Debt collection· Attempts to collect debt not owedGA

On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a written cease-and-desist notice to the company pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1692c ( c ), stating that this phone number is not associated with any debtor, that I have no business relationship with the company, and directing them to cease all communications. Despite this notice, the company continued sending automated collection text messages, including messages containing payment links. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, the company acknowledged in writing that this is a wrong-party number and that I am not associated with any active account. However, the automated collection texts continued after this confirmation. These communications occurred after both a written cease-and-desist and written confirmation that the number does not belong to the debtor, and therefore constitute continued unlawful contact and harassment in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, including 15 U.S.C. 1692c ( c ) and 1692d.

I received a text from the NRA Group approximately 2 months ago. I replied stop to opt out like the text instructed. I received a text about every 2 weeks since then. Today I called to dispute the amount and ask why I was still getting messages. The representative responded that it was the robot. I said I didnt care about any robot and it was my understanding that if I asked for them to stop that they were supposed to stop. I was subsequently hung up on. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor had no information about the debt except the company and amount. They said they didnt have an itemized bill but could request one from the company.

National Recovery Agency is reporting a collection account for approximately {$3100.00} that they claim originated from XXXX XXXX. I do not recognize this account and do not believe I owe this debt. After discovering the collection on my credit reports, I disputed the account with the credit reporting agencies. However, I have not been provided documentation demonstrating that I opened a XXXX XXXX account or that I am legally responsible for this debt. This collection is negatively affecting my credit. I went to the emergency from a few years ago and I had health insurance. I required an additional scan while I was in there. It was not a referral. It was to the emergency services. The independent XXXX tried to bill me versus my insurance which they knew to bill my insurance. They did reach out. They were told to get the information from the hospital they refused so I didnt know if they were trying to double dip. Every so often they would reach out and they were told the same thing go to the hospital that they are contracted by to get the insurance information. I will not be paying because I had no idea what happened. Turns out they sold it to a collections company which tanked my credit score 30 points even though all they had to do was just go to the hospital and get the correct information. I did dispute but damage is done. Also the collections company stated an insurance company based in Florida partially paid for the scan which was not my insurance.

National Recovery Agency ( NRA ) is in direct violation of both the FCRA and the FDCPA by knowingly furnishing completely fraudulent, inaccurate credit data while openly admitting they do not possess verification of the debt. NRA is reporting a collection balance of {$4500.00} for a purported debt originating from XXXX XXXX XXXX. Following my disputes submitted through the credit bureaus, NRA mailed a letter stalling the process and demanding that I provide them with copies of consumer identification and statements. Under the FDCPA, the burden of validation rests entirely on the collector. By demanding these documents from me rather than verifying the debt with the original creditor, NRA has explicitly admitted that they do not possess the primary-source media or evidence required to legally substantiate or report this debt.

I had no idea that they had sold it because to my knowledge it was written off years ago under charity care. I am disputing this medical account with National Recovery Agency because the balance is completely unverified and inflated. As an uninsured patient at the time, I am entitled to a transparent, itemized breakdown of the actual cost of services rendered to verify there are no billing errors, double-billing, or un-coded charges. National Recovery Agency verified this instantly on my credit report without providing me any such accounting. Furthermore, as a third-party debt collector, they can not possess my private medical charts to prove these specific services without violating federal HIPAA privacy boundaries. I request they either provide a full, itemized, audited accounting statement or delete this collection entirely.
