Vehicle loan or lease· Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problemPA

I am submitting this complaint regarding my account with CarMax Auto Finance ending in XXXX. Since opening this account in XX/XX/year>, I have maintained approximately 98 % on-time payments with only XXXX isolated XXXX late payment. The account is otherwise in good standing and significantly paid down. I requested a goodwill adjustment due to the negative impact this late payment is having on my mortgage/renting qualification. Although CarMax acknowledged my request, I received what appeared to be a generic denial response focused only on accurate reporting, despite me clearly stating that I was requesting discretionary goodwill consideration, not disputing accuracy. I am respectfully requesting a meaningful XXXX review and reconsideration of a one-time goodwill adjustment based on my strong payment history, long-standing account status, and mortgage-related hardship impact.

Vehicle loan or lease· RepossessionNC

I am filing a complaint regarding the handling of my repossessed vehicle and the loss of my personal property. After my vehicle was repossessed in XX/XX/year>, I made multiple attempts to retrieve my belongings using the instructions provided by the company and their third-party recovery vendor. I went in person to the address I was given and was instructed to call a number to schedule an appointment. I made multiple attempts to call that number, but no one answered and no return calls were made. I was also directed to contact Consumer Relations, and I did not receive a response. At a later point, when I was finally able to make contact, I was told that my belongings were not ready, not that they had been disposed of. I was never clearly informed of any deadline or that my property would be permanently discarded. The company is now denying my claim, stating that no attempt was made to retrieve my items within 30 days. This is inaccurate.

This issue was not isolated and continued repeatedly over the course of ownership, typically occurring after approximately 1520 minutes of driving.

ILLEGAL REPOSSESSION REPORTING & XXXX XXXX VIOLATION : Carmax Auto Finance ( Acct # XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CAF is reporting a repossession that is legally deficient. Under the California Rees-Levering Act ( Civil Code 2983.2 ), CAF is required to send a Notice of Intent to Dispose of a Motor Vehicle. I was never provided this legal notice. License Plate : XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX VIN : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I am filing this complaint against CarMax for their refusal to provide a " Letter of No Interest '' or a notarized lien release for a vehicle they do not own and have no financial interest in. This administrative negligence has resulted in my vehicle being placed in " Prior Suspense '' status with the California DMV, rendering it legally undriveable since XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I refinanced my vehicle from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. During this process, a clerical error occurred where the previous lienholder ( XXXX XXXX ) erroneously sent the title release to CarMax instead of the new lienholder or myself. Vehicle loan or lease· Incorrect information on your reportCA

On XX/XX/year>, I submitted a direct dispute to CarMax Auto Finance ( confirmed received via certified mail ) disputing the accuracy of the balance being reported on my auto loan account. The vehicle securing the loan was declared a total loss, and insurance proceeds sufficient to satisfy the loan payoff were tendered. However, the lender delayed accepting or processing the insurance payment for several months. During that period, the account appears to have accrued interest, fees, and penalties despite the fact that the insurance proceeds necessary to satisfy the obligation had already been made available. I specifically requested documentation substantiating the reported balance, including the payoff amount as of the date the insurance proceeds were first tendered, the date those funds were applied, a complete transaction history, and the contractual basis for charges assessed after the insurance payoff was available.

I am submitting a complaint regarding my experience with CarMax Auto Finance and their policy on late fee reversals. I acknowledge that I have incurred late fees on my account due to past late payments. I take full responsibility for those delays. At this time, however, my account is fully current. My concern is with CarMax Auto Finances strict policy of allowing only one late fee reversal per loan term, regardless of customer history or circumstances. Over the past 23 years, I have financed four vehicles through CarMax Auto Finance, all purchased through CarMax. This demonstrates a long-standing and loyal customer relationship. Despite this history, I was informed that no additional consideration could be given beyond a single late fee credit. I am not requesting a full refund of all late fees, but rather a reasonable accommodationsuch as a partial reduction of accumulated fees ( approximately {$200.00} total ).

In XX/XX/XXXX, I financed a vehicle through CarMax Auto Finance. In approximately XX/XX/XXXX, I completed a trade-in transaction at CarMax and obtained new financing through a separate lender. As part of that transaction, CarMax Auto Finance provided a payoff amount directly to my new lender. That payoff amount was relied upon and paid in full to satisfy the loan. After the transaction was completed, I was not informed of any remaining balance on the account. I did not receive any notice of a deficiency, missed payment, or issue related to the payoff. Several weeks later, I discovered that CarMax Auto Finance had applied an additional balance of approximately {$5000.00} to the account. I was eventually informed that this balance resulted from a check that was retroactively determined to have bounced, which was not reflected at the time the payoff amount was calculated and provided.

I am filing a renewed complaint regarding inaccurate reporting, improper accounting, and failure to conduct a reasonable investigation into my disputed auto loan account. My vehicle was declared a total loss. Insurance proceeds and GAP coverage were applied to the account. Despite this, CarMax Auto Finance claims that a remaining balance of {$9400.00} exists. However, they have failed to provide a complete and verifiable accounting supporting this figure. The transaction history provided by CarMax shows that for an extended period, the principal balance remained unchanged at approximately {$23000.00} despite ongoing payments, fees, and account activity. This strongly indicates that payments were not properly applied or that the account was not accurately maintained. Additionally, I previously contacted CarMax directly via email disputing this account and requesting documentation.

I am requesting that this account be corrected and updated to accurately reflect the status of the vehicle after voluntary surrender. The vehicle was surrendered and is no longer in my possession. This account is being falsely reported on my consumer credit file. I dispute this debt in its entirety.
