Ally Financial repossessed my vehicle and officially changed the Florida title solely into Ally 's name on XX/XX/XXXX, completely removing my name. Later that month, I paid the full past-due amount and fees requested to reinstate my auto loan. Ally accepted my funds, restored my account to good standing, and has successfully accepted my regular monthly payments every month since. However, Ally completely neglected to rescind the digital Affidavit of Repossession with the Florida XXXX. I discovered this in XXXX when the XXXX XXXX Tax Collector denied my registration renewal because the vehicle title has remained solely in Ally 's name since XXXX XXXX have spent months being bounced between Allys customer service, title, redemption, and XXXX escalation XXXX. They claimed they must mail a physical " redemption package '' rather than updating the Florida XXXX electronically, but they have failed to do so.…

Last month, scammers hacked into my Ally bank account and initiated a fraudulent wire transfer of roughly {$25000.00}. Before they could succeed in finalizing the transfer, I figured out the scam and cancelled the transfer with Ally. Ally then proceeded to create entirely new accounts for myself and my family to keep our money safe. At that point, the scammers attempted unsuccessfully to guess my password. Ally then decided to " terminate the banking relationship, '' telling me they would send me a check in the mail containing literally all of my family 's money. That was a week ago. When I called them today to ask them for a tracking number for that check, they told me they haven't even cut the check. Their closure of my accounts has left us unable to pay our bills, pay our credit card balance, and withdraw cash. Because we can not pay our credit card balance, our credit is being destroyed.…
I have reached out to ally financial multiple times since regaining possession of my vehicle regarding my reinstatement letter which was never sent to me. Ive reached out XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX to request the letter be sent to me. Ive had them verify my address every time and I get the same answer of we will reach out to the repossession department and request a new letter is sent. I have yet to receive any letter and have been making payments on a car I dont technically own.
I hold a checking and savings account with Ally bank. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to use an ATM to withdraw {$100.00}. The ATM malfunctioned and I did not receive any money. {$100.00} ( XXXX + {$4.00} processing fee ) was removed from my account. I disputed the transaction, and provided images showing the ATM errors that were presented ; these errors indicated that the ATM was unable to dispense cash, and the ATM was now out of service. Ally eventually denied my ATM dispute ; I received one letter which said the 'transaction was authorized '. Between this letter ( in XX/XX/year> ), and today, XX/XX/year>, I have spent XXXX hours on the phone with Ally customer service over XXXX calls, trying to understand what they need to help me dispute this transaction. Every phone call I have been promised a follow up email or mail ; not once has this occurred. I have escalated to a supervisor with a promised follow up, and never has it occurred.
XXXX of XXXX, my leased vehicle with Ally Financial was nearing my lease end so I leased a new vehicle from the same dealership and they financed under a different financial institution. I never asked for this change but the dealership felt it was for my best interest. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Ally stating I owed {$300.00} for the balance of my lease. I contacted Ally the next day to dispute this debt and they stated over the phone that I owed nothing and the debt was paid. I then received another letter from Ally confirming the account was paid in full. A few weeks later, I received another letter from Ally stating I owed {$300.00}. This was received after I received the paid in full confirmation. I contacted Ally again and they stated over the phone, the account was paid in full. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating Ally reported this debt owed and XXXX is attempting to collect on their behalf.…

I was denied funding on a car loan that I applied for on XX/XX/XXXX. Ally financial denied funding due to the terms not being agreeable to them period I never follow through with obtaining a different set of terms. I never signed a separate contract. I never engaged in a second application. However, they opened up a later loan, claiming that I applied for another one. When I did not, they're using the original documents from the original loan that they denied the terms of XXXX funding it. Denying the application for a loan in the beginning to justify their fraudulent loan. That I didn't apply for it has different terms. Different payment standards and is a week out from the date that I applied. I applied XXXX XXXX I was denied XXXX XXXX first. The dealership apparently submitted another application in my name to which I did not authorize. Once, how is denied the first time?…
In XX/XX/XXXX, I financed a XXXX XXXX XXXX through the dealer. Within days, the vehicle developed serious mechanical and safety defects. I contacted the dealer and the lender multiple times requesting documentation, repair information, and clarification of the loan terms. I also requested proof of authorization for the credit inquiries made during the transaction, as well as an explanation for the negative credit reporting that appeared shortly after the loan was opened. XXXX closed my dispute without resolving the issues, even though the account remains in dispute and I believe the reporting is inaccurate. On XX/XX/XXXX, Ally Financial contacted me and stated that repossession activity was being initiated because no payments had been made. I explained that the account is the subject of an active dispute and that I previously filed a CFPB complaint concerning the loan transaction, the vehicle defects, and the credit reporting.…

My Ally Bank account has been locked since XX/XX/XXXX, and Ally is currently holding {$3700.00} of my XXXX XXXXXXXX ( XXXX ) benefit income my primary source of income which I can not access. The underlying issue was an honest mistake that I reported myself, proactively, before any lock occurred. On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed that I had accidentally deposited the same check at XXXX banks ( a memory error related to my XXXX ). That same day, I contacted Ally through online chat, explained it was an accidental duplicate, stated clearly that I was not attempting any fraud, and asked them to reverse the duplicate deposit. I have screenshots of this conversation. I believed the matter was resolved because I had disclosed it in advance. On XX/XX/XXXX, I initiated some transfers. After that, my account became locked. I called Ally on XX/XX/XXXX to find out why.…
I am filing this supplemental complaint because Ally Financial has now reported my account as a repossession to the credit bureaus and has closed my loan account even though I paid the amount required to redeem my vehicle. After more than twelve business days of delays, repeated requests for redemption information, conflicting explanations, and Allys admitted error regarding my account history, I ultimately paid the redemption amount to recover my vehicle. Despite doing so, Ally has now reported a repossession on my credit file and has closed my account. This action is deeply concerning because Ally previously acknowledged that it made errors in handling my account. Specifically, Ally admitted that it mistakenly treated my XXXX wrongful repossession as a valid repossession and used that error to conclude that I had experienced two repossessions within one year, resulting in an incorrect determination that I owed the entire remaining loan balance.…
On XX/XX/XXXX there was an unauthorized charge on my account with Ally Bank so I called the bank after they notified me of the unauthorized charge and they froze my card. They then told me that they can not ship out a replacement card because my account was overdrawn by the exact amount of the unauthorized charge and so I had to wait til XX/XX/XXXX when I got paid before ordering it. When I called the next day to see if it had shipped and if I could pay for overnight shipping they said it was too late to do that even though as of XX/XX/XXXX it still has not shipped. I called the bank today XX/XX/XXXX to again check the status and the representative told me I can transfer my funds to another bank. I told her I have never been able to do that with Ally and have reported that to them at least 3 times and every time they told me that I can and did not believe me. I have tried on the app and the website repeatedly and it will not work.…
What Happened : I am filing a formal dispute against Ally Bank for an explicit violation of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( XXXX ), Regulation XXXX, regarding an error resolution failure on an online bill payment. In XX/XX/year>, I utilized Ally Banks Bill Pay service to issue a recurring payment of {$760.00} to the payee " Peak XXXX administration, '' my XXXX XXXX with strict deadlines that result in loss of health coverage if not followed. While the first payment was sent and received successfully, for the second, Ally Bank successfully debited my account balance and officially marked the transaction status as " Processed XX/XX/XXXX '' Despite Ally taking my funds and verifying the transaction as complete, the payee never received the money, even after XXXX days.…
On XX/XX/2026 I made a payment of XXXX. Something told me like a week later to check my ally account to see if my payment posted which it didnt so I called them on XX/XX/2026 to ask why my payment wasnt posted on my account. Come to find out they posted it on another account and they told me that they were going to fix the issue to wait XXXX days. Time passes I call again on XX/XX/XXXX still the same answer which is another XXXX days at this point Im livid. So once again today on XX/XX/XXXX I call again and a lady hung up on me and stated she doesnt see a payment from XXXX just from XXXX. Which is false because I have the bank statement stating they took the money on the XXXX of XXXX so now again I have to wait another XXXX days.
On XX/XX/year>, I deposited a personal check for {$2500.00} through Ally Banks mobile deposit platform. Because the amount was significant and I wanted to ensure the funds had fully cleared before considering the matter resolved, I proactively contacted Ally Bank for confirmation. An Ally representative informed me that the funds were on hold until XX/XX/year>, and that once the hold expired the funds would be available in my account. I specifically expressed concern about whether the funds could later be returned or removed. In response, the Ally representative stated in writing, No worries, XXXX, the funds will not get return. Wanting additional confirmation, my wife contacted Ally Bank by phone on XX/XX/year>. She was again advised that the check had cleared and that the funds would not be removed from the account. Based on these repeated representations from Ally Bank, we reasonably believed the deposit had been fully processed and was no longer at risk of being reversed.…
On XX/XX/year> at XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, a {$50.00} electronic transfer was made from my Ally Bank account ( debit card ending XXXX ) to a XXXX XXXX balance. I did not authorize this transfer and received no benefit from it. I reported the error to Ally on XX/XX/year>. XXXX XXXX confirmed in writing ( email from XXXX XXXX XXXX dated XX/XX/year> ) that, under its bank-dispute process, it reversed the full {$50.00} back to my bank during the investigation. References : original transaction XX/XX/year> XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ; amount {$50.00} ; trace reference number XXXX ; authorization code XXXX. I provided this confirmation to Ally. Ally has refused to credit the {$50.00} to my account. Because XXXX XXXX has already reversed the funds back to Ally, the money is now in Ally 's possession ; there is no loss for Ally to absorb. Ally 's refusal violates Regulation E ( 12 C.F.R. 1005.11 ).…
On XX/XX/year>, at XXXX XXXX XXXX. I used the Ally XXXX mobile app to deposit a check.for {$500.00}. I received the standard email explaining that they had received my deposit. Usually I will receive a second email, explaining when my deposit will be available. The second email usually arrives early the next day, regardless if I make a deposit on a Friday. I did not receive the second email until the early morning on XX/XX/year>. This message stated that my deposit was submitted on XX/XX/year>. It also stated that the full amount would be available five days after the deposit date, and that I would not be receiving a partial amount. There was no reason provided for the delayed deposit, nor the delay in depositing the funds, or the partial amount not being deposited.
pened an Ally savings account approximately two weeks ago and deposited over {$60000.00}. Since opening the account, I have experienced repeated account lockouts and have been unable to reliably access my funds. I contacted Ally multiple times seeking assistance. During one call, I was disconnected by a representative. During a subsequent call, I was informed that my account was under review and that access could not be restored at that time. I was later told that the restriction was related to fraud concerns, potentially triggered by my use of different computers or devices to access the account. I am the legitimate account holder and am willing to complete any identity verification or security procedures necessary. However, Ally has not provided a clear explanation of what specific information or documentation is required, nor have they provided a timeline for resolving the issue and restoring access to my account.…
On XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that my XXXX Credit Report was now reporting that I had a delinquent loan originated in XX/XX/XXXX by Ally Bank. I know nothing about that loan and had nothing to do with its origination. I was actually incapacitated at that time and could not have originated that loan or any other loan. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and am a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Tennessee at XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX. Ive lived at this address the past 20 years. Based on info gleaned from my credit report I think the fraudulent loan may have originated in Florida. I have never lived or worked in Florida. The loan being reported as delinquent was not made by me or anyone I know. I had nothing to do with that loan. I am the victim of stolen identity and careless/ incompetent loan underwriting and origination by Ally. They need to remedy the problem they created.
I am filing this complaint against Ally Bank regarding the wrongful freezing and suspension of my account following the deposit of a legitimate legal settlement check. On XX/XX/year>, I deposited a settlement check in the amount of {$13000.00}. This check represents a legal settlement from a case handled by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). The settlement is legitimate and verifiable. This morning I received an email notification that my account has been fully suspended. I am now locked out of online banking entirely and can not access my funds or even view my account. My XXXX attorney was available by phone and spoke directly with an Ally Bank representative during a call that lasted approximately 45 minutes and still the account was not released. Following that call, I was told to call back when wait times were lower so that a representative could contact payroll to confirm the source of funds. I have done everything asked of me.…
Issue : Wire transfer system error repeatedly overriding the requested wire amount with full account balance, causing repeated rejections Summary : On XX/XX/year>, I submitted a domestic wire transfer request for {$530000.00} ( reference : XXXX ) to XXXX XXXX for a time-sensitive Treasury bond purchase. The amount was specifically calculated and validated to account for the {$20.00} wire fee against my account balance. I was told it would process by XX/XX/XXXX. By XX/XX/XXXX, it had not executed. After lengthy escalations ( including representatives XXXX and supervisor XXXX ), I was told the wire was rejected for insufficient funds despite my form correctly reflecting the fee deduction. I resubmitted ( reference : XXXX ) using the exact same validated amount. It was rejected again for the same reason.…
I got a loan from Ally a while back for a XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX I paid the remainder of the loan off, around $ XXXX. The account even said paid off. In XX/XX/XXXX I get notified that I owe them almost {$200.00}. I asked them to explain this. They said it was a finance fee for interests accrued from the last four years. I asked how is this possible if the loan was paid off. They said I dont pay the loan off but rather sent them money to cover four years of notes. Yet I sent them exact amount owed to pay it off. They chose to apply it to the next four years of monthly notes to keep loan alive instead of paying the loan off that day. If you take the amount I paid monthly when the loan was active and times that number by how many months past in those four years, it matches to the payoff amount. My account even states 100 % paid off. They refuse to take this amount off and are sending it to collections.…

Company : Ally Financial Category : Auto Loan / Lien Release What happened : In XXXX I financed a XXXX XXXX through Ally Financial for approximately {$17000.00} at 18 % APR. In XXXX I attempted to refinance with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to secure a lower interest rate. XXXX XXXX reached out to Ally multiple times to facilitate the refinance. Ally was unresponsive, causing the refinance to fall through. This was confirmed to me by XXXX XXXX on a recorded call. As a result I was stuck paying 18 % interest for approximately 4 years longer than necessary, costing me an estimated $ XXXX {$5000.00} in excess interest charges. The refinance with XXXX XXXX has since been completed. Ally is now refusing to release the lien on my vehicle to me directly or to the DC DMV, stating that only XXXX XXXX can request it. This is preventing me from selling my vehicle to a third party buyer and causing continued financial harm.…
I am a 10+ year Ally Bank XXXX with no prior issues. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/year>, I experienced a cascade of significant issues : ( 1 ) On XX/XX/year>, Ally identified suspicious activity on my account specifically what they later characterized as an attempted impersonation to add a XXXX XXXX external account. Ally 's verification process declined the request, indicating their system flagged it as suspicious. However, Ally provided no notification to me as the account holder and took no protective action on the account for approximately 48 hours. During this exposure window, a {$24000.00} wire arrived in my account. A genuine fraudster would have had two days of unmonitored access to the account. ( XXXX ) On XX/XX/XXXX, my accounts were frozen and I was placed in an " account takeover '' process. I received no proactive communication from Ally for nearly three business days, during which I had no access to funds critical to my daily life.…
I am submitting this supplemental complaint regarding Ally Financials continued mishandling of my account and vehicle repossession. As of today, it has been XXXX business days since my vehicle was repossessed on XX/XX/XXXX, and Ally Financial still has not provided me with the amount required to redeem my vehicle. Throughout this process, I have repeatedly contacted Ally seeking answers and attempting to resolve the matter. Instead of receiving clear information, I have been subjected to delays, contradictory explanations, repeated promises of callbacks that never occurred, and shifting timelines. Most recently, I was again told to wait an additional XXXX to XXXX business hours despite already waiting far beyond the timeframe previously provided. I continue to be denied the most basic information necessary to recover my vehicle. Ally has possession of my vehicle, yet no one can provide me with the amount I must pay to redeem it.…
I am requesting validation of the alleged debt referenced in your recent communication, including the original creditor, the total amount owed, documents proving my responsibility for the debt, and proof that your company is authorized to collect it.
I am submitting this complaint against Ally Financial regarding their failure to issue a GAP cancellation refund owed to my business, XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX financed the purchase of a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, Deal # XXXX ) through Ally Financial. As part of the transaction, a Guaranteed Asset Protection ( GAP ) Deficiency Waiver Addendum was purchased for {$890.00}, administered by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The XXXX contract was subsequently cancelled and a prorated refund was confirmed to be owed. The financing with Ally Financial has been paid in full, meaning the refund is owed directly to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX not applied to a loan balance. I purchased a XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX that has experienced repeated mechanical, electrical, and safety-related defects. The vehicle has had ongoing issues from the beginning of ownership, and the problems have continued despite my attempts to obtain repairs, documentation, diagnostic information, and assistance. I contacted the dealership and XXXX multiple times requesting a complete review, repair history, diagnostic findings, warranty assistance, and escalation to management. The vehicle continues to have unresolved defects affecting its safety, reliability, and intended use. I also contacted Ally Financial regarding this matter. Ally Financial informed me that the issue needed to be addressed directly with the dealership and that it was a dealership-related matter. Based on that instruction, I attempted to resolve the matter directly with the selling dealership. The dealership has failed to provide a satisfactory resolution, complete documentation, or a proper remedy.…
I received a notification from Ally bank that my debit card had been delivered to my mailbox. Upon checking my mailbox and my leasing office mailbox I found that it had not been delivered. In fact my mailbox was empty. I contacted Ally Bank via chat support and spoke with XXXX. She informed me that the system was reflecting a completed delivery and that I would need to cancel the originally ordered card and re-order a new debit card. Upon only placing a hold on the card, I contacted Ally Bank the next day via telephone and my representative informed me that the original card was still only in transit. Meaning that the representative XXXX has mislead ( lied to ) me into canceling my original card and ordering a new one thus prolonging delivery of my debit card, and furthering my lack of payment on bills for this pay period. Also the chat logs where she stated that it reflected a complete delivery status are unattainable
I lost my job and wasn't able to keep up with my full amount of payments. I requested a payment extention on several different occasions. Which they did honor until the last extention. Which they didn't honor because after paying them 3 full payments to keep my car from being repossessed the lifted all the extensions and told me that I still owed and my car wasn't out of repossession. This is unfair and completely predatory. The Predatory Lending Elimination Act ( S.3549 ) 140B protects consumers from companies like this preying on people who are in need of their product to maintain everyday life. These companies XXXX up interest rates and have unfair, unattainable fee and guidelines, and outrageous rates. So after Ally Financial took back the extentions and kept my repossession active in XXXX of XXXX, they finally repossessed the car in XX/XX/year>. Then they ended up keeping the balance owed on my credit as well as tacking on late payments well after I didn't possess the vehicle.…
I believe I was taking advantage of by the dealership I purchased this car from. They did not tell me the finance charges before I signed he hid those charges from me until after I signed I bought a used XXXX XXXX the car was {$20000.00} with a {$3000.00} down payment and {$17000.00} in finances. I have paid {$7000.00} into this car debt has not changed as well as the finance charges.Im always on time with my car notes.I feel like there were some hidden charges. I'm not aware of because my debt is not going down.
On XX/XX/year>, at approximately XXXX XXXX, representatives of XXXX XXXX XXXX arrived at my location to repossess my vehicle. Before the tow truck was connected to my vehicle and before any repossession had been completed, I clearly and verbally informed the repossession agents that I objected to the repossession and instructed them not to tow my vehicle. Despite my verbal objection, the repossession agents did not stop their actions. Instead, they proceeded to quickly connect the tow truck to my vehicle and continued with the repossession. My objection was made before the vehicle was hooked up to the tow truck, and the agents had the opportunity to cease their actions but chose to continue. I believe this conduct may constitute a breach of the peace under A.R.S. 47-9609, which permits repossession only if it can be accomplished without a breach of the peace.…
I am filing a complaint against Ally Bank regarding a restriction placed on my high-yield savings account and Ally 's refusal to provide a clear explanation or reasonable path to access my funds. I recently discovered that my Ally savings account had been restricted from making external transfers. When I attempted to resolve the issue, Ally representatives informed me that the restriction was related to XXXX. However, I do not use XXXX through Ally Bank. My XXXX account is linked to my credit union, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, not my Ally savings account. Despite multiple contacts with customer service, Ally has been unable to clearly explain : What specific XXXX account, email address, phone number, or activity allegedly caused the restriction. Why a Zelle-related issue would prevent access to a savings account that is not used with XXXX. What specific actions I must take to remove the restriction. How I can access my funds if the restriction remains in place.…
I am XXXX XXXX XXXX. I recently sold my house to move to where my daughter lives so she can help me. She has had a durable power of attorney that is notarized since XXXX. The proceeds from the sale of my house were wired into my Ally Bank account. I changed my address to the new address with Ally bank and added a new phone number. I need to access these funds because I am building a small house beside my daughter 's house. I need to pay contractors with the funds to build the new house. Starting on XX/XX/XXXX, Ally Bank has put holds on my account every time I try to make a withdrawal to pay the contractors that are building my house. Each time I have called to verify that it is me who is trying to get the money and that it is not fraudulent. I have verified their security questions each time. At some point they opened a fraud investigation and froze my account. I don't remember the exact date and I can't look it up because they have blocked me out from logging into my online account.…
