Subject : Concerns About XXXX Loan Terms and Ability to Repay Description : I am filing this complaint because I am struggling with the terms of a highcost loan issued by Uprova Credit LLC. The loan was refinanced to a principal balance of {$1800.00}, and I have made three payments of {$250.00} so far. The APR is extremely high, and I did not fully understand how much the total cost of the loan would be over time. I am concerned that the repayment structure is not affordable and that the refinancing increased the longterm cost in a way I did not anticipate. I am requesting a review of the loan terms, the disclosures provided, and whether the lender is offering reasonable options for borrowers who are trying to avoid financial hardship. I am asking for assistance in resolving this matter and determining whether the lender can offer a more manageable or fair resolution.

I took out a {$1000.00} installment loan with Uprova and ultimately repaid over {$2300.00}, including {$1300.00} in interest alone. My payment history includes the following payments to Uprova : - XX/XX/year> : {$280.00} - XX/XX/year> : {$280.00} - XX/XX/year> : {$280.00} - XX/XX/year> : {$280.00} - XX/XX/year> : {$910.00} - XX/XX/year> : {$290.00} These payments show that I paid significantly more than the original {$1000.00} loan amount. Additionally, based on the loan terms, the total repayment over the full term would have exceeded {$4000.00} on a {$1000.00} loan. I believe the interest rate and fees charged are excessive and may not comply with Florida lending laws. The amount of interest alone exceeded the principal, which raises serious concerns about the fairness and legality of this loan.…
In XX/XX/XXXX, the company Uprova lend me {$1000.00} dollars. I have already made XXXX payments that together represent approximately 80 % of the original amount borrowed. However, I am very concerned because despite these payments, the principal balance has not significantly decreased. It appears that a very large portion of my payments is being applied to interest and fees rather than the principal balance. As a result, even after making substantial payments, the total balance remains almost the same or has even increased. I am requesting a detailed explanation of how my payments have been applied, including an itemized breakdown of principal, interest, fees, and current payoff amount. I also request clarification on why the principal reduction has been so minimal despite my consistent payments.
I recently took out a loan for {$2400.00}. I needed help paying another loan and some bills. I found out that they charge around 600 % interest rates and that I would need to repay around {$7200.00}. I also found out that in Illinois, it is illegal to charge more that 36 % interest rates on a loan, no matter where the loan lender is located. I am all for paying the loan back but I would like lower interest rates.
On XX/XX/year>, I was approved for a Personal Loan with Uprova for XXXX. I stated on the application that my income was monthly. I was unaware that Uprova is actually an online payday loan and scheduled my payments for the XXXX and XXXX of the month, i.e. every XXXX weeks. I have tried to communicate with Uprova 's customer service that I need monthly payments. I was told by Customer Service that the payments have to be made every XXXX weeks that Uprova does not offer monthly payments I have been making payments monthly but Uprova has reported late payments on my credit report. Uprova has an Annual percentage rate of XXXX % which is Predatory Lending. Uprova advertises that is an Personal Loan and Installment Loan lender and did not advertise as a Payday Loan. I am retired on a monthly income and unable to make payments every XXXX weeks.
I was approved for a {$900.00} loan through XXXX deposit via Uprova on XX/XX/year>. On Thursday at approximately XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, I attempted to pay off the full balance. My bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX, confirmed the payment was approved, but XXXX website displayed an error and instructed me to try again after XXXX hours. I waited until today, Sunday, XX/XX/year> at XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, and attempted once again to repay the loan in full using my debit card. At this point, the loan had already accrued {$27.00} in interestan amount that appears to have been intentionally allowed to accumulate. Once again, my XXXX XXXX confirmed the payment was approved, yet Uprova denied the payment on their end, clearly stalling and allowing additional interest to build. I work in finance, so I fully understand how predatory these interest rates can be if the loan is not paid off immediately. That is exactly why I attempted to pay the balance in full right away.…
I am a XXXX resident. I took out a loan with Uprova XXXX for {$1000.00}. To date, I have made XXXX payments of {$260.00}, totaling {$1300.00}. Uprova is NOT licensed to lend in the state of California by the XXXX. Under California law, an unlicensed loan with unconscionable interest rates ( 600 % ) is void and unenforceable. Closes the account as 'Paid in Full. ' XXXX. Does not report any negative information to my credit reports. I have attached my loan agreement and payment history as evidence of these predatory terms and my successful repayment of the principal. ''
In XX/XX/year>, I was in a difficult financial situation and desperately needed {$1000.00} to cover bills. I found Uprova Credit , LLC online and applied for a loan. I was approved quickly and the money was deposited into my account. At the time, I knew the interest rate was high but I believed I would be able to make the payments and pay it off. Once I received the loan documents and started looking at the actual numbers, I realized the full extent of what I had agreed to. The loan carries an APR of XXXX %. For borrowing {$1000.00}, I am expected to pay back {$3500.00} a finance charge of {$2500.00}. That is more than XXXX the original loan amount just in interest and fees. The repayment schedule requires XXXX bi-weekly payments of approximately {$190.00}. I am a resident of Massachusetts. I have since learned that lending at these rates is illegal in my state. Massachusetts caps small loan interest rates at XXXX % APR and effectively prohibits payday-style lending.…

I am submitting this complaint regarding Uprova and their handling of a settlement they offered on my loan. I currently have a loan with Uprova with a balance of approximately {$2600.00}. Uprova offered me a settlement of {$2100.00} to be paid over six months at approximately {$350.00} per month due to financial hardships. I agreed to accept this settlement and attempted to set up the required payment method. However, Uprova requires that settlement payments be made through ACH withdrawals from a bank account. When I attempted to enter my banking information through their system, the system repeatedly returned an error stating that the account number could not be verified. I attempted to enter multiple valid bank accounts, including accounts at XXXX and XXXX XXXX, but their system rejected each one. I contacted Uprova customer service and was told that their system determines which bank accounts are accepted and that the representatives have no ability to override it.…
To begin with, going through the Uprova website, it claims that they have lower APR rates, which in Texas is usually capped at 18 %, however it is a lie as the XXXX are often XXXX and above ; personally mine is 549.85 %. On top of that, I had extreme trouble logging into my account as it was not allowing me to get in and look at my account information for my loan documents as well as overlooking my bank information. Finally I was able to get into contact with somebody, we had to delete my account and remake it. Gaining access to my account, I looked over my finalized account details and realized that what was claimed through their website wasnt the finalized deal between consumer and lender. Attempting to work with Uprova of paying the debt and working with the lender to aid me, they denied my ask of help and insisted on paying over the phone for a certain amount. I looked through their licenses, and they are not licensed through the state of Texas.
Interest amount is ungodly. {$400.00} every XXXX weeks in interest on a {$1900.00} loan. No way to pay down principle. This rate is far above state regulations. How can they operate unlicensed in my state and charge me 500 % interest if not more. Not right or fair they can operate unlicensed and not follow state regulations
Uprova is charging 600 % interest on a {$400.00} loan and I have tried to pay the whole amount off through the portal but they will not allow me to log in or see my progress on the loan. Every time I log in the log in just refreshes and I have tried multiple times and they will not allot my access or pay off the loan but keep pulling money out every two weeks. I am a California resident and their lending practices are illegal and leave no way to pay off the loan
I obtained an installment loan of {$2000.00} from Uprova Credit , LLC ( affiliated with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) around XX/XX/XXXX. The loan carried an extremely high effective interest rate, as shown in my payment historyfor example, my last payment on XX/XX/XXXX, was {$130.00}, with only {$50.00} applied to principal and {$81.00} to interest. This implies rates well over 500 % APR. Uprova is not licensed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation ( DFPI ) to offer consumer loans in California. The rates exceed XXXX usury limits ( generally 10 % for unlicensed lenders or up to approximately 36 % under laws like the Fair Access to Credit Act ). California courts have ruled in similar tribal-affiliated lending cases that such loans are often void or unenforceable when made to non-tribal residents, due to evasion of state licensing and usury laws ( e.g., precedents from the XXXX California Supreme Court decision in People ex rel. XXXX v.…
I am filing a complaint against Uprova Credit for issuing an illegal and predatory loan with an interest rate of approximately 676.85 % APR. Uprova is not licensed to lend in California and is using a tribal affiliation to attempt to bypass state usury laws. This loan violates the Truth in Lending Act ( XXXX ), state usury laws, and constitutes unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts or practices ( XXXX ). The interest rate is grossly excessive and was not lawfully disclosed in a manner that a reasonable consumer could understand. The loan is illegal in my state and should be considered void and unenforceable. Uprova has attempted to collect on this illegal debt and has caused financial distress and consumer harm. I am requesting that the CFPB investigate Uprova for predatory lending, illegal interest rates, deceptive practices, and unlawful collection activity, and require them to cease operations and collection efforts in California.
I am a Georgia resident. Uprova Credit , LLC issued me a loan with an interest rate exceeding 600 %, which I believe violates Georgia usury and consumer protection laws. I revoked ACH authorization to prevent further withdrawals, which the company acknowledged in writing. Despite this, they claim interest continues to accrue and that payments remain due. I believe this loan is illegal, predatory, and unenforceable in my state, and I am requesting that the CFPB review this matter.
Dear XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding Uprova Credit , LLC, which I believe may be engaging in unfair or potentially unlicensed lending practices in Indiana. I borrowed {$1900.00} from Uprova and have already paid a total of {$2800.00}. Despite this, my account still shows a balance of {$1600.00}. While I agreed to the loan, the interest and fees applied have made the payments unmanageable, and I am experiencing financial hardship. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a formal email to Uprova requesting an immediate stop to automatic payments and a full itemized accounting of my payments, interest, and fees. Uprova responded on XX/XX/year>, acknowledging the revocation of automatic payments. However, their response confirmed that : Payments are still due as defined by the payment schedule. Interest on my account continues to accrue. I am concerned that : The interest and fees charged may not comply with Indiana state law.…
I accepted this very loan predatory agreement and Ive been paying tho only less than {$50.00} of my over {$300.00} payments go towards the principal and they just offered me a refinance but they literally just wanted to lend me {$200.00} and would not disclose the rates and or fees prior to hitting a button to accept their financing!!! This is absolutely predatory lending!!!! Pls look into these loaning Agencies. XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX
Product : Payday loan / installment loan ( tribal lender ) Company : Uprova Credit , LLC Loan amount : {$2400.00} APR : 333.75 % ( Truth-in-Lending ) Loan date : XX/XX/year> State : XXXX XXXX ( I reside in XXXX ) What happened ( summary ) : I took out a {$2400.00} installment loan from Uprova. The loan carries an extremely high APR ( 333.75 % ) and results in total scheduled payments of {$7100.00}. After I missed payments due to financial hardship, the lender applied my subsequent payments only to interest and not to principal. The loan agreement states that payments are applied to interest first ( including past-due interest ) and only amounts exceeding interest reduce principal. With the loans very high daily-accruing interest, the account has effectively become a debt trap where payments do not reduce principal after delinquency.…
CFPB, Uprova Credit , LLC responded to my prior CFPB complaint by proposing a payment plan that requires mandatory ACH authorization as a condition of settlement. I am not refusing to resolve this account ; however, the proposed terms are not workable and expose me to unreasonable risk. Under Uprovas proposal, ACH is required as the default payment method, and debit card payments are only permitted if I call customer service the day before each scheduled payment to cancel the ACH withdrawal for that specific date. This structure places the burden entirely on the consumer, is impractical to manage repeatedly, and creates a risk of unintended withdrawals. Given the dispute history and CFPB involvement, I am not comfortable reauthorizing ACH access to my bank account.…
I am filing a complaint regarding unfair and misleading loan servicing practices by Uprova Credit , LLC. Since XX/XX/year>, I have made numerous good-faith payments toward my installment loan, including multiple partial payments totaling several XXXX dollars. Despite this, Uprova has applied virtually all payments to interest only, with {$0.00} applied to principal, and my balance continues to increase. I borrowed {$1000.00}. Since origination, I have made {$420.00} in successful payments, all of which were accepted by the lender. According to the lenders own account records, {$0.00} of these payments were applied to principal, with 100 % applied to interest, despite the frequency and consistency of my payments. As a result, after paying more than 40 % of the amount borrowed, my principal balance has not decreased, and my total balance has increased beyond the original loan amount.…
On or about XX/XX/year>, I sent the company a written dispute and request for debt validation pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1692g ). I requested documentation including the original agreement, itemization of the amount claimed, accounting history, and proof of authorization to collect. The company did not provide the requested validation. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a second written notice reiterating the dispute and requesting complete validation, including proof of interest and fee calculations, proof of reporting authority, and documentation showing that the debt is accurate. The company again did not provide validation. Despite the active dispute, the company continued to send payment demands and threaten default through repeated emails. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a third written notice advising the company that continued collection activity without providing validation violates 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( b ).…
I took out this loan at XXXX, I was ignorant and did not fully understand what i was signing. It is a {$1200.00} dollar loan, but at the end of it all i'm going to be paying over {$4500.00} when you take interest into account. This loan has a 540 % APR. I am currently not in a position where I can pay this. This is absolutely wrecking my mental health and making my life miserable. All I ask if for negotiation, and even forgiveness. I do not think its fair to pay {$4500.00} dollars when all I asked for was {$1200.00}. I have been making payments for a couple months now, and I have made not even a dent to the actual balance, just straight interest.
Uprova is an online service to receive instant personal loans. I was not approved for the loan however they attempted to take {$1000.00} from my savings account. I have since withdrawn my application. I want to be ensured that the company has successfully withdrawn my application and my banking information.
I took out an installment loan from Uprova while living in Illinois. From the beginning, I was never given access to the loan agreement or any disclosures, and I still can not access any loan documents through their portal. I do not have the terms, APR, or repayment schedule, which prevents me from understanding or validating the loan. I attempted to contact Uprova and also revoked ACH authorization, but the company has never responded in any way. They did not acknowledge my revocation, did not provide any documents, and have not given me account information. This appears to violate the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ), which requires acknowledgment of revocation requests. I believe this loan may also violate federal consumer-protection standards because the APR is extremely high, I was not provided required disclosures under the Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ), and I can not access the loan details at all.…
CFPB, I am filing this complaint regarding my account with Uprova. I want to clearly state that I am not disputing the balance that I owe. My concern is not about the accuracy of the amount or how it was calculated. I am genuinely grateful that Uprova has worked with me and provided a payment arrangement that helped me manage my obligations. I also want the agency to know that I have been honoring the current payment plan that Uprova and I agreed upon, and I have made every effort to remain compliant with the terms. Recently, however, I have been experiencing very serious medical problems that have created significant physical and financial hardship. These medical issues have made it increasingly difficult to continue managing the remaining balance, despite my good-faith efforts and consistent payments.
This complaint concerns multiple high-cost loans I received from Uprova over time. The interest charged on each loan was extremely high and appears to be far above New Jerseys legal limit of approximately 30 % APR. Across several loans ( approximately XXXX total ), the effective interest rate I paid exceeded 200 % XXXX % per loan. A large portion of every payment went only toward interest. Despite paying significant amounts over time, the balances barely decreased because of the high-interest structure. When I questioned the legality of the interest rates and mentioned that I might need to file a complaint, Uprova closed my account and waived the remaining balance on the final loan instead of reviewing the large amount of interest I had already paid on all prior loans. This only happened after I raised concerns ( ; before that, I had already paid the full principal plus extremely high interest on the earlier loans.…
CFPB. I am filing this complaint against Uprova because I experienced serious issues with their online payment system. I was attempting to make a one-time payment early through their customer portal using my debit card, and the system would not allow me to do so. Despite multiple attempts, the portal continuously failed to process my payment. I was specifically trying to be proactive and responsible by paying early not late and yet Uprovas system completely blocked me from doing so. This is unacceptable and extremely frustrating. A consumer should never be prevented from making an early payment simply because the companys technology or systems are unreliable. It makes absolutely no sense that a financial company would hinder a customer who is trying to pay before the due date. This kind of experience not only causes stress but also raises serious concerns about the integrity and functionality of Uprovas payment infrastructure and their overall commitment to consumer service.
I am submitting this complaint regarding what I believe to be predatory lending practices. I borrowed the lenders minimum loan amount of {$300.00}. I actually needed less than that, but due to time constraints, I had to make a quick decision and accept the minimum amount offered. I have made XXXX payments totaling {$390.00}. Despite making all required payments on time, only a little over {$5.00} has been applied toward my principal balance. The remainder has been applied entirely to interest. According to the payment schedule, I am still required to make XXXX additional payments of {$65.00} each which totals {$780.00} even though I have already paid {$390.00}. When I contacted customer service today ( XX/XX/year> ) to express my concerns and request clarification, the representative was extremely nonchalant and dismissive.…
I took out a personal loan on XX/XX/year>. The loan was for {$1500.00}. I discovered that the rate was 480.37 % on loan number XXXX. I reside in TX and the maximum rate is 12 % At the end of the loan, I would have paid {$5000.00}. This is not an installment loan. It is a payday loan. The comapny asks you when you get paid and then your payment due dates are set around that unless you request a different date. I am deeply concerned that I have been subjected to predatory lending practices. I am requesting that the CFPB investigates the actions of this lender as this payday loan should be void. I am also seeking relief from further collection activity related to this loan.
