I borrowed {$4000.00} over a year ago and have paid back more than that and still owe over {$5000.00}. I cant get out of a hole and its ridiculous. Im going to lose my car to Titlemax because they keep making my debt so big I cant pay it. I dont know what to do.
I applied for a loan at TitleMax. The loan officer stole my debit card number and paid her personal bills and the payments started before I even left the office. She used my card for a total of {$2300.00}. I was also informed that this was not the first time it has happened. I don't know if they meant just with that employee or throughout the company. It caused me emotional distress, instead of being able to pay what I needed I fell behind and still continue to struggle due to late fees. I did file police report, complaint with company, disputed transactions with bank and it was a struggle to get my money. I don't know the outcome of this loan officer. I did pursue to file charges but have not received any word from police department.
" I am a TitleMax customer in Missouri. TitleMax is actively blocking me from accessing my loan terms, interest details, and principal balance. Their online portal is stuck in a permanent 'device verification ' loop because my profile contact information is incorrect or locked on their backend. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX browsers all fail. Corporate customer service lines are completely unreachable. Furthermore, my local branch refuses to print my paperwork or email me a copy of my signed contract. I am demanding that TitleMax immediately provide a full copy of my loan agreement, an updated transaction history, and fix my profile access so I can manage my account. ''

On XX/XX/XXXX I have called my local TitleMax office to obtain the amount needed for a renewal on my account before I go into the store. I was informed at that time of the amount and that the TitleMax headquarters has added an additional amount of {$210.00} to my account for a bank reversal they claim happened in XX/XX/XXXX. I was informed by the store manager that I have to pay both amounts or my car will be repossessed and she can not just take my current loan amount to renew. I have renewed on line and that account is current. I was told by the store manager since she didnt have any information on that reversal to contact headquarters. I was on the phone for hours and finally was able to file a complaint with TitleMax resolution department ticket # XXXX and asked for proof of the debt I owed. I was told i will receive an email or a phone call to resolve the matter or be provide a proof. It 7 days today since then I have received no calls or emails.
From XX/XX/year> - present I have contacted the local Title Max and their corporate office to sign the letter and send the documents to my insurance company that they need to issue the payout. They have consistently given me information that is false. They claim to have emailed the documents but refused to verify the email to where they were sent. They claimed to have sent to the wrong email address and have yet to correct it. I am so disillusioned with this company and my balance continues to rise as this is going on. It is preventing me from receiving my payout from the insurance company to get another vehicle. ( The car was totaled. ) They have it in their power to handle this quickly and they continue to not care. It is criminal. My family is hurting because of this.
XX/XX/year>, received call from speedy cash saying I was approved for XXXX loan, asked me to pay XXXXdollars for insurance witch I did, later called back wanting XXXX dollars for a processing fee witch I told them I didnt have and to cancel loan and send my XXXX back

I am submitting this complaint to request the immediate lien release and return of a vehicle title due to predatory lending practices. TitleMax is unlawfully withholding a vehicle title in violation of state lending caps and/or court orders. The company has engaged in deceptive sales practices, specifically structuring payments so that they only cover interest and rarely touch the principal balance, leading to predatory lending and an illegal car seizure. Furthermore, this company has been involved in a violation of the Military Lending Act by issuing high-interest loans. I am citing TitleMax 's documented history of illegal lending practices, including their recent settlement with the State of Georgia ( which ordered XX/XX/XXXXXXXX in consumer restitution and a XX/XX/XXXXXXXX civil penalty ) and previous fines levied by the CFPB. Actions already taken regarding this dispute include : XX/XX/XXXX Filing a previous complaint with the CFPB on XX/XX/year>2025.…
They said they put in the computer under my name the date I would be in to pay. It was never put in the computer & the local title max said they didn't have it repossessed .. I made 4 documented payments totaling {$730.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/year> ) to TitleMax loan account [ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ]. Despite providing proof of payment, TitleMax reports a balance of {$5100.00}, which is mathematically impossible. * * Original loan : {$1000.00} * * Payments made : - {$730.00} * * Expected balance : ~ {$260.00} * * Reported balance : {$5100.00} * * Discrepancy : {$4900.00} * * TitleMax admits their system shows an 'unexpected amount of {$1000.00} ' but refuses to provide itemized breakdown of charges. They are now threatening repossession despite unpaid payments being credite
In XX/XX/XXXX, I was contacted regarding a debt associated with Speedy Cash. I was led to believe that XXXX XXXX XXXX owned or was authorized to collect this debt. Based on that representation, I agreed to settle the account and made XXXX payments totaling {$1500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( {$750.00} via XXXX XXXX XXXX debit card and {$750.00} via XXXX XXXX card ending in XXXX ; Reference No. XXXX ). Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I respectfully submit this rebuttal to TitleMax of Nevada, Inc.s latest response. I do not consider this matter resolved and respectfully request that the CFPB continue its review and investigation. After reviewing TitleMaxs latest response and the supporting documentation they have chosen to produce, my concerns have not been resolved. Instead, the records produced by TitleMax raise additional questions regarding notice, account access, payoff information, servicing practices, repossession procedures, and the completeness of their disclosures. At this stage, many of the concerns raised in this complaint are no longer based solely upon my recollection of events. They arise directly from TitleMaxs own records, timelines, statements, and explanations. As additional information has been produced, new inconsistencies have emerged rather than existing concerns being resolved.…

I do not have a loan with this company, the company in questioned is TitleMax. Back in XXXX of XXXX, I did a one time payment for someone and we have since found out that TitleMax stored my card by default without me or loan holder opting in to this. That means them storing the card was never approved. So, on XXXX the XXXX XXXX they did an unauthorized transaction on my card in the amount of {$72.00}. And, in XX/XX/year> they did another fraudulent unauthorized charge of {$1200.00}. Like, I said, I do not have a loan with this company and I have not signed any agreements with them. TitleMax stored your card without consent and processed multiple unauthorized charge to cover someone else 's balance. The loan holder called them and explained what had happened and they told her, since that amount was owed, we cant grant a refund even if they did store without consent and they admitted to doing multiple unauthorized charges on it.…

I borrowed {$3800.00} from Title Max XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TN XXXX ) against my title on XX/XX/XXXX and I've been paying on the debt monthly. I was unaware until recently that ( Title Max : the giant title-lender founded in XXXX, was fined millions of dollars by the Consumer Financial Protection ) for the same reason I'm complaining about them now. I realize recently that I've been setup up this entire time, so they could take my van by charging high interest rates, adding really high late fees to ensure that my debt would become much higher even though I pay on it monthly. On XX/XX/XXXX of this year I approved {$300.00} be deducted from my Debit card as partial payment toward my debt. On XX/XX/XXXX they took my debit card information and took all the money I had in my bank account ( {$1000.00} which was meant for paying rent and a couple of other debts for the next month.…

In XX/XX/year>, my vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in significant frame damage. The vehicle was inspected and deemed inoperable and beyond repair. Upon learning this, I immediately contacted TitleMaxs corporate office to discuss my options. I was instructed to work directly with my local store. After numerous attempts to reach someone at the store, I was finally able to speak with the store manager. The manager advised that she would speak with her district manager regarding a potential settlement and would contact me with further instructions. Weeks passed with no response despite multiple follow-up calls. Eventually, I was informed that a settlement offer of {$500.00} would be submitted for approval. Again, I waited for an extended period without any update or response from TitleMax.
