Vehicle loan or lease· Problems at the end of the loan or leaseMI

I am filing a complaint regarding an address error on my account and ongoing delays in receiving my vehicle title. Credit Acceptance sent title paperwork to an incorrect address months ago without notifying me, despite regularly verifying my address during calls. I only became aware of this issue after contacting them myself. On XXXX, a representative acknowledged the error and stated the process could be expedited. However, during follow-ups on XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was able to reach the title department directly and received inconsistent information. One representative didnt want to transfer me until I asked the second time, limiting my ability to resolve the issue. As a result, my vehicle has been sitting at a repair shop for months and is now at risk of being towed, causing additional financial harm. This situation stems from the companys error and lack of communication.

I am submitting this complaint because I believe Credit Acceptance Corporation is reporting inaccurate information regarding my auto loan to the consumer reporting agencies. The account is currently being reported as a closed account with a balance that I dispute. I requested that the company verify the accuracy of the information being furnished and provide documentation supporting the reporting. Specifically, I requested copies of the signed retail installment contract, the complete payment history, documentation supporting the reported repossession ( if applicable ), any legally required notices, and an itemized calculation of the balance. To date, I have not received sufficient documentation verifying the accuracy of the information being reported. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, companies that furnish information to consumer reporting agencies are required to report accurate information and investigate disputes regarding the accuracy of that information.

# Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) Complaint * * Company : * * Credit Acceptance Corporation * * Subject : * * Wrongful Repossession, Predatory Lending, and Inaccurate Credit Reporting I am filing this complaint against Credit Acceptance Corporation regarding the wrongful repossession of my vehicle, unfair lending practices, and inaccurate credit reporting. I believe Credit Acceptance engaged in predatory lending by placing me into a loan with terms that were unfair and excessively burdensome. The loan carried a high interest rate and payment obligations that were not adequately explained and were not reasonably affordable. In addition, I believe my vehicle was wrongfully repossessed. I dispute that Credit Acceptance had a lawful basis to repossess my vehicle under the circumstances. The repossession caused significant financial hardship, including the loss of reliable transportation, emotional distress, and damage to my credit.

I am filing this complaint regarding a vehicle that I voluntarily surrendered after it became inoperable. The vehicle developed serious mechanical and electrical problems, so I took it to a repair shop for diagnosis. The repair shop attempted to perform diagnostic testing, but they were unable to complete the tests because the vehicle would not communicate with their equipment. According to the repair report, the vehicle may have been struck by lightning or suffered significant electrical damage. Because the vehicle was no longer operable and the cost of repairs appeared to be substantial, I made the difficult decision to voluntarily surrender the vehicle to the lender. Despite these circumstances, I am still being held responsible for the remaining balance after the vehicle was surrendered. I am requesting that the company review my account, the repair report, and all of the circumstances surrounding the voluntary surrender.

I am writing to formally request a review of my loan, including the interest rate, the way my payments have been applied, and the explanation I received when I contacted your office about my concerns. When I reviewed my payment history, I noticed that only about one-fourth of my payments appeared to be applied toward the principal balance, while the majority was applied toward interest. Because of this, it feels as though I have not been able to make meaningful progress in reducing the principal balance. I was also concerned that, if the principal balance is not decreasing, I would not be able to reduce the overall interest burden as quickly as expected. I contacted your office to ask why such a large portion of my payments was being applied to interest instead of principal. The response I received was that I had already signed the contract and that the terms are what they are.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Complaint I am requesting the CFPB investigate what I believe to be a predatory auto loan and unfair lending practices related to my vehicle financing. The vehicle is a XXXX XXXX XXXX, financed through Credit Acceptance after being purchased from XXXX XXXX. From the beginning, this transaction was financially unreasonable. I also made a {$2000.00} down payment, yet despite making payments for approximately three years, my loan balance barely decreased and, in some periods, actually increased because nearly every payment was applied to interest instead of principal.
