I am writing to formally request debt validation for a collection account mentioned in a letter I recently received. Under my rights through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), I ask that your office provide clear proof that the debt is valid. This should include the name of the original creditor, the amount owed, a full payment record, and proof that I am responsible for this debt. I am making this request to ensure the information being reported is accurate and not the result of a mistake, fraud, or confusion. While waiting for proper validation, I ask that you pause all collection activity and reporting related to this account, as allowed by law.

I am filing a complaint regarding a third-party collection agency ( Security Credit Service ) that is reporting and attempting to collect a debt originally associated with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This account is currently being reported by the original creditor as a charge-off and separately by Security Credit Service collection agency . I am concerned that this may result in duplicate or misleading reporting that does not accurately reflect the status of the account. Additionally, the reporting of this account is inconsistent across credit bureaus. The account does not appear on all credit reports, which raises concerns regarding the accuracy, completeness, and verification of the information being furnished. I have not been provided with sufficient documentation from the collection agency to verify that they have the legal authority to collect this debt, including proof of assignment or transfer from the original creditor.…
I am filing this complaint because multiple debt collection agencies appear to be engaging in unlawful collection practices and inaccurate credit reporting in violation of the FDCPA and FCRA. After I formally disputed the alleged debts and requested validation, the companies failed to provide sufficient documentation proving I owe these debts, yet they continue collection efforts and may still be reporting unverified information to credit bureaus. Their failure to validate the debts and ensure accuracy may constitute violations of federal law, including misleading representations, unfair practices, and improper reporting. Based on this conduct, it appears these companies may be following a pattern of attempting to collect without proper proof while furnishing potentially inaccurate information, exposing themselves to civil liability.

Recently multiple collections were posted on my credit bureau from your agency. Your collections need the following criteria in order to be valid. 1 ) A signed assignment or power of attorney to legally pursue a collection under FDCPA guidelines. The FTC mandates this from FTC v. XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). 2 ) A copy of any agreement signed with the debt procuring party. 3 ) A written notice of the collection being posted on my credit report, in addition a number of the surety bond necessary to be a debt collector in my state of residency. 4 ) A license number of your collection status filed in my state of residency, or a license number if your agency is a debt buyer. That license number would be federal with the XXXX. Your agency has fulfilled none of those criteria. Accordingly, the collections are fraudulent and must be dismissed with all pertinent credit reporting agencies immediately.

I disputed a collection account reported by Security Credit Services with XXXX. The account was marked as verified, but no documentation validating the debt was provided to me. I have not received proof that this debt is mine, including account statements, a signed agreement, or documentation showing that Security Credit Services has the legal authority to collect this debt. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, companies must conduct a reasonable investigation when a consumer disputes an account. Simply verifying the account without providing supporting documentation is inaccurate and misleading. I request that Security Credit Services provide full validation of the alleged debt or delete the account from my credit reports.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a collection account being reported by Security Credit with a balance of approximately {$1500.00}. I am formally stating that I do not own this account. I did not open the original account associated with this alleged debt, I did not authorize anyone to incur this obligation on my behalf, and I did not receive or benefit from any goods, services, or funds related to this account. This account is the result of identity theft. I became aware of this Security Credit collection account after reviewing my credit report and noticing a derogatory tradeline reflecting a balance of approximately {$1500.00}.
