450.00} above my original payment of {$350.00}, and instead of it going down it kept going up and i wasnt laye and when i would ask them why XXXX girl would tell me its a daily fee that was added no matter if i am on time or not. My loan was for XXXX yrs and not every month those fees were added. For XXXX months my loan was dropping and on the fourth month my payments once again went up. Nothing they were saying was even made since. I was making higher payments and crazy fees just kept making my payments go higher. I was never told that my loan was gon na cost me almost & XXXX. I borrowed {$7000.00} and they added another {$1000.00} to my loan. I am almost done paying it and not once has gona up again which is wierd.
I am filing this complaint against OneMain Financial for continued inaccurate, misleading, and unverifiable credit reporting, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and federal consumer protection laws. Despite multiple prior disputes and escalation attempts, OneMain Financial continues to report an account that is materially inaccurate, incomplete, and inconsistent across key reporting fields. Specifically, the account is being reported as a closed charge-off installment loan, yet the data fields contain contradictory and misleading information. The reporting reflects an unknown original creditor, which is a direct violation of XXXX compliance standards. If OneMain Financial is in fact the original creditor, then failing to properly identify itself renders the account incomplete and deceptive. Additionally, the account continues to report a past due balance of {$5000.00}, despite being marked as closed and charged off.…
This account was a personal loan ; my vehicle was used as collateral. Company placed - limited dual insurance collateral protection in the event of a loss of collateral to cover loan amount. I was charged monthly for this credit place insurance. The credit place insurance policy covered the loan outstanding balance in the event of a loss, and I was not at fault. A loss occurred I was not at fault. Onemain was paid through XXXX from the at-fault driver. The company OneMAIN refused to file a claim for the remainder of loan balance and did not report the loss to the insurance company under the credit place insurance even though I was covered. This company has demonstrated fraud and bad business practices. I was being charged fees for services I did not receive. Due to the fraud all information currently reflective on my credit report is inaccurate and should be removed immediately. I have filed a police report and intend to pursue this matter legally.
I paid XXXX to my loan on XX/XX/year>. I realized in XXXX that the reason I was being told there were no payments due that the reason was because my overpayments were not applied to principal. Even after my request, I emailed XX/XX/year> asking for it to be corrected. It was never corrected and now I have been charged interest for XXXX months worth of the funds I already paid. I continued to have no payments due until recently. I was advised to look into this and have discovered what I described above.
