I am an Illinois resident and obtained a {$3200.00} loan through OppLoans/Opportunity Financial issued by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX After receiving the loan I realized that I am required to make weekly payments of approximately {$130.00}. I did not fully appreciate how difficult the weekly payment schedule would be to manage. The loan also has a XXXX % APR, a finance charge of {$4000.00}, and total payments of {$7200.00}. The combination of the very high cost of the loan and the required weekly payments has caused me financial hardship. I am a NC resident. At the time of taking out this loan I was not aware of the consumer protection laws in NC and wasnt aware of my rights as a customer. I had taken out this loan at a desperate time to be able to put food on the table and have a roof over my family and I 's head. I have since came to realize that the loan I took out is severely predatory and outright illegal and should not have been proposed to me the way that it was. This loan has an interest rate of 159.34 % which is far above NC 's cap and it was originated through XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Utah ) in a rent-a-bank structure to get around state law.

I am filing a complaint against Opportunity Financial , LLC ( OppLoans ) for violating FCRA 623 ( 15 USC 1681s-2 ) by transmitting inaccurate and structurally flawed consumer electronic data. This account is reported as a " Charge Off ''. Per the CDIA Metro-2 reporting standards, once an account is written off, specific data segments- such as the base segment reporting fields, current status, and rolling past-due fields- must lock and contain perfectly synchronized logic. I sent a technical Metro-2 violation notice highlighting data errors in their reporting. OppLoans failed to perform a valid audit of their electronic data layout and simply rubber-stamped an automated " verified '' code back to XXXX. OppLoans is currently publishing data that violates CDIA reporting integrity, and I demand that they order all major credit bureaus to delete this non-compliant tradeline immediately.

Complaint Against OppLoans / Opportunity Financial , LLC I am a New Jersey resident who obtained a loan through OppLoans. My loan agreement shows that I borrowed {$2600.00} and was charged an APR of 159.57 %, with a total repayment amount of {$5400.00}. The loan agreement lists my New Jersey address and confirms that the lender was aware I was a New Jersey resident at the time the loan was made. Since XX/XX/2025, I have made weekly payments of {$97.00}. Based on my payment history, I have paid approximately {$3400.00} toward this loan, which exceeds the {$2600.00} principal amount that I borrowed. Despite this, OppLoans continues to claim that I owe a remaining balance of approximately {$1400.00}. I am experiencing financial hardship and can not afford to continue making these payments. I dispute the remaining balance and request that OppLoans provide a complete accounting of all payments made and how those payments have been applied.

T his debt collector has engaged in conduct that violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). They are reporting an account that I did not authorize, and no signed agreement exists bearing my signature to validate any obligation. A legally binding contract requires clear consent from all parties, which is absent in this case. Additionally, the collector has failed to provide proper validation of the alleged debt as required under the FDCPA. Without sufficient documentation verifying the debts legitimacy, their continued reporting and collection efforts are unlawful. These actions constitute violations of my consumer rights. As a result, I demand the immediate deletion of this account from all reporting agencies. Failure to comply may result in further legal action, including claims for damages.

I am filing this complaint regarding an OppLoans loan serviced by Opportunity Financial , LLC and originated through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I am an Illinois consumer, and my loan agreement states that I borrowed {$2000.00} with an annual interest rate of 179.0 %. Based on the agreement, interest accrues daily at 1/365 of the annual rate. On a {$2000.00} balance, that equals approximately {$9.00} per day in interest at the beginning of the loan. I am concerned that this loan may violate or evade Illinois consumer protection laws, including Illinois 36 % rate cap under the Predatory Loan Prevention Act. Although the agreement identifies XXXX, a Utah bank, as the lender, OppLoans appears to be heavily involved in servicing, collecting, communicating with me, and administering the loan. I am concerned this may be a rent-a-bank arrangement designed to avoid Illinois interest rate protections.

I am submitting this complaint regarding OPP Loans ' ( Opportunity Financial , LLC ) inaccurate furnishing of information to credit reporting agencies, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. 1692f. My XXXX credit report dated XX/XX/XXXX shows the following from OPP Loans : Account opened XX/XX/XXXX, charged off in XX/XX/XXXX, original balance {$2000.00}, current reported balance {$2800.00}, reported as " past due {$2800.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. '' The reporting contains multiple accuracy problems that I dispute under 1681s-2 ( a ) and ( b ) : ( 1 ) Charge-off timeline. The account is reported as opened XX/XX/XXXX and charged off in XX/XX/XXXX approximately 90 days from origination. Federal regulatory guidance under the FFIEC Uniform Retail Credit Classification and Account Management Policy provides for charge-off of closed-end loans at 120 days past due.

I thought they were helping me. After a while of paying on the loan my payoff number wasnt going down. I then looked into it and found out that I had a 160 % interest rate. With further research I learned that the highest legal amount of interest in Virginia ( which is where I live ) is 35 %. Anything over 35 % is illegal. My loan is at 160 % which is not honored in VA. They took advantage of a young girl who didnt know much at the time about interest rates. They caused me emotional distress and anxiety from worrying on not being able to pay my payments on time. If I wasnt able to make my payments on time my account was debited more ( usually around XXXX dollars ).

I am filing this complaint against OppLoans / OppFi and XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding a high-cost installment loan made to me as a New Jersey resident . The loan was originated on or about XX/XX/year>. The loan amount was {$3000.00}. The documents and OppLoans correspondence reflect an APR of approximately 158.65 % and an agreed annual interest rate of 160.0 %. OppLoans has confirmed in writing that interest accrues daily, that the daily rate is calculated as 1/365 of the 160.0 % annual rate, and that payments are applied first to any charges or fees, then to accrued interest, and only then to principal. I dispute the legality, enforceability, and collectability of this loan, including the collection of interest, finance charges, and any amount beyond the net principal advanced. I am a New Jersey resident, and I believe this loans rate far exceeds New Jerseys usury limits.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I took out a personal installment loan for {$2300.00} with XXXX XXXX, serviced by OppFi/OppLoans. The loan carried an Annual Percentage Rate of 159.56 %, which violates California AB 539, effective XX/XX/XXXX, which caps interest rates on personal loans between {$2500.00} and {$10000.00} at 36 % APR. The loan was partially used to pay off a prior OppFi loan, and the account has since been assigned to a debt collector called XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX 's own written communication to me states their California collection license is " pending, '' meaning they are actively attempting to collect {$3600.00} from me without a valid California license, in violation of the XXXX Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I disputed this account on my credit report. XXXX responded by providing the original promissory note and payment history as debt validation.
