Debt collection· Attempts to collect debt not owedVA

I am submitting this complaint regarding XXXX XXXX 's attempt to collect an alleged medical debt on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I dispute the validity, amount, and legal enforceability of every account referenced in the collection notice dated XXXX XXXX XXXX, which alleges a total balance of {$2300.00}. I timely disputed these accounts directly with XXXX XXXX and requested validation under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), 15 U.S.C. 1692g. Specifically, I requested documentation establishing that I have a legal obligation to pay the alleged debt, including signed financial responsibility documents, complete itemized billing statements, documentation showing how the balances were calculated, and documentation demonstrating XXXX XXXX 's legal authority to collect on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I also requested that XXXX cease communications except as permitted by 15 U.S.C. 1692c ( c ), pending proper validation of the disputed accounts.

Under Colorado law, hospitals are prohibited from pursuing debt collection when they fail to comply with these transparency requirements. The original bill was tens of thousands of dollars.

I am filing this complaint because XXXX, the debt collector for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, continues to report and update a disputed account without providing sufficient evidence that the information being reported is accurate. After I disputed this account, rather than conducting a reasonable investigation, the account was simply updated and continued to be reported. I requested validation and documentation supporting the alleged debt, including documentation showing I am legally responsible for the balance and that the amount being reported is accurate. I have not received sufficient documentation to verify the debt. I also dispute the accuracy of the information being reported to the credit reporting agencies. Simply updating the account without verifying the information does not satisfy the obligation to conduct a reasonable investigation when a consumer disputes the accuracy of an account. As a result, this inaccurate reporting continues to damage my credit.

I am filing a complaint against this company for reporting an account that I believe is inaccurate and unauthorized. This negative reporting is affecting my ability to purchase a home. The company did not properly notify me about this account and has not provided any proof that the debt is valid, despite my request. I never authorized this account or gave permission for it to be reported. Because of this, I believe the account resulted from unauthorized activity and should be removed or blocked immediately. This situation also appears to be a deceptive practice, where accounts are reported without proper notice or verification.

After contacting the collections agency they told me that this debt came from the southwest anesthesiologist group as a physician bill that I never received. Company is attempting to collect a debt without verification. If the debt is medically related, company has not proven they issued the debt and for what reason. I have not received any form of receipt, etc. Company must keep in mind if medically related, they do not have access to my medical records, or any subsequent tests run to incur debt, as this is a HIPPA violation. I have never signed a release or waiver of personal information to acquire this knowledge if medically related. Requesting verification and validation ( separately ) of debt, and date debt was incurred originally.

This debt collector has done unjustifiable practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. They furnished this account that we didn't agree upon and I didn't sign an agreement on. A legal contract is signed by two parties and I did not participate in any of it. they didn't follow the proper 5-step validation procedure. According to the FDCPA, Im entitled to compensation for these violations and clearly, they violated my rights and abused my privileges. I demand this account be taken off immediately. This inaccurate collection account is unfairly damaging my credit and making it extremely difficult for me to secure stable housing and provide a safe home for myself and my family.

This company will every few years call me to attemt to scare me into paying a credit card that I defaulted on in XXXX. This debt is WAY past the legal time to sue, garnish wages, or levy bank accounts on. This is what they say when they call and threaten me for non-payment. I explain to them that this debt is beyond limits on collecting and they start berating me as person. Saying that I am a thief and I willing did this to defraud a company and I will be getting court papers for a law suit. It is all empty threats that they do trying to get a single cent to reset the clock on this. They always give vague info on who they are. They will not provide any real company information that a legitimate collection agancy would. They keep calling every day until I finally get them so agravated that I am not a fool that will give into thier illegal tactics. This is for a XXXX ( XXXX ) Credit Card that yes I defaulted on.
