I am submitting this complaint because I am the victim of identity theft, and inaccurate collection accounts continue to be reported on my credit reports despite my repeated efforts to have them corrected. My credit reports currently contain XXXX derogatory collection accounts reported by FirstPoint Collection Resources in the amounts of * * {$220.00} * * and * * {$470.00} * *. These accounts do not belong to me and are the direct result of identity theft. I did not open, authorize, or benefit from the accounts that led to these collection activities. After discovering the fraudulent information, I immediately filed an FTC Identity Theft Report and notified the credit bureaus and the debt collector that these accounts resulted from identity theft. I requested that FirstPoint Collection Resources investigate my identity theft claim, stop reporting these fraudulent collection accounts, and notify the credit bureaus to remove the inaccurate information.…

I am submitting this complaint regarding a collection account that FirstPoint Collection Resources is attempting to collect. I do not recognize this debt, I do not know who the original creditor is, and FirstPoint has not provided any information that would allow me to identify or verify the account. FirstPoint has been calling me repeatedly about a debt I have no knowledge of. I asked them to provide the full account number, the original creditor, the date of the alleged debt, and documentation showing that the debt belongs to me. They have not provided any of this information. I also requested debt validation as required under the FDCPA. This debt collector engaged in abusive, deceptive, and unfair practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. They furnished this account that we didn't agree upon and I didn't sign an agreement on. A legal contract is signed by two parties and I did not participate in any of it. More so they didn't follow the proper 5 step validation procedure which make this unfair practices. I have been contacted by this company while at work 15 times and was told I am going to pay this bill. A collection account is being reported on my credit file by FirstPoint Collection Resources for {$100.00} that I do not owe.
