I am submitting this complaint regarding an alleged debt that I dispute as invalid and improperly reported. Following a rental vehicle incident, the damage was processed through my insurance company, which paid {$6300.00} as reasonable and customary repair costs. The remaining balance of approximately {$1600.00} consists of charges such as loss of use, depreciation, and administrative fees, which my insurer determined to be excessive and above reasonable market rates, and therefore not payable. Furthermore, the damage was limited to the front passenger-side door. It is unreasonable that such limited damage would result in such high additional charges. These fees lack sufficient justification and should not be my responsibility. When I logged into my XXXX account, there was no record of any damage claim, charges, or documentation. Because the claim appeared fraudulent, I did not respond. They have provided no documentation, no photos, no repair invoices, and no proof that any damage occurred. This appears to be an unsubstantiated or fraudulent postrental damage claim. I rented a car with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. When I returned the car, a representative was present and stated we are good to go. It was not until 3 days later on XX/XX/XXXX I received an email regarding suspected damage, and filled out a form specifying this damage was not present at any point during my rental, therefore I did not mark it on the required form at the start of the rental period. Because I was not contacted regarding any damage until several days after the return, I was unable to verify or contest the claim at the time the vehicle was surrendered. It was not until over a month later, XX/XX/XXXX that I received a damage report with pictures of the damage that did not contain any time stamps.

Despite repeated requests via email back-and-forth, this was not provided. I do not dispute the repair and appraisal costs. In good faith, I paid {$890.00} via certified mail on XX/XX/year> for those undisputed amounts. However, I formally disputed the {$210.00} Diminution of Value ( DV ) charge because it is not authorized or defined in the rental agreement. I requested contractual support and valuation documentation in writing and asked that all communication be sent by postal mail. I received no documentation or written response. Despite this, the {$210.00} disputed amount was placed with Summit A * R and reported to credit bureaus as an unpaid collection account.

I am filing a complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and Summit AR. XXXX submitted a {$1100.00} damage claim ( Summit Claim No. XXXX ) for a rim scratch I did not cause. XXXX has provided no evidence : no photos, no chain-of-custody documentation, and the repair invoice seems extremely high for a rim scratch. I believe this debt has been inflated or reported incorrectly. I want a full validation of the claimed balance, including a copy of any signed agreement, itemized billing, and proof that this account belongs to me. Until this verification is provided, I am disputing the debt in its entirety.
