I am filing this complaint against XXXX ( Bilt ) for failing to conduct a proper and fair investigation into documented merchant fraud under the Fair Credit Billing Act ( FCBA ), and for completely ignoring my formal rebuttal and requests for documentation sent on XX/XX/year>. On XX/XX/year>, I attempted to purchase tickets for an event at the XXXX and was misled into a {$690.00} transaction by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ), a secondary resale platform that used predatory design tactics to masquerade as the official venue box office. Crucially, during the transaction 's verification process, the merchant sent an SMS message requesting authorization. I explicitly replied with " NO '' via SMS to reject the transaction and demand cancellation. The merchant willfully ignored my explicit rejection and forced the transaction through against my will. XXXX initially denied my dispute.…

I completed a balance transfer, that I initiated with my home bank ( XXXX XXXX ) to transfer a balance from my credit card with Bilt ( XXXX XXXX ). I initiated the transfer with XXXX XXXX like a normal balance transfer transaction. XXXX XXXX sent the payment to Bilt ( they use XXXX XXXX ) of the amount of {$2900.00} ( as I requested ). XXXX XXXX completed the balance transfer, confirmed XXXX XXXX received the funds, credit my XXXX BANK account as per usual operations and all was done. I saw the credit reflected via my Bilt account app of a payment of {$2900.00} that was posted ( photo attached for proof ). It then brought my current balance down to 0, which was the goal here. I was then planning on closing my Bilt account as the company has gone through many changes recently that I do not agree with, so I was looking forward to not having to interact with this organization as I've had many problems with their customer service in the past.…
Company : Bilt Technologies , Inc. ( Bilt Rewards ) Reference prior complaint : CFPB Complaint ID XXXX ( closed " with explanation, '' company response dated XX/XX/2026 ) Product : Credit card rewards/ rewards travel portal Complaint type : Reopening/ continued harm unresolved financial loss and bad-faith complaint handling -- - 1. Why I am filing again I am filing this new complaint because my prior complaint ( ID XXXX ) was closed " with explanation '' on the basis of a response from Bilt that was materially incomplete and that substituted a technicality for an actual resolution. Bilt 's response argued, in effect, that because its travel portal never produced a confirmed booking, " no travel services were purchased '' and therefore Bilt " does not have a basis to provide reimbursement, '' citing Terms that limit liability for consequential damages. That reasoning inverts the actual problem. The harm to me was not caused by a completed transaction.…
I had scheduled XXXX single payment for the statement balance of {$3800.00} for XX/XX/year>. The credit card company " Bilt '' and their partner " Cardless '' deducted the same amount twice on XX/XX/XXXX instead of XXXX as I had scheduled. I raised this issue with Bilt 's cards partner for payment processing on XX/XX/XXXX and asked them to refund the over deducted amount. They said they will review and get back to me without providing any ETA on when my refund would be processed. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Cardless again to get a follow-up on the refund request and they said someone will review and get back to me. Again did not provide any ETA on the overpayment refund which was deducted over a week ago. This delay in processing the refund has caused me to be short on funds that I planned for other bills I have to pay for. Credit Card companies normally charge penalties to their customers if payments are delayed.…
I was using Bilts Mortgage AutoPay feature to make payments on my XXXX mortgage. In XX/XX/year>, Bilt changed their payment processing policy without notifying me. Previously, payments were handled through a deferred debit mechanism. Under the new policy, funds are debited from the linked bank account immediately when a payment is generated. I was never informed of this change via email, SMS, in-app notification, or any other means. Because I had no knowledge of this change, I continued to assume my XX/XX/year> mortgage payment ( {$1500.00} ) was being processed normally. It was not until XXXX XXXX that I discovered, through a credit monitoring alert, that XXXX had reported a missed payment to the credit bureaus, significantly damaging my credit score. I contacted Bilt about this issue, but they have declined to acknowledge responsibility. I also contacted XXXX, who stated they reported the payment accurately and directed me to submit a dispute.…
My Bilt XXXX, issued by XXXX XXXX. and serviced by XXXX XXXX, has been frozen since approximately XX/XX/XXXX more than two months with no prior notice and no written adverse action notice explaining the reason. Since the freeze, I have contacted support more than 10 times via in-app chat and phone. In-app support has repeatedly confirmed in writing that my account has been unfrozen, but the card remains inoperable on every subsequent attempt to use it. These false confirmations are documented in my saved chat transcripts. When I called the customer service number on the back of the card, the representative stated they could not see that my card was frozen. They then transferred me across multiple entities ( XXXX, Bilt Rewards, and a third party ). No party would take ownership of the issue and I was offered no path forward. I currently hold a credit balance of approximately {$680.00} on this account.…
On XXXX XXXX, my mother used her XXXX XXXX XXXX by XXXX to pay Bilt Rewards for a rent payment to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) in the amount of {$1700.00}. XXXX charges went through totaling {$3400.00}. Only XXXX payment was authorized. She filed a dispute with XXXX for the duplicate charge. XXXX issued a provisional credit of {$1700.00} around XX/XX/year>. XXXX disputed the chargeback and supplied information on XX/XX/year>. The chargeback was reversed on XX/XX/year> and her provisional credit was removed. She canceled the dispute and decided to use the overage of funds toward paying rent. No refund was ever recieved. Bilt 's own dispute records, provided by Bilt Rewards XXXX XXXX via email, show the following timeline through their payment processor XXXX : - XX/XX/year> : Chargeback opened- XX/XX/year> : Bilt supplied information - XX/XX/year> : Chargeback reversed - XX/XX/year> : XXXX processed Bilt debited She did not initiate a second chargeback.…
I applied for a Bilt XXXX Card and was denied based on identity verification. Under the FCRA and XXXX, I have a right to an Adverse Action Notice. Cardless Support ( Ref # XXXX ) claims the notice was sent, but I have not received it. Phone representatives for XXXX ( XXXX ) have stated they have 'no transparency ' and refuse to escalate the call or provide the specific denial codes or the 'outside source ' used for the denial. This is a violation of my rights to see the data being used to flag my identity. Im assuming this might have something to do with my phone number as its fairly new to me. My XXXX XXXX is nearly XXXX so I dont believe that to be the issue.
Hi so about XXXX weeks ago I went to pay my rent at the first of the month. Bilt was meant to pay {$1600.00} and then I was going to pay them. I ended up incurring a {$100.00} late fee from my apartment building due to them not addressing the issue. I was issued a {$100.00} check to cover the late fee from Bilt. Since then it has been well over a week and no one has gotten back to me. I have been getting the run around about making sure my app is up to date ( when its been up to date ). This all stems from me trying to pay my rent but Bilts system could not process it. I have proof of me trying to pay and only getting a technical error and Bilt not addressing it.
Bilt XXXX Credit Card - XX/XX/year> I was denied due to " unable to verify identity ''. They will not provide where identity fails nor provide a pathway to submit verification for a manual review, as every other company will do. I have a rural address. Physical address is different than mailing address. Most of the time I have to submit additional information for a manual review due to the rural address issue. I have successfully gotten our address USPS verified in the XXXX. I have updated all credit bureaus and ensured all other credit cards have the same address. I'm still fighting XXXX XXXX to get it right. I don't know what else to fix. There is NO financial reason I should be denied. My 45 day reapplication period comes up next week. But if I don't know where the disconnect is, I can't fix it and will likely have the same identity verification failure.…
On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed my Bilt credit card was not able to make any purchases so I called customer service and asked for a reason. I was told my account is locked due to suspicious activity and was asked to provide informations to the security team who can verify my identity in order to unfreeze/unlock my card. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email requesting for a certain type of selfie that showed myself holding my government issued ID. I immediately sent it back to the credit card team with what they requested. On XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I have called their number and emailed the credit card company multiple times to follow up. Every time the answer they provided is the same, as they are still looking into the issue and no estimated timeline they can provide me. As of today, after a month, my card is still locked.
I am being charged for items which are not described or itemized. I do not get a response when I attempt to reach support. I am not able to each a person when I telephone for an explanation. I answering machine refers me to support. Company information is as follows : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX XXXX.
I am a BUILT customer using their credit card for my rent payments. BUILT sent me a new XXXX card to replace their old card, and as a result, during the transition from the old card ( backed by XXXX XXXX ) to the new XXXX card, they incorrectly transferred a $ XXXX balance to my new XXXX card. I tried to reach out to both XXXX XXXX and XXXX several times, and both parties blame the other side for the error. I opened a support case ( # XXXX ) with BUILT XX/XX/year> and where the customer service requested " last XXXX XXXX XXXX statements ( covering the period around the time of your balance transfer ) ''. I provided those statements on the same day, via email. The statements clearly show that XXXX has made an error when transitioning my account over from XXXX XXXX. Since then, I have reached out to support multiple times by phone and email, and every time I receive the same answer : the case is being processed, and there is no ETA for resolution.…
On XXXX XXXX, my Bilt XXXX account, serviced by XXXX and issued by XXXX XXXX, was suddenly suspended during a normal purchase attempt at XXXX for approximately {$600.00}. Prior to the suspension, I had recently paid my account balance in full, including a statement balance of approximately {$17000.00}, and my account was current with no missed payments. After the suspension, I received an email from XXXX stating that my account had been temporarily suspended as part of a review and requesting identity verification documents, including a photo of myself holding a government-issued ID. I promptly provided all requested documentation on XX/XX/year>. Since then, my account has remained frozen and I have not received any meaningful update regarding the status of the review, expected timeline, or whether additional information is needed.…
the company XXXX careless sent me 3 credit cards each time I called and said this card is unartorized please close/freeze. I'm constantly getting emails that this company will be charging my checking account for {$3200.00}. the company refuses to stop.
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to formally file a complaint against Bilt Technologies , Inc. regarding the handling of my credit card account. My card was unexpectedly frozen following an attempted car insurance payment. I immediately contacted both BILT and XXXX customer support to resolve the issue. During that interaction, I was asked to provide a photo of myself holding my identification for verification purposes, which I submitted promptly. It has now been six days, and I have not received any follow-up communication or resolution. Despite multiple attempts to contact support and requests to escalate my case, I have been unable to reach anyone who can provide assistance or a clear timeline for resolution. As a result, I am currently unable to use my card for payments or earn points, while I continue to be charged the cards premium fee. This situation is unacceptable and reflects very poor customer service and support responsiveness.…
On XX/XX/year>, I received an email from XXXX ( the servicer of my Bilt XXXX ) informing me that my account had been temporarily suspended pending a profile change review. The email ( support request # XXXX ) requested that I reply with a photo of myself holding a valid government-issued photo ID. I submitted the requested photo and ID the same day, on XX/XX/year>. It has now been 10 days since I submitted the requested documentation, and my account remains suspended. I have received no further communication from XXXX or Bilt regarding the status of the review, no estimated timeline beyond a vague 'two-week review ' window, and no explanation of what triggered the suspension in the first place. My attempts to follow up through customer service have not produced any meaningful update or expedited handling. This card is my primary means of payment, and the prolonged suspension is preventing me from paying time-sensitive medical bills.…
I had submitted a payment through Bilt for my rent fees on XX/XX/XXXX. There was an error in the payment and I was told to submit the payment again. I was told that they would not double charge me, and was promised nothing would happen but it has double charged me for {$200.00}. I cant afford to be out or {$200.00}. Ive reached via support chat and their inactive phone number but I havent received an answer back. This is unacceptable.
I opened a Bilt XXXX Credit Card on XX/XX/year>, serviced by XXXX. I paid a {$99.00} annual fee at account opening. The following issues remain unresolved as of today : 1. ACCOUNT FROZEN WITHOUT NOTICE : My account has been suspended without clear explanation and without proactive notification. As a result, my mortgage and HOA payments have been declined for weeks, causing late fees and financial harm. 2. REFUSAL TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT : I formally requested in writing on XX/XX/year> that my account be closed. I stated clearly that I am ready and willing to pay my outstanding balance of {$190.00} in full upon account reactivation. The company refused to close my account. 3. REFUSAL TO REFUND THE {$99.00} ANNUAL FEE : I paid a {$99.00} annual fee in good faith. Bilt failed to deliver the services and support promised at account opening over a period of more than two months. I formally requested a refund of this fee and was refused. 4.…
I am writing to request a {$50.00} statement credit to reimburse a fee I incurred due to a technical failure of the Bilt XXXX feature. I am a resident of XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to pay my rent on time using Bilt XXXX. My linked bank account had sufficient funds ; however, the transaction failed due to what Bilt 's notification described as a connection/synchronization issue. Immediately upon receiving the failure alert, I manually processed the payment using my original method to ensure the rent was paid. Despite my prompt action, my property management has charged me a {$50.00} failed payment fee and refused to waive it, claiming the responsibility lies with the payment processor ( Bilt ). As this fee was caused by a malfunction of a core Bilt feature ( Bilt XXXX ) and not by any fault of my own, I am asking Bilt to credit my account {$50.00} to cover this loss.…
Card was locked due to an unauthorized charge. Company asked for verificaiton which I provided. It has been several weeks with no response after multiple inquiries to status.
I have been bilt palladium card member since XX/XX/2026. This is their most expensive card with yearly fee of {$490.00}. My expectation was of great customer service. My account is in good standing with all paymentsbpaid in full. My fico scorebisnin XXXX and i am always dutiful in paying my bills. From XX/XX/XXXX credit card transactions started getting declined. I was initially confused but it kept happening. After few days i called the company 1800 number. They informed that my card has been frozen with no concrete reason. Only after calling me they sent an email asking for a picture with valid id. After having cards from XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX for 25 years in america, i have never been requested a picgure with id. Seems like this company does not know what they are doing. After sending what is requested they still havent fixed the issue. They do not provide any periodic updates about progress either. I have automatic payments set on card for bills.…
On XX/XX/year>, my account was compromised by fraud. I immediately contacted the fraud team, provided photo ID and all requested documentation within hours. My account was suspended for investigation ( internal case # XXXX ) and marked " high urgency. '' It is now XX/XX/year> XXXX days later and the investigation remains unresolved with no timeline provided. The company promised an update by XX/XX/XXXX over the phone but I never received an email update. I have attempted to follow up multiple times via email ( no responses ) and phone calls ( no substantive updates ). I am unable to : Make payments on the existing balance Close the account ( company refuses while " under investigation '' ) Get any written confirmation about fee/interest waivers or protection from negative credit reporting On today 's call ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I received only verbal assurances that fees would be waived, but nothing in writing and still no resolution timeline.…
On XX/XX/year>, I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX on my Bilt Mastercard issued by XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/year>, that item was stolen while in transit. I filed a claim under the Mastercard Purchase Assurance benefit, but it was denied without a specific written reason. I have requested in writing ( a ) a copy of the written denial citing the specific exclusion or provision relied upon, and ( b ) a copy of the Mastercard Purchase Assurance benefits guide that was in effect on the date of purchase. XXXX XXXX has refused to provide the benefits guide, stating I must access it through their online portal. However, both card numbers associated with this account have been closed during the migration of the XXXX program to a new issuer ( the original Bilt card used for the purchase and a temporary XXXX XXXX card issued on or about XX/XX/year> ). Neither card number is accessible to me in the XXXX XXXX online portal.…
* * Misleading credit impact disclosure Bilt Credit Card account change * * * * Complaint : * * I am filing this complaint regarding misleading information provided to me by Bilt Rewards in connection with a credit card account transition. At the end of last year, I was informed that my existing Bilt credit card ( previously associated with XXXX XXXX ) would be replaced or transitioned to a new card. During this process, I was explicitly told that accepting the new card would NOT result in any credit inquiry or any negative impact to my credit report. At no point was I clearly informed that this would be treated as a new account or reported as such to the credit bureaus. Based on this representation, I agreed to proceed. Had I been properly informed, I would not have agreed to proceed with the new account.…
I am filing a complaint regarding an incorrect {$5500.00} balance on my Bilt credit card account following a servicing transition from XXXX XXXX to XXXX. My XXXX XXXX statement clearly shows that I made payments totaling {$8400.00} during the XXXX billing period, including a {$5500.00} payment posted on XX/XX/XXXX labeled PAYMENT THANK YOU. This was a direct payment to XXXX XXXX, not a balance transfer. After these payments, my account had a credit balance of - {$2800.00}, confirming that I overpaid the account. This overpayment occurred because of confusion between XXXX XXXX and XXXX during the transition period of the Bilt card. As I later learned from XXXX XXXX, one of my payments ( {$2800.00} ) was returned due to the transition, and I was subsequently issued a refund check for that amount. However, this does not change the fact that the {$5500.00} payment was successfully made and applied as a payment to my account.…
Hello, I am filing a formal complaint regarding an unauthorized charge of {$4000.00} posted to my Bilt XXXX account on XX/XX/year>, labeled XXXX * BILT RENT XXXX XXXX XXXX Bilt incorrectly identified this charge as my XXXX rent payment. This is inaccurate. My actual XXXX rent was paid separately and appears on a later statement, which I have already provided to both Bilt and XXXX XXXX as supporting documentation. This confirms that the XX/XX/XXXX charge is not a valid rent payment and was not authorized by me. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with Bilt, I have received conflicting information, inaccurate explanations, and no clear resolution. I was initially told this charge represented my XXXX rent, despite clear proof showing otherwise. After repeated back and forth emails and documentation, I was then told that rent and housing payments are handled by a separate Bilt Rewards team through the in-app chat feature.…
I contacted Bilt about interest charges that posted after a one-day late payment during the XXXX XXXX to Bilt card transition. My autopay had been turned off during the transition, and I believe I re-enabled it when I received the new card, but the payment did not go through. Once I realized the payment was a day late, I paid the account in full immediately. Bilt initially reversed the late fee, but several days later two interest charges totaling approximately {$100.00} posted to my account. I contacted customer service multiple times and was eventually offered a {$25.00} waiver, which I agreed to only if the case would remain open and continue to be reviewed. I was told it would be escalated and was given Bilt Incident # XXXX. After that, I received no meaningful update. About 3 weeks later, I reached back out and I was told I would receive an email within a few hours, but no email was sent.…
I had the Bilt XXXX card. In XXXX, they transitioned to a different bank to the XXXX changing some of the features of the card. Apparently, you can still pay rent on the card, but now it pulls from your checking account instead. It has been a very confusing process and Bilt has changed its features numerous times with the new cards. And since they keep changing, I was unaware that this would pull from my checking account, thus overdrawing my account for XXXX rent. I turned off this feature to prevent this issue happening, and XXXX rent had the same issue, where it pulled out of my checking account and overdrew it. I have tried to contact Bilt numerous times to get this fixed, but it has been exhausting to say the least as there really isnt a way to speak with a live person. It has to be done through AI chat or email for support. Because of these issues, I had to pay my rent through my leasing complex portal to avoid any late issues.…
On XX/XX/2026 my Bilt XXXX credit card was frozen under the suspicion of fraud. It wasnt fraud. I accidentally charged more than my available credit and Bilt stated it was fraud. I knowingly made the charge and it was declined because of insufficient funds but my card was frozen. I called Bilt on XX/XX/XXXX to get my card unfrozen however the customer rep told me to email them a photo selfie of myself taking a photo with my government ID. This sounded very much like a scam and was suspicious. I told them I would not email my government id to a random email address that was unsecured and I demanded to speak to a supervisor to no avail. I was then told my case would be escalated and I should wait to hear back. 4 days later I still had not heard back so I called in and the agent told me they see my case but to wait longer.…
