I am disputing a collection account being reported by Credit Collection Services ( CCS ) on behalf of XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$750.00}. I submitted written disputes and requests for validation on XX/XX/year>, and again on XX/XX/year>. In those letters, I requested documentation establishing the identity of the original creditor, an itemized accounting of the amount claimed, documentation showing I am legally responsible for the debt, and proof that CCS has authority to collect and report the account. Despite my repeated written disputes, CCS has continued furnishing this account to consumer reporting agencies. The account remains on my credit reports and continues to damage my credit profile. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), information furnished to consumer reporting agencies must be accurate and complete. Pursuant to 15 U.S.C.

Disputed Amount : {$890.00} Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX Description of Incident : I am filing a formal complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX and any associated collection agencies regarding an unverified, un-justified, and predatory collection balance of {$890.00}. The balance stems from an unverified contract that was formally disputed due to identity theft and forgery. On XX/XX/year>, I executed and submitted a formal, notarized fraud affidavit proving that the original contract signature was a forgery. Following the submission of this affidavit, it was explicitly agreed that the contract would be canceled and the account closed. Despite this legally binding acknowledgement and the cancellation of the account, XXXX has continued to maintain a balance of {$890.00} and has routed this unverified debt to collections. They are actively pursuing collection efforts and threatening my credit profiles without any legal justification or valid contract supporting the debt.

I am submitting this complaint because * * Credit Collection Services * * continues to report a collection account on my consumer credit reports that I believe is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, and has not been properly verified as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). I exercised my rights under the FCRA by disputing this account with the consumer reporting agencies and requesting that a reasonable reinvestigation be conducted. Despite my dispute, Credit Collection Services continues to report the account without providing competent documentary evidence establishing that the information is accurate or that it has the legal authority to collect and report the alleged debt. Rather than providing the documentation I requested, I received only generalized responses indicating that the account had been " verified '' or would continue to be reported.

I am filing this CFPB complaint against Credit Collection Services regarding account number XXXX. This account is listed in my FTC Identity Theft Report, report number XXXX. I did not open, authorize, or agree to be responsible for this account, and I have no knowledge of the alleged debt. This account is being disputed as identity theft. I recently discovered unauthorized negative collection accounts on my consumer credit report, including this Credit Collection Services account, and these accounts have damaged my financial standing. I am demanding that Credit Collection Services immediately conduct a reasonable investigation and stop reporting or collecting on this account unless it can prove that I personally authorized the debt. Credit Collection Services must provide the original signed contract, application, complete billing history, chain of assignment, proof of ownership, validation records, and all documents used to verify my identity.

Credit Collection Services sent me an unsolicited text message on XX/XX/year>, from number XXXX, attaching a PDF ( XXXX ) that contained my personal and alleged debt information. The text did not warn that the PDF included sensitive personal information, provided no confidentiality protections, and was sent without my prior consent or verification that it was my phone number. Coworkers saw the message and/or PDF on my phone, resulting in unauthorized third-party disclosure of the alleged debt. This violates FDCPA rules on third-party communications and Regulation F requirements for electronic debt collection messages. I never told them they could contact me by text.

I am filing this complaint regarding the collection activities and credit reporting conducted by Credit Collection Services concerning an alleged account. My concern is not simply whether a debt exists. Rather, my concern is whether Credit Collection Services has the legal authority to collect this account and furnish information concerning it to consumer reporting agencies. Despite reporting this alleged account and attempting to collect it, Credit Collection Services has not demonstrated its legal standing or authority to do so. Accordingly, I request that Credit Collection Services provide documentation establishing the basis for its collection and reporting activities, including : * The complete chain of title identifying every entity that has owned this alleged account. * The complete chain of assignments reflecting every transfer of rights from the original creditor to the current owner.

I am disputing an inaccurate and fraudulent trade line being reported on my credit file by Credit Collection Services ( CCS ) under a partial account reference ending in asterisks. CCS is reporting a " Date Opened '' of XX/XX/XXXX for an alleged XXXX balance of {$110.00}. The original consumer account with XXXX was legally closed in XX/XX/XXXX. No account was ever opened, nor was any financial agreement entered into, with Credit Collection Services in XX/XX/XXXX. This timeline is mathematically impossible and constitutes illegal " re-aging '' of a debt to artificially deflate a credit score under the FCRA and FDCPA. Furthermore, the underlying balance is completely invalid. It was generated solely due to the negligence of XXXX 's customer service staff, who failed to properly process explicit consumer ACH cancellation instructions in XX/XX/XXXX when the policy was terminated.
