I have a VW Credit auto lease account reporting as a charge-off on my credit report. Upon reviewing my credit report I discovered this account shows zero 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day late payments across its entire 49-month history, which is factually inconsistent with a charge-off status. A charge-off can not occur without a sequence of missed payments. I called VW Credit on XX/XX/XXXX and confirmed the account was charged off. However VW Credit also confirmed the account was paid in full through collection agency XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX with a {$0.00} balance. VW Credit acknowledged they can not change the charge-off notation despite the account being fully satisfied. I also discovered the account went to collections because VW Credit had an incorrect mailing address on file, meaning I never received any notices or communications about this account being in default.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Audi Financial Services and an unresolved dispute involving an early lease termination that has resulted in an inaccurate balance being assessed and negative credit reporting. I entered into a three-year vehicle lease with Audi Financial Services and maintained the account in good standing, making all payments on time for approximately two years. Prior to ending the lease early, I contacted Audi Financial Services directly to understand my financial obligations. During that conversation, I was informed by their representative that the vehicle would be sold upon return and that I would be responsible only for any difference between the vehicles value and the remaining payoff amount. Relying on these representations, I agreed to proceed with the early termination. I returned the vehicle as instructed. After the vehicle was sold, Audi Financial Services notified me that a deficiency balance of approximately {$1600.00} remained.
